Alright, I broke down… I couldn’t help it… My kids were threatened a mutiny if I don’t take them to a buffet since Hibatchi Grill & Supreme Buffet have been closed. So before you give me grief about writing ANOTHER buffet review, I like to remind my ‘fans’ that I have not post one well over 16 months… So calm down people. Onward with the review… Main +: * Huge selection of hot food, including egg drop soup(don’t know why this is a difficult thing for a Chinese buffet). * Lots of selection at the Mangolian BBQ bar: plenty of meats, including 2 types of beef(Steak and thin cuts for quick stir fried). * The sushi bar is extremely lively and moving along. Basically, it has decent flavors and people move the items along and the chef’s keep up the pace. * Very clean — probably the cleanest I have seen for any buffet location. * Spacious space — hence getting in on a busy weekend should not be a problem. * Real hard ice cream. Main -: * Can’t say I favor the location. * Wish there was more seafood selection. * Didn’t see any crab legs(not sure it was on the menu or I was just slow) Overall, my ‘animals’(children) love this place and will remind to take them here at least once a month. Yes, I promise not to write another buffet review ‘ever’ again… We are all sinners and need a buffet in our life, especially when you have children.

I really liked this place when I went a few weeks ago. The restaurant is huge and has a great variety, including sushi(yum!). Obviously the sushi won’t be top quality at a buffet, but I’m not a sushi snob and it was certainly worth the price of the buffet. I was excited to see sesame balls and green tea ice cream — delicious! I dropped a star due to paying extra for drinks. Tacky and annoying. Other than that, if you want a good Asian buffet, this is your place! I will certainly be returning whenever I find someone to go with me, as my husband isn’t a fan of Asian cuisine.

Best Chinese buffet in the Twin Cities in my opinion. The closest contender is 98lbs. in Minneapolis, but only because they offer Dim Sum. The offerings at Teppanyaki are flavorful, hot and fresh. They pay more attention to food quality here than most. Hot & Sour soup is awesome, more varieties of sushi than you can shake a stick at and real hard ice cream! They also do a mean minced beef in flaky crust. I’ve been coming here for years and am consistently impressed. Never had a bad meal here or poor service. The lobby does get crowded on weekends towards 12pm so watch out. On the bright side, they’ve recently put some nice couches out front to rest on. The price is also really reasonable, cheaper than most buffets in fact even though they’re worlds away better.

First off, let’s all set reasonable expectations for Asian buffets. To be clear, this was not the finest Chinese food in the Twin Cities. I happened to be driving by the other day as I was having one of my «bad Chinese buffet» cravings. You know, when you just feel like trying a bunch of things knowing you’re playing a game of chance in more ways than one. So I figured what the heck. The place was massive with lots of variety, including a decent selection for those who aren’t in the mood for Chinese. I have to say that it wasn’t disgusting, and that’s actually a complement given the scale at which they were preparing food. I had an $ 8 lunch, $ 10 w/soda(seriously, where can you find those prices these days) and the quality was decent enough to scratch that«bad Chinese buffet» itch for a while.

So i have seen several billboards advertising this buffet. After awhile i looked it up and no one had anything horrible to say and some even had some great things to say. I made the decision to try it last night with my boyfriend. First impressions? The location isnt in a calm suburb and stores around are okay. There is Aldi and Family Dollar plus a few other businesses. The sign for this buffet is huge. From the outside it doesnt look like an average Asian Buffet but it doesnt look spectacular either. Now when i stepped inside i was actually impressed. The place looks very clean and well spaced out. Theres a lot to choose from on food. Very nice inside. It took awhile before we were seated which was disappointing because we can visually see several vacant seats. I think the hottess took her time yo seat us. At first we stood behind a few people but no one greeted us. The desk where money is taken there were people but they didnt sat anything to us. Customer service wasnt looking good at this point. After being seated the service was good. Our drinks were always filled and our empty plates didny sit for long. It made up for the uncertain moments when entering the buffet. Price wise this place isnt bad.$ 11.99 for dinner but it does not include drinks. That is an extra $ 2. But even with that its reasonably priced. Now for the important part… The food. It was… Average. Nothing had an exquisite taste. You do though have a huge variety to choose from but taste wise it wasnt something you cant get from any other asian buffet. I can say i was happy that seafood was always piled high and me loving crawfish loved that. The ice cream section was nice and liked that. You cab scoop your choice of ice cream then theres several toppings to choose from. My final thoughts… It was okay. I wouldnt mind going back but im not going to go raving about this place to other people.

I came one time during a Friday lunch. The place is big and clean. Service was fast. $ 8/person for lunch. The food did not stand out. Sushi was cold, chewy with a lot of filler rolls. Buffet section had many options, however, they did not impress us. Seafood was not there as other reviews mentioned. I didn’t try the Mongolian style grill bar. Overall, nothing is awesome enough for a return.

For a Chinese Buffett place, this place is ok. The parking lot is pretty big, but it’s being shared with a lot of other surrounding businesses. However, there are quite a few spots designated just for Buffett patrons, I was lucky to grab one of these on my way in. This place is pretty big, plenty of seats for large parties. Because of this, I got seated pretty quick! One of the first things I do before I commit to any buffet style place is to do a quick walk through to see what they have to offer, and how fresh the food looks. I was actually impressed with the selection. Lots of seafood options and quite a bit of freshly rolled sushi items with actual fish! not just the artificial crab and veggie mixes that other places offer. They also offered a build-your-own stir fry option. You get to pick your own veggies, meats, noodles, and sauces to create a one of a kind meal. I skipped this cuz the line looked really long… Some items looked like they had been sitting around for a while and were looking pretty sad, like the Prime Rib cuts. There weren’t a lot of asian style vegetable options. The dessert table was pretty large though, with lots of scoopable ice cream flavors to choose from. The weekend buffet price was only $ 11.99 which would have been cheaper than filling a take out box full of food and pay by the pound.

Ok I love buffets! this is on my top list I love the variety its huge place and the stir fry bar mmm! the only thing I don’t like is that they charge you if you waste your food. I don’t like wasting my food but! if I get something and taste it and don’t like it or for some reason im the type of person who thinks im super hungry I take like 3 bites and im like WOOO im full out of no where and yall charge me mmm noo! but the food is good I don’t know if you ever been to buffet in st Louis park called Super Moon buffet its a lot alike they just don’t charge for leaving food oh and one more thing you pay for your drink separate too Super Moon you don’t. If your on lake street don’t go to any other Chinese buffet on there go here and try it out

My family’s been coming here for years, and THIS(along with Hibachi Grill just down the street) are our go-to places for Chinese. Their lunch buffet is very reasonably priced. The quality and variety of their food is excellent, as is their sushi bar. You could pay $ 7 for take out at Leann Chin or less than $ 9 for everything Teppanyaki has to offer. There’s really no question, Teppanyaki is better food and a better value.

This particular buffet is not bad. I used to come here every once in a while when I have a craving for buffets, but after discovering Super Moon and Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet, I stopped coming here. They have a relative decent selection of variety of dishes, sushi, and seafood as well. They also have a Mongolian stir –fry grill. There wasn’t anything in particular about the food that stood out to me — it is of typical buffet level, and I usually go there when I have cravings for large amounts of crawfish, shrimps, and etc. One thing that was nice though is their selection of ice cream! They have quite a few more flavors than other buffets, and this includes green tea! The green tea ice cream was also one of the reasons why I used to come here often. Another pro is that their prices are cheaper than Super Moon and Hibachi Grill & Supreme. Service is a hit or miss similar to most buffets, but I am not really looking for that when I come to a buffet, so it’s alright as long as they refill my beverages and take away my dirty plates promptly.

This is my favorite buffet in Minneapolis so far! They have a MONSTROUS selection of food; all of which are pretty decent quality considering it’s a buffet and I just want to eat a TON of food with less discretion for quality. I initially start with 2 heaping plates from the sushi bar. This is kind of hit or miss. The first time I went, the quality was pretty good, but the fish variety was limited. There were a lot more«filler rolls» like mostly cucumber, sour cream, whatever. My second visit, they had a ton of nigiri and the chef there was handing out sashimi like hot cakes! I think he was only handing sashimi to women because my friend’s mom asked for the same serving for her husband and I THINK he said«I don’t do that». The only reason I’m even entertaining this is because of how pushy he was to girls. He’d be like«come over here, take this, take this». Kinda creepy, which is better for me because I can just mooch off the lady friends that get creeped on lol. After the sushi, I eat X amount of plates of other food. I know what number the X is but I don’t want to encourage my poor decisions and lack of self control haha: X Everything is pretty good, the shrimp was okay, clams were okay(some of them seemed to be purposely packed with sand), and the crawfish was a BUST. They’ve got a solid ice cream selection of about 10 flavors, I liked the mint chocolate and green tea.

Best Asian food in Twin Cities! Fresh variety of different cuisine from salad bar to Japanese sushi to Mongolian Grill and not to forget great selection of seafood plus more. Cooks are perfectionists to say the least.

Great Chinese Buffet with an amazing selection. They really have just about everything and do a really good job with most of their items. Dishes we loved: Beef Broccoli, Chicken Broccoli, any piece of sushi, Spring Rolls, Chicken Wings, and Lo Mein. Dishes that need work: Tofu(was mushy) and Crab Rangoons(too sweet). Dishes to avoid: Shrimp Alfredo(yeah, Italian) and Pork Egg Roll(just gross). We celebrated Dad’s birthday here and we all really enjoyed ourselves. They had a huge room with a large table for our party. They were friendly and provided excellent service(refilled drinks often). The waiters brought a smile to the table each time they checked on us.

3 Stars: The good: Large selection of food, sushi, and a fry grill where they stir fry(?) ingredients for you. The price is unbeatable for large size of the buffet.(Drinks are a separate charge onto of the buffet price.) The price is right for what you’re getting here. Huge selection of food, ranging from seafood(Crawfish to Crab Legs), Ameri-Chinese fare(lo mein, general tsos chicken, cheese wontons, sugar buns, etc.) to straight up buffet classics(pizza, mac and cheese, unidentifiable fish filet, red and orange jello). They have a large dessert selection, with self-serve ice cream(you scoop it) — over 6 flavors to chose from. The quality of the food is exactly what you’d expect for such a large buffet. If your standards are set low, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. They also have Sushi, and a grill where you chose meat, rice and vegetables– They fry it all up for you. I’ve never tried it, because the product has never looked appealing to me. A lot of my friends enjoy it, so you may too. The bad: The parking lot can be tedious at best, disastrous at worst. It is in a strip mall complex, with about 7 other big stores. The area might not be favorable to everyone, but if you are familiar with Minneapolis neighborhoods, screaming children and a diverse clientele, then you should have no issues. Good spot for a quick lunch.

Even after having read Unilocal reviews on this place was still relatively pleasantly surprised when we dined here. It’s definitely one of the better buffets around the twin cities and a lot of that has to do with their selection being different from all the others. Yes they still carry the standard dishes but they also had some pretty unique ones, ones that you definitely don’t usually see at other Chinese buffets. The quality of food was pretty good too. They were constantly renewing the dishes whether or not they were running low, just seemed like they were focused and committed to keeping food fresh. Our waitress was really nice and was constantly filling our water cups with a smile. Our hostess though was pretty rude. Seemed like she could care less whether or not we were waiting to get seated or we were just hanging out in the lobby. Once you get past the mean looking hostesses though, then you were golden. Everyone else was super nice. A quick rundown of selection at a Sunday dinner(they have all day dinner for $ 11.99pp): Clam chowder Hot and sour soup Chicken nuggets(very dried out) Buffalo chicken wings(weren’t very saucy and weren’t very strongly buffalo flavored) Fried chicken wings and drumsticks Fried fish Long yan steamed fish with ginger and onions(REALLY good — not something you usually see at a buffet, it’s not cheap!) Broccoli chicken Broccoli beef Sauteed mushrooms(really soaked up the sauce, yummy) Stuffed mushrooms(tasted greasy) Bacon wrapped imitation crab Mashed potatoes & gravy(very much instant, not great) Corn on the cob(tasted old and stale) Pizza Lo mein Shrimp alfredo(quite tasty, just enough creaminess) Mac n’ cheese(didn’t have much taste) Stuffed potatoes(halved russet potatoes with stuff on top) Sweet bread(has no filling, just slightly sweet Asian bread — served with some butter if you’d like it) Prime rib(not sure if it really was, but was tasty) Baked salmon(looked a bit dry) Crayfish Ginger and green onion crab Sauteed clams Sauteed and cold mussels Cocktail shrimp(in the shell) Teriyaki chicken Roasted chicken(looked dry but was okay) And a whole lot more! Sushi included: Salmon nigiri(tasted relatively fresh) Tuna nigiri(tasted relatively fresh) White tuna nigiri(tasted relatively fresh) California roll Rainbow roll(but with cream cheese inside instead of california roll) Fried types of sushi There was a separate area for mongolian stir fry. Desserts: Ice cream Fruit(cantaloupe, watermelon, canned peaches, pineapples, apples) Jello Rice pudding Cookies Cakes

First of all, this place has the best chicken and broccoli I’ve ever had, anywhere. This is a buffet, obviously, but the meat quality seems higher overall than the average takeout place(and certainly better than the average buffet). It has some quirks and you shouldn’t come expecting it to magically not be a buffet, but I’d say it’s one of the best values for price in the Twin Cities area. The variety can be overwhelming. I’ve never had a bad chicken dish here, and this is one of the only buffets I’ve been to that had genuinely good beef dishes. The green beans are excellent. The white rice has an above buffet-average flavor and texture. They have a lot of interesting seafood I’ve never tried, but the sushi is, again, above buffet-average. Oh! And the apple slices are extra delicious because they’re mixed with pineapple juice to keep them from browning.

This is a good place to go get filled up on average quality food. For the price, you really cannot complain. The service is pretty good, and they have a huge variety on the buffet. If you are local to the area or just craving a large portion of sushi or Chinese food, I recommend trying it.

Came to visit the family for a 4 day weekend Came by this place… Place is very clean, waitresses are friendly… Food delicious.(for being a buffet). Price is reasonable. We liked how they have a sushi bar, also they have a station where u select your meats and veggies raw and they cook it for u on the spot. Definitely recommend it if u come down to Minnesota.:)

We gave this place a try on a whim and have been delightfully impressed every time we have arrived. They have a great sushi assortment at all hours, they have a large selection of dishes and you can get sat instantly without a wait. We discovered a few quirks while dining though… they have a ice cream flavor that is unrecognizable every time… that is because as the staff explained, they take all the ice cream flavors that are left and combine them into one tub. Its a little interesting. While the area seems a little questionable we have never had any problems(other than some homeless people hooting and hollering upon departure). The price is excellent for what you get.
