The tailors at Tailors on Blake are amazing! They can alter any garment (including wedding dresses) and work with a reweaver who can repair holes in knits.
I owe a recent promotion to their tailoring of my work wardrobe!

The ladies here are extremely knowledgable, honest, and easy to work with. The work comes back professionally altered, clean, and looking as if you bought it that way! They offer embroidery as well and have a lot of great wedding and baby gift ideas. The shop is inviting, warm, and friendly. Any negative reviews are because someone thinks they should only pay $ 10 for a time consuming, tedious, well done job! You pay what you get for! Fantastic! If you are looking for a tailor who can re-​work any garment with attention to detail and the finest quality, then look no further. I took in 2 skirts that I adored but couldn’t fit into after losing weight, and they are in a word– perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. These are honest hardworking people, which is hard to find nowadays. They are upfront about how much their services cost, and will tell you the price before you leave it with them. Everyone has to make a living, so don’t expect to pay $ 20 to have a major job done on a garment. You get what you pay for. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with a treasured garment. Fabulous :)

I brought my bridesmaids dress here to be altered and when I went to pick it up today, the length was fine but they ruined the bust area. When I pointed out their mistake, instead of saying, «sorry let me fix it» this woman told me 1. my bust was heavy (i’m only a c cup) 2. I should stand up straighter 3. thats just how the dress was made. This woman was unreal and clearly can’t own up to her own mistakes. I paid, mentioned something to the owner, and left with my ruined dress.
I have never had worse customer service and they completely overcharged. I will never go back here and don’t recommend anyone get anything they really care for altered. I hear they are great at monogramming towels… they should stick to that.

I decided to give Tailors on Blake a try because the hours and location are a bit more convenient than the tailor I usually go to.
Parking was easy and the interior was clean w/​well-​lit, spacious fitting rooms. I brought them two men’s shirts for the following alterations:
Shirt 1: Shorten sleeves and torso length
Shirt 2: Shorten sleeves
The work was just fine and the turnaround time was about a week. However, I was shocked by the price. The total came out to $ 85. That’s double what I’m used to paying elsewhere.

They so a nice job with alterations but are very expensive, they are about double what I pay other places. They tell their honey opinion and how clothes look which is nice

I brought a chiffon floor length bridesmaid dress in to get altered by Mary. I knew I needed the straps shortened, and Mary also suggested she put a stitch in the vneck part of the dress so it wasn’t too low. I made the mistake of not getting an estimate, because when I picked up the dress a few weeks later, the «quick stitch» Mary suggested to me was posted on the receipt as $ 48, not to mention the stitch was poorly done. The sleeve shortening was only $ 36, which leaves me wondering how it is possible that could have cost so much. The good news is that the dress fit. The bad news is that I paid over $ 90 to have a simple alteration that should have cost less than $ 50. Please view the photo section of this page as I have added a picture of the stitch in the vneck. My advice to you if you decide to go here is to ask for an estimate beforehand, although my sister had the same problems with being overcharged for things even when she had been given a (false) estimate during her fitting.

Mary and Sharon are magicians with a needle and thread. They have been able to update and style my clothes so I can continue to wear my closet favorites

I have used them a million times… I’m tall and pretty thin, so almost everything I own needs to be altered. They have never let me down, in about eight years of using them frequently. They are also really great at re-​purposing things that just aren’t quite right — making a skirt out of a dress, or combining two pieces into one… they are great at doing this! I have had them alter everything from dress shirts to pants to dresses and skirts. Everything comes out amazing. THANK YOU!
