This place is aight! It’s owned by the same folks that own my beloved neighborhood stomping ground, the Rail Station. But I do prefer RS to Stanley’s for a few reasons. For one, both times I was at Stanley’s they were blaring country music. For whyyyyyyyyyy??? I couldn’t wait to leave simply due to the assault on my eardrums. And honestly it was SO loud I had to scream at my friend sitting directly next to me. Secondly, the food menus are different, and Stanley’s doesn’t have my RS faves – but they DO have the best giant stuffed soft pretzel I’ve ever had. I tried the mac & cheese(sans hot dogs) and did not care for it… probably one of the very few times in my life I haven’t liked mac & cheese. My friend and I split an order of the tater tot nachos sans bacon and those were good. Overall, I’d say it’s not worth going out of your way to come here, but it’s a decent neighborhood spot for drinks and food.

Used to love the cheese curds… Now, worst cheese curds ever. Batter was way to sweet, sauce weird… hope they bring the old ones back. Service was good though.

Fun staff, decent beer selection, and good food. I typically have had good experiences here but I will give the caveat that the last two times I’ve been in(both in November 2015) my food was not cooked to the temp requested. Their star is their brisket — get it in nachos, tacos, and on a bun — any way that you can! This is also a great place to watch a sports event.

I’ve come to really enjoy this place. I’d never heard of it before meeting someone here for lunch some time ago. This is now my go-to place when I’ve got an engagement in the area. The service is good, the patrons friendly and unobtrusive, and the food is decent. One of the things I like about this place is that they’ve got a good variety of food to fit just about anyone’s palate and mood. The pulled pork, which is what I had this time, was a bit bitter, though still tasty. It had a scorched taste to it, so the sauce may not have been stirred as much as necessary in the making. Again, it didn’t kill the sandwich. The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming. I like to go to places that don’t remind me that I’m Black(as though I could forget). This is one of those places.

The Dragon Bloody Mary is hot! By far, one of the best I’ve had. Totally worth it for that alone. However, the menu is very limited. I had a build your own omelette and it was overdone. Service was okay. I vow to return for that bloody though.

This is my favorite bar in Northeast! When you go there ask for Dane; he makes cocktails with the energy of 1,009 bucking stallions.

I was here for a Unilocal event and they treated us so well! They set out sliders, veggies with hummus and chicken quesadillas for our event. Our server Teri was amazing and attentive, making sure to clear away used dishes and ask if we wanted additional drinks. This was my first time here but I’ll definitely go back to try some other beers. I also hear they karaōke.

Great place to watch sports and have a good beer. They have a fantastic beer menu and a great number of TVS. They will play the Audio for good local games, not sure about regional games. Tonight my server was, Teri, and she was amazing. She has a great beer knowledge and lead me to getting a beer I hadn’t heard of, but I loved it!

This place once had a decent menu & food. Now, not so much. May as well drive to the burbs and eat st Applebee’s. Guess if that is what you like come on in. All the deep fried crap you want! !! Just received a response from Luke at Stanley’s telling me that they use locally sourced foods. Then why did your server tell me all the wings were frozen, prebattered and deep fried? Doesn’t sound like the locally sourced chicken I get from the Co Op? Just saying…

A month ago a group of us went here for dinner. We sat on the patio and ordered drinks and dinner. 1 ½ hours later our food started coming out 2 meals at a time. Half of our group had to get to go boxes because we all had a party to be at. None the less all of that would have been tolerated except the waitress was RUDE and treated us like crap. Never once did she apologize for the wait or her crappy attitude. I went directly with my complaint and concerns first. But after being promised they would make it right and days of phone tag. I decided to write my review. It is so unfortunate that our first experience there was that horrible and it is unfortunate that no one really cares if we return. There are so many other great places to spend my money. 7−2−15 I just wanted to let everyone know that since this review the staff has been very helpful and attentive. I am looking forward to returning for a 2nd visit.

People LOVE Stanley’s and I just don’t get it. I mean, it’s pretty good I guess. They can make tasty food and they can deliver it to your table. Beyond that though I would say that Stanley’s is nothing special. The food is average, what-you’d-expect bar food. Burgers, BBQ pork sandwiches, fries Etc… It’s prepared to an acceptable level of edibleness /taste enjoyment. But they definitely refrain from trying to win any awards for flavor or originality. As far as I can tell there aren’t even any signature dishes which you would expect from a place like this with such a long history in the neighborhood. As a side note: avoid the Taco Tuesday Special, unless you have a hankering for a serious disappointment. They are Taco Bell quality at best I am however going to give them props for changing their menu. It has been streamlined and distilled to the essentials that every sports bar should have. The service is just OK. They seem to go through servers regularly as I have been here often(out of necessity) and rarely seen the same servers multiple times. This shows in the level of service, it’s… apprehensive, which is a little off putting. Definitely not a place you should go when you’re in a hurry. In closing, who cares about the dang old urinals?!?

Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy Stanley’s, but their menu has changed and it’s not the better! First of all, who’s decision was it to take the huge basket of delicious fries off the appetizer menu? Seriously, that basket of fries is the reason why we would go to Happy Hour here because the fries are SO good. I mean, sure, there are still sweet potato fries but they AREN’T THESAME. Also, tomato«marmalade» on my grilled cheese just doesn’t need to exist ever. Disappointing changes to the menu, for sure, and Friday Happy Hours are often leading us to Mayslacks instead.

From entrance to exit I felt a high level of costumer service. Not sure if they are under new management or their manager has turned into a maitre d’ but I was highly impress by the level of awareness to all the customers walking through their door. The main dining area looks bigger on the outside but well decorated like a comfortable neighbor sports bar but then you walk outside on their patio with huge projector TV set, numerous tables and areas with shade or sunlight. Well done! But what really tickled my fancy was the food! Very inventive and not your typical bar food although you will find your favorites they are just stepped up a notch. Don’t leave without trying their nachos!

Damn decent food. One of the rare non-divey places in the Northeast(nothing against dive bars just there are plenty of them around there.) Bacon fest was pretty cool even though I am not a HUGE fan of bacon, the beers were on point. I think it was a Monday when they give you a discount for ordering a beverage that pretty much covers the cost of the beverage. I am not around that often as my friends like to hit the more famous spots in NE like the Palace, Betty Dangers, or Psycho Suzie’s etc when they are down there. All in all good stuff here.

It’s probably a good thing I don’t live closer. The beer battered mushrooms and seasoned sour cream would be a serious weakness. Stopped in late last night with a friend. We were looking for some late night appetizers and we found ‘em. Dry rubbed wings, beer battered mushrooms and chips, salsa and guacamole. You should have seen that order come out. I had no idea the portions were that large. –Dry rubbed wings were good. Realy good size, but messy. –Chips accompanied by some really good salsa with a little kick. –Now to the beer battered mushrooms. The mushrooms were huge! We were both expecting some little button mushrooms. These were some big ass mushrooms in tasty batter dipped in seasoned sour cream. Damn they were good. Even better on the happy hour menu. Service was good. I like the fact that bathrooms are like little rooms versus the stalls. Really nice neighborhood bar with a nice laid back vibe.

This place is cool. I got here for late night happy hour, starts at 10pm. They card you at the door, I thought that was a little strange since it’s not a night club. I hate getting too many little sharpie marks on my hands and wrists. I feel like they’re judging me… but secretly I’m just judging myself. There are plenty of TV’s in the bar area if you’re there to watch a game. Lots of comfy seating too, with booths and thick padded leather stools. They have an outdoor patio area. The view isn’t anything special, just a bunch of homes and businesses, but it’s nice to have that outdoor option. Their happy hour menu is long with $ 3-$ 7 appetizer style items. Cheap drinks too. I stuck with vodka sodas and those were only $ 3. We ordered french fries with seasoned sour cream, their famous Stanley pretzels with a cheese sauce, and buffalo wings which was on the regular menu for $ 13, but definitely worth it. All the dishes were yummy. The most boring item, french fries, turned out to be my favorite. You can tell they were right out of the fryer, and the sour cream had a nice zip to it. The pretzels were good, I don’t know that it’s a must order again, but I wasn’t disappointed. The buffalo wings hit the spot. The smell of the sauce was clearing our sinuses. I like that. These are full giant size wings. We ordered the 10 piece, with the two of us we had 5 left over. Service was great, fast and friendly, not much more I can ask for then that! The place has a cool vibe to it. You can tell people were enjoying themselves. Even the servers, they stopped at midnight and sang happy birthday to their bar manager. It’s good to see a solid working environment, it certainly comes through in service.

Where have you been all my life, Stanley? If you were only within walking distance from my crib, I would be a regular for your happy hours. Too bad, I didn’t know about you sooner… ***** Neighborhood hangouts are my jam, and I was happy to hear that my homegirl Kara D wanted to throw a little get-together there. Lots of things to love: +Reasonable happy hour prices. +Tasty starters such as the beer battered mushrooms and mini corn dogs. +A relaxed atmosphere that seems to be bro-less. ***Applause.*** +Decent brew list on tap. +A friendly server that wore the biggest smile on her face.(And, if you don’t like smiles, you probably hate puppies and ducklings.) I’ll definitely return to indulge in their Ultimate Stanley Burger, and I don’t mind risking the chance of suffering from a heart attack after consuming a ½ beef patty topped with bbq brisket, pork, and cheese.

So here it is folks… Service = Solid Food = Alright Beer = Decent Selection I can’t rave enough about the service… our server was top notch, funny, engaging and anticipated needs. What more could you ask for really? I stopped here on a Wednesday with a few friends, which by the way is ALLDAYHAPPYHOUR… yeah…ALLDAY. The beer selection is decent, with plenty of local brews and your usual international and national picks. I’m always a fan of supporting the little guy and something new! Since we had a decent sized group, we had to get apps and found ourselves wanting to try everything on the menu :-) We ending up getting… * mini corn dogs(always a solid choice) * quesadilla(not bad, guac comes from a bag) * bavarian pretzels(SOLID…love the cheese dip!) * chicken tenders and fries(how can you go wrong!!!) There is a large outdoor patio area and plenty of seating inside. Parking is available via a private lot, street during specific hours and there is an overflow lot across the street(so no worries on trying to find a play to park your ride). I only stopped for HH… may have to try the full menu sometime :-)

I love the transformation of the former Stasiu’s into Stanley’s. Not every bar in NE needs to retain the total dive feel — there are plenty of those to go around(and they are awesome), and a lot of effort was made to pay omage to Stasiu’s. Stanley’s is modern yet unpretentious, with a nice bar, fairly spacious dining area, and a rather large patio(for NE, that is). The beer selection is excellent and the food better than one would expect at a neighborhood NE bar. Especially the brunch(Yum!). And I’ve always had good luck with service here, even when it’s packed. Stanley’s is a nice reprieve from the more divey establishments around NE. It’s «versatile,» too — you can head there any time of the day and have a great experience.

I’ve been to Stanley’s more times than I can count at this point, for a number of occasions from dates to birthday get togethers and it’s never disappointed. The drink selection — for beer snobs and mixed drinks fans — is one of the best around. You can sample a massive assortment of beer and they have amazing daily specials for drinks along with house creations. Food wise, there isn’t anything on the menu that isn’t good. Burgers are amazing, steak is great, sides and apps are always good and even salads are delicious. Only issue with the place, parking. The lot is a nightmare, and you’re normally left with residential parking a block away(don’t risk across the street, you’re likely to get towed).
