St Louis Park Rec Center

The entire rec center comprises the main building with two ice rinks as well as the aquatic park next to the building. The facility has been well used but is holding up well, and the ice rinks are in high demand. There is also a banquet room upstairs which can be used for meetings and other events.
The staff are friendly and helpful and surface lot parking is plentiful.
Note: Minnetonka residents get reciprocal rates for water park usage in exchange for SLP residents getting to use the Williston athletic center at residential rates. A good deal for citizens of both cities.

This review is for the pool.
The rec center is located behind the Trader Joe’s in St. Louis Park. Inside it has a few hockey rinks & locker rooms. The pool opens at 11a & is $ 9 for adults.
I don’t spend any time in the locker room other than walking through it to get to the pool. It has plenty of toilets & shower stalls, though.
The pool area is very nice. Lots of lounge chairs; some more comfortable than others. Go for the blue ones if available. It is a zero-​depth entry pool so it’s perfect for people like me who don’t like to swim in pools, but just sit & cool off.
This is a great pool for families. There are 2 large water slides (1 of the 2 you go down with a tube); 2 small water slides; a diving board; an obstacle course; water slide for babies. However, there is still an area to stand/​swim & not be bothered by children if they aren’t your forte.
Unlike most pools I’ve been to, the concessions here are cheap. They have pool staples like hamburgers, pizza & nachos, as well as healthier options like fruits & veggies. I got a pretzel w/​cheese and carrots & dip for only $ 2.25 on Saturday.
There is a large picnic area & gazebo you can use; I’m thinking the gazebo may be for rent since I’ve noticed birthday parties being held in it lately.
Nice pool & close for Minneapolis residents. I’m much happier paying $ 9 to lay out here than for free at Lake Crazybusyhoun.
