There’s just something about a coat of paint that makes your apartment feel so home-y! Even if your lease says you aren’t allowed to paint. Well I am one of the lucky few that is renting from a building that has told me that they would encourage me to paint. More particularly I am sure because they don’t want to pay someone else to do it. Now I typically would go to Home Depot, or Lowes, shucks, even Menards for paint. But here i was thinking«why would I do that when there is a paint store literally around the corner?!» I should have listened to the voice that told me to hit a big box store… Okay, I’ll give it some credit. The paint looks great on my walls! But I’m not rating my apartment am I? My overall experience here was really only so-so. The guy that works here was very knowledgeable about paints and finishes… but apparently he doesn’t understand that a gallon of mixed paint in EGGSHELL does not mean Semi-Gloss. I don’t need my television glaring off of my walls, much the same way as I don’t need it to look like someone polished my drywall. If the paint here wasn’t so expensive(expect to pay about $ 3 – 5 more per gallon here) I would go back and get new paint… but I will just learn to live with it I suppose… Or hire a homeless person to smoke cigarettes in my apartment for a few hours to dull down the shine.
