Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services

We have used roto rooter a few times now for our large drain in the basement. Josh (4348) did a great job explaining to us what he was going to do and taking us though preventive care for our drain so it does not get back up as often. We like that we made a same day appointment and they came out at the times they gave us. Even the call service representative was very helpful and knowledgeable. I will use roto rooter anytime I have drain issues

We scheduled Roto Rooter to come out and fix out hot water heater. We even got a confirmation email which I thought was charming. But then when the time came for our plumber to come out and fix our hot water heater I was stood up like a fat kid with a bad haircut on prom night. We called and Roto Rooter only then decided to inform us that the techs that work on hot water heaters were not working today. How Convenient!!! That information would have been useful to me when I set up the appointment. With the temp being about –8 outside and cold water running thought my pipes I am so glad that I waited for Roto Rooter to bend me over the banister and possibly give me a bigger headache of busted water pipes in my house (HOW FUN). Once Roto Rooter dropped the ball I was able to call a local plumber that was happy to take the business and did a great job! I wont be going with Roto rooter for my house or any of my rentals. They cant do the job.

The plumbing pussies as far as I’m concerned
Called them out to two of my rental properties on two separate occasions
One which the basement was actively flooding and we waited for hours for them
Then…
They call me and tell me they couldn’t do the job BOTH times either because they don’t have equipment needed or it was «too much of a Liability»
left me scrambling to find a new contractor at 6pm on a Saturday
thank goodness for small business plumbers
Super disappointed
Will never recommend them
If anything advise people not to call them and waste his/​her time

Really bad service and very expensive.
I called them to diagnose a water leak in my shower. They quoted $ 600 which I ok’d looking at the scope of work they wrote down. I assumed that if they did not have to do all that, it would not cost as much.
In the end, after 45 minutes of work and putting a dehumidifier in our house for 2 days, they still ended up charging the same amount. Their reasoning was that the rental was the actual cost. I could not believe that a dehumidifier would cost that much to rent. Would NOT recommend again. I emailed the guys to get a line item quote and never heard back.
Please do not use.

Came to apartment twice to fix two slow-​moving drains. First time through they successfully fixed one, but the second was unchanged. Second time through they again failed to fix the second drain. Had a *real* plumber come look at it and he found the problem in 10 seconds. Terrible, terrible terrible.

Needed to have the main waste line cleared of roots. The technician was able to arrive earlier than the time frame originally provided, which always helps.
He was kind and cordial and able to clear the heavy roots from the waste line.

It’s quite possible that a surprise clogged drain might have been where the saying «caught in a hairy situation» came from. I wouldn’t know, it didn’t seem to be hair that was our problem. My hair looks great.
But seriously.
We had made an appt with the fine folks at Roto-​Rooter for a floor drain to get checked out and fixed. Our initial 4 hour window was drawing near it’s close and still no word, so we rescheduled for later that day (today). We received the call that they were in the area and would be about 30 minutes from arrival. Fred (#4155), arrived right on time. We checked out the culprit drain together and he quickly got to work. His actual time spent fixing was rather swift. After going over what he did, classic plumbing issues/​disasters and some other related tales, Fred packed up his things and disappeared into the night. And, by the appearance of freshly fixed floor drain, he was never to be seen again…
