We went there for the first time and it was all good. It is clean and quiet, and the wait staff were very positive and upbeat. We had the deviled eggs appetizer, and it came with 4 different flavors; all of them good. I had the chimichurri philly sandwich and my husband had the Greek Salad. We split the rhubarb custard crisp and some coconut ice cream. They make their own ice cream and it was the best Ive had in a very long time. All the food was very good and filling. We actually went back the next night with a group of people, We had the tacos and a chicken meatball sandwich and it was just as good as the food the night before. I would totally recommend this place and plan on going back soon.

Great food, equally great service. Dog friendly patio. Friendly, neighborhood clientele. I like how they add an interesting twist or put a global spin to tried and true favorites.

Awesome menu and great little place. Should be a line out the door waiting to get in. The mole tacos awesome. And the diet busting donuts with peanut crème — yep would eat the whole thing.

Everyday happy hour from 4 – 6 and 8 – 10. Dog-friendly patio. Thursday date night for $ 35. Harriet Brewing on-tap. Good service. Great food. We are regulars here and will be back many more times to come. A little gem in the middle of a sleepy kind of neighborhood.

This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. Our family came here on a beautiful Saturday evening and sat out on the patio. We received great service from the head chef and thoroughly enjoyed all of his recommendations. We tried several appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and each exceeded my expectations. I am very excited to come back again and try the brunch.

Went for the date night special with two other couples. Everything was amazing! The barbecue ribs were some of the best I’ve ever had. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

The service and knowledge of the chefs at Pilgrimage surpassed expectations. My family went in for a going away celebration and we were doted on the entire time. Our drinks were always full and the chef was always quick to converse and joke. The food was absolutely stunning. The presentation was perfect and the taste out of this world. Each of us ordered very different meals and it was clear that every effort was put in the dishes to ensure perfection. Now for the dessert! I’m not a sweets person but I will be back for the peanut butter donut alone! Seriously, get dessert. We tried each option and every single one was amazing. Well done Pilgrimage!

Just wanted to update with another great brunch experience. I was hosting a Galentines Day brunch for my girl friends and my home is a bit too small to accommodate 10+ people so we did brunch at Pilgrimage. The service was outstanding, they were so accommodating of our large group, no issues with splitting the tab, and excellent service and food. We all had a great time, and I would absolutely bring a group to dine here again!

I am a sucker for a good date night deal. The boo and I love food but are often too busy to make decent meals every night of the week. I have made it my mission to find date nights at good restaurants on any night of the week. Pilgrimage Café does their date night on Thursdays from 4 – 10 pm. You get an appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert for $ 35. Perfect. The few times we have gone there, it has also been happy hour so we got 2−4 – 1’s on draft beer. You can’t beat a delicious, seasonal meal with beers for under $ 50 with tip. I wish I could remember all the dishes we have had at Pilgrimage, but we’ve hit up this joint too many times. I’ve had their bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. Delicious. I remember a wonderful fish rib entrée. Yes, fish rib. It was a pretty big rack of ribs and the meat was flaky and wonderful. It was seasoned perfectly. I have also gotten some sort of mac n’ cheese dish. Another time I got a squid ink pasta dish. I know that I have always loved the food we got. Including dessert. Try their peanut butter donuts. Yum. I really appreciate the portion sizes and the changing menu. Their food is creative and interesting. They have a few staples but it’s nice to go somewhere and know that you’ll have to try something new. As for the portion sizes, they are perfect. Never too much food and never too little. The richness of the food makes it reasonable to have smaller portions and I’ve always felt full after a meal there. In a perfect world, this place would move to St. Paul so that it could become my every Thursday spot. I am hoping to try one of their chef tasting dinners sometime!

I absolutely love the Pilgrimage Café. The location is perfect for anyone living on the south side of Minneapolis. They have a parking lot on the side of the building. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Personally, I haven’t been there for dinner yet, but I have been for brunch on several occasions. The Turkey Mole Benedict is amazeballs — and I’m not usually a fan of mole. The corn cake they sub for the traditional English muffin is so tasty and pleasantly unexpected. The lime hollandaise sauce is so creamy and flavorful. The fried yucca is a wonderful side vs the usually greasy hash browns you usually get with breakfast. and finally two words, bottomless mimosas!

I came here for Sunday brunch with some friends. We made a reservation, but the restaurant was pretty empty. We got the donuts because the Unilocal reviews seemed to like them; however, they were just okay. Anything French cruller style has my name written all over it, so I had high expectations. We got one each of the regular, blackberry jam and peanut butter. What was surprising was that they were served cold. We were not expecting that. I got the mole Benedict and it had no flavor. I enjoyed the fried yuca that it came with though. My friends got the classic Benedict, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and chilaquiles. They also said their food was bland and didn’t have much flavor. The service was good. Our coffee and mimosas were always full. The food, though, is nothing to write home about. I think Unilocal may have steered us wrong on Pilgrimage Café.

Went here for brunch and had one the mole benedicts with the lime hollandaise. It was good, but not great. I was hoping for something a little more zesty from the hollandaise given that the name of the sauce said LIME! The corn bread soufflé was also not my favorite… I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but I wasn’t expecting something with full kernels of corn. I want to come back and try the BBQ benedict! Overall decent experience. Definitely had some cool/interesting stuff on the menu!

Wonderful restaurant! A friend recommended this place and it was beyond amazing. Quiet and cozy, perfect for a date. Food was incredible, I had the steak and my girlfriend had the chicken. Appetizer and dessert were delicious, chef came out and visited with us several times during the meal. Highly recommend this location, one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Mpls!

Oh Pilgrimage Café, I am so disappointed! My bestie Mel loves you and I wanted to love you too! I’m not usually over in your neighborhood so after a long day of moving I was excited to visit. We arrived between 8:30 and 8:40pm. The man who showed us to our table smiled, brought menus and said he would bring some waters. Our waitress came over and brought waters. She then said, «we close at 9. I don’t know if the kitchen is still open, but I can bring you drinks.» In my mind I’m thinking I’ve never been to a restaurant where the kitchen closes early… a bar, yes,(and it usually says serving food until ‘x’ time) but a restaurant? I inquired about what time the kitchen closes and she said maybe 8:30 but she would go check. One star for whomever works in the kitchen who decided to serve us food! We had jalapeño poppers, asparagus and steak, shrimp rangoons and philly sandwich. I had an amazing ACE pumpkin hard cider and a second one that the waitress begrudgingly gave to me. The apps were good-I liked the red coulis with the steak the best. I like the rangoons but didn’t like the gravy. Poppers were good. The philly wasn’t very good at all. Not a lot of meat and fairly sour. We wanted to try a dessert but after dropping off our food, the waitress came back with our check signifying that we should hurry up and be done. There was another group in there drinking and chatting that wasn’t being pressured to leave but instead got a «so happy you came in.» Our bill was also incorrect which was fixed but I was annoyed with the whole situation. This dinner reaffirmed just how important service is to my dining experience. Different types of service really changes everything about a meal. Unfortunately this time it was for the worse.

Usually I don’t write a review weeks later but, this needs to be written. This place is great! We came in on a Thursday evening for our first visit. Boy were we surprised to find out it was date night! Usually that’s a early week thing. $ 40 for an appetizer, 2 entrees and one dessert. We had the tots(omg!) which were really good. I had the quinoa stuffed pepper, which was perfection. My date had the couscous with… I can’t recall but, he loved it. Then there was dessert. A lovely, decadent, chocolate dream-chocolate pots de crème. Yes, I thought I had died. Yum, yum, yum. If I could have done it, I would have liked that little mason jar clean. This is a must go place. And a go back place!

This was very good. I am a HUGE breakfast freak, specifically a benedict freak, so I love to try interesting unique twists on benedicts. When I came across this menu online, I was sold. When I got there, the place was empty, and I was the only one. There was someone from CityPages there doing a photo shoot of the turkey mole benedict and the peanut butter donuts. SOLD and SOLD, since they looked beautiful. I ordered the turkey mole benedict(sauce on the side!) and I noticed that they have peanut butter mousse donuts. OMG, be still my heart. Peanut butter and donuts are both of my favorite things. I asked the guy if he’s make me just one, since they come in orders of four. He said sure, since he was in the process of making a batch of dough anyways(YESSSSSS) The benedict was wonderful, with avocados and the corn cake thing instead of English muffin. It could’ve had a little more spice to it, but was solid. The yucca fries that it came with were decent. The donut. OHMYGOODNESS you NEED to get these donuts. Run, don’t walk. These donuts will change your life. It was pretty much the best thing I have ever eaten. Complete deliciousness! Fresh from the fryer, with the peanut butter mousse filling still cool inside. Amazing.

After seeing the great early reviews for Pilgrimage Café, I decided to make my way over to Powderhorn on Sunday morning to see what all the fuss was about. Not going to lie, I was pretty stoked for this visit. Between the stellar reviews and the original, varied menu, I was looking forward to one of the better brunches I’ve had in awhile. Even with all of the hype, Pilgrimage exceeded my expectations. The restaurant was fairly tiny, but my party of two was seated very quickly, even during a pretty peak hour for Sunday brunch. I expect this will change shortly as PC gets more exposure. This place definitely deserves the business. We started with the peanut butter mousse donuts. Absolutely delicious, handmade, fluffy balls, full of light and creamy peanut-buttery goodness. Great, light start to the meal and unlike any other donuts I’ve had in the metro. I also ordered a cup of the Mexican hot chocolate, which was perfect in every way and spiced just right. For the main course, we ordered two of the benedicts. Benedicts are my benchmark for how good a restaurant’s brunch is, and these did not disappoint. I had the mole benedict. This might have been the most flavorful benedict I’ve ever had. The combination of the turkey mole, perfectly cooked poached egg, avocado, and lime hollandaise was mouth-wateringly savory. Instead of the typical English muffin, the concoction was served on chipa guazu, which is a Paraguayan cornbread soufflé that I had never tried before. It added a nice little corn sweetness to the dish. Another nice touch to the dish was the small side of yuca breakfast«potatoes» that was served alongside the benedict. Great addition of a little more Latin flavor(I’m also a huge sucker for yuca, which helps). I also had a bit of the BBQ benedict. The carnitas were very tender and the bbq sauce added a spicy kick. Good stuff. I wanted to try one of the sandwiches, as well, but I was stuffed. Our server recommended I could take one home for a late lunch, and I obliged by ordering the pastrami on rye. They even packaged the sandwich and meat separately from the toppings for me, so it wouldn’t get soggy before I could eat it. When I did finally get around to it, it was phenomenal. The sandwich has a healthy amount of pastrami topped with orange mayo and spicy, citrus-marinated onions. I don’t know how it works, but everything comes together to make a five-star sandwich. I had it cold, but you can also order this particular one hot, which I’m sure is even more delicious. Our server was incredibly energetic and very knowledgeable about the menu. You could tell he really cared about the restaurant. The chef/owner came out and talked to us a few times to see how our meal was going. Everything about the experience was great, and I’ll certainly be back to try the dinner menu(that maultaschen makes my mouth water just thinking about it). Will definitely be telling all my friends and coworkers about this great new addition to the Minneapolis food scene.
