Stopped at MilkJam on the way home from the airport the other night — I didn’t want my vacation to end so I thought a little ice cream would help! There was a short line, but plenty of staff so it moved along quickly. Everyone was very friendly and excited to talk about the flavors. I tried a few before deciding on a half scoop of Ridin’ Durrty — oreo milk, oreo chunks, and peanut butter chunks. The half scoop was about the size of a golf ball and the perfect size for me. The champagne sorbet was amazing, but more suited for me in the warmer months. I can’t wait to get it often in the spring/summer! I’m excited to see what fun, interesting flavors MilkJam comes up with.

Milkjam Creamery is located right next to World Street Kitchen accessible from WSK or from outside. I heard about this new place from Instagram… drooling over the photos from all my foodie friends and I HAD to go. I went on their«soft open» time, but now they are fully open! One of the main reasons why I loved this place was because they have a jam bun — a donut(from Glam Doll) with ice cream in the middle + toppings if you want! I’m not aware of any other places in the city with donut ice cream sandwiches and I always make sure to get some while visiting Chicago, California, etc. When I saw that on the menu, it was love at first site. I ordered that with fruity pebbles topping and it was delicious — the donut was warm and the toasted coconut ice cream was super tasty. I’ve heard about the chef specials too which always look delicious. The shop is super cute with fashionable décor! I highly appreciate the beautiful atmosphere and the well designed branding. It is a small space, so seating is limited. Tons of interesting flavors and super friendly employees — I would highly recommend to check this place out!

I went here for ice cream on recommendation of a friend who had wrote an article on the opening. I drove past it a few times because they don’t have a huge sign indicating that they are indeed MilkJam, but it’s connected to WISK, so try not to miss it! There’s a pretty vast selections of flavors, and they’re all unique. Fresh Thyme, Pumpkin Butter, and of course, a classic vanilla(EVV). I went with the fresh thyme and it was awesome. It’s pretty spendy so be sure to sample a few flavors before you commit to buying a cone. I was hoping for a lavender flavor, but maybe MilkJam will rotate some flavors in and out depending on the seasons. I look forward to seeing what else they come up with. The ice cream itself was delicious. I went to San Francisco this summer and it rivaled some of the ice cream I had there. You can tell they’re using quality ingredients. My friend and I snagged the last table in a small room, so be aware that you might not get a spot if it’s busy. My one issue with this place is the policy they have on toppings and sauces. The employee asked if I wanted to try my lemon thyme cone with sauce and I agreed, not realizing that all toppings are $ 1 regardless of how much you get. Essentially I got 1.5 teaspoons of a sauce on top of my cone for a dollar extra. They’ll definitely try to upsell toppings and sauces to you, but I would skip them based on principle. If customers already spending upwards of $ 5+ on a scoop of ice-cream, toppings and sauces should be complimentary(within reason). Overall I think it’s great, though. A better alternative to Izzy’s and Sebastian Joe’s.

After first visit, it is my favorite ice cream place. We had Ridin’ Duurty, Cereal Killer(kids) and Black Fig and Mezcal and ice cream sandwich. I also wanted to try cake but it was not ready. All ice creams were great. Atmosphere, fantastic. They opened the door to WSK, so there was enough space to sit. Line was rather long but moving surprisingly fast. Staff was helpful.

I happened upon this place during their soft opening while visiting World Street Kitchen, the parent of MilkJam, both ran by owner and chef Sameh Wadi. If you’re in the neighborhood, make an effort to check out MilkJam, one of the more unique creameries I’ve ever been to. Their flavors are incredible although the selection is limited at any given time. Their electronic menu shows their daily menu of flavors and their staff will happily let you try all of them. Being very new, service is currently pretty slow but I would expect them to pick up efficiency over time. It doesn’t help that everyone in front of you is also trying every flavor as well! I got myself a cup of Black and Grandma’s Blueberry Crumble, two of my favorites from the opening menu. I actually asked for two half scoops, stopped the server mid-way as they tried to give me a whole scoop, and still confusedly ended up with two whole scoops. I ultimately paid for two scoops as I would have felt bad to weasel myself into a single scoop charge. I definitely got more delicious ice cream than I originally intended. Black was definitely the highlight of the show for chocolate lovers, rich in flavor and not too sweet. Pricing is somewhat on the high side. I think overall it is pretty reasonable for the unique flavors but there is a ton of competition from more traditional shops and even grocery stores. I’m really hoping to stop by in a few weeks to see how they evolve!

***Not your average or traditional creamery*** And I love that … Milk jam is located right next to World Street Kitchen therefore you may park in WSK’s lot or on the street. We nabbed a space right in front of the creamery on the street. We arrived a half hour before closing time and it was packed! The store is very small/cramped but has a cute and modern atmosphere! Love the wall paper/decal patterns! The flavors are presented on a HUGE tv screen for all to see and ponder in line. So that reduces questions or inquiries on what the flavors are. I wonder if they change up flavors? Anyways, lets get to the pros and cons! Pros: The flavors on the screen are actual pictures of the ice cream(image & description) The staff/owner asks customers if they’ve been helped and actually gets the line moving. The wait looks intimidating but it goes quick! Staff is friendly on answering questions! Price — not bad for the amount you get! They hook it up :) They serve alcohol Black napkins — classy! Sophisticated feel Cons: Limited ice cream flavors — I’ll admit I love it when there’s an overwhelming amount of flavors to choose from. Small shop Very limited seating/space to enjoy your dessert They were out of waffle cones —(I’ve NEVER been to an ice cream shop that ran out of waffle cones) They only have sugar or waffle cones — what about the awesome cake cones? Cake Cones are forever! They didn’t have the doughnut ice cream sandwich(ran out) If you’re looking for a ritzy non traditional ice cream spot — this is it! Give it a try! I’ll be back for sure!

ATTENTION people with dairy/gluten allergies or strict vegans: I came over here after a delicious dinner at WSK. I noticed that some of their flavors were gluten and vegan so I was very excited. I have a dairy allergy so to be able to try some of this delicious ice cream was a dream come true. I ordered 2 half scoops one coconut and one called«black». I noticed that the same scoop that was just used for the dairy ice cream was dipped in water and then used for mine. I asked the kid who was scooping it and he said, «we use the same scooper for all the favors» so I said, «ok so you have a bucket of water, in which you put the scoops back into, that is swirling with milk and gluten?» He said yes. Then he said, «in fact we put all the ice cream through the same machine because they are $ 50,000 dollar each and we can’t buy another one just for vegan I ice cream so nothing in this shop is completely«vegan» or «gluten free». Umm ok… So my issue is you can’t advertise that you are«vegan» and«gluten free» when that’s not true or at least add a disclaimer on your menu. Without that to me it is misleading and false advertising and most importantly could make people sick. I gave 2 stars because at least the people were nice.

YUM. I’m really picky about ice cream. I don’t like it that much, but this place changed my mind– the flavor choices and different selections compared to the majority of ice cream shops around makes this new shop stand out!

All of the flavors are unique, even the classics. The waffle cones never drip, and their scoops are properly large without being too much. I adore it here, and the chocolate chip marshmallow sea salt cookie is phenomenal, a serious must try. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys high quality deliciousness.

Let me make this simple and concise. My boyfriend and I made it a mission to try all the hidden ice cream gems in Minnesota this past summer. With all of our countless options, I had yet to find my favorite. This is it. Creamy and rich, yet not overwhelmingly sweet ice cream. Interesting, unique flavors, enough to accommodate for everyone’s taste preferences with unique toppings as well. Awesome, friendly service. My personal tip: get multiple half scoops($ 3 each) if you’re unsure of which flavor you want and you want to try multiple, or get a single($ 4.25) or double scoop($ 7.50) if you’re sure on a flavor. Scoops come in a cup, or a sugar cone. A waffle cone is an additional $ 1.25. Two flavors I enjoyed were Milkjam and Cereal Killer. Try it. You won’t be sorry!

Enjoyed my first visit here. I didn’t love all of the flavors but the variety is interesting and the quality is clear. I had the Ridin Duurty which is Oreos, peanut butter and Oreo milk. Try it. I dare you not to like it. You can taste anything and the chefs specials look amazing. This is a perfect addition to the neighborhood.

If you’re like me and never imagined that fig and mezcal could be a match made in ice cream heaven, then we should thank the Treat Yo’self gods that people like Sameh Wadi exist. Milkjam is churning out incredible flavor combinations(get it? because it’s ice cream?) that are innovative, and feel complimentary, to the World Street Kitchen vibe that’s been doing its thing right next door for years. The boy and I stopped in last night during one of their soft opening days, which thankfully meant that it wasn’t as busy as I suspected it might be. After walking through the front door you’ll be immediately greeted by a flat screen showing off the available flavors of the day. And flavors, there are. Everything from Poppin’ Bottles(champagne) to EVV(extra virgin vanilla) to thai tea to black chocolate to passion fruit hibiscus is on the menu, so good luck with not wanting to order all of them. The good news? You can! $ 56 buys you a scoop of each. I tried a sample of the Indian Elvis, which is reminiscent of the peanut buttery pretzel curry cookie that WSK has been selling for years, before deciding to go with the fig and mezcal single scoop. And I say with full certainty that ITWASTHEBEST and I have no regrets, besides not immediately getting back in line for another round of ice cream transcendence. Sameh himself was working the ice cream line and was very chatty about how the soft opening was going and the excitement surrounding his new venture. Cool to see a chef of his caliber excited about serving up scoops of ice cream behind the counter. He’s also your go-to guy if you decide to order the«WWCD(What Would Chef Do?)», in which $ 8.50 will get you an ice cream sundae concoction crafted by the man himself. From what I’ve seen, it’s typically a scoop of ice cream nestled on top of one of the baked goods they have for sale, ranging from caramel brownies to fruit crisp bars to cookies, topped with many of their finishing touches, including honeycomb candy, curried peanuts, etc. In addition to the amazing creativity of the flavors, Milkjam also provides tons of unique options for doctoring up your order, including the option of making a float from champagne, 21+ beer, or lambic. Also Glam Doll donut ice cream sandwiches(called a Jambun). According to the menu, pints and ice cream cakes and pies will also be available soon. Basically, what I’m saying is that I’m in love and you should be too. Just get here.

We headed through the doorway after a great dinner at WSK to check out the new offerings. It was opening weekend and the line was long, but the wait was worth it. There were the typical opening jitters(out of one flavor, waffle cone machine broke) but the service was friendly and the desserts were fabulous. My wife had the curry peanut butter(Indian Elvis) ice cream in a cup. She really liked it, but it wasn’t my style. I had a double scoop, one of the chocolate/caramel(Hard Knock Life) and their proprietary version of sweet cream(3 Milks) in a non-homemade waffle cone. Wow. The flavors of those ice creams were awesome. Together they played of each other so well. My wife took some of my Hard Knock Life and mixed it with her Indian Elvis and she liked her selection even more! Definitely make this a must stop after dinner at WSK, or after dinner at any restaurant in Uptown for that matter. I have no reason to think those opening hiccups won’t be fixed and I can’t wait to go back and try more flavors!

MilkJam Creamery! I just discovered this place last week and have been waiting all week to try it! MilkJam Creamery is owned by the same people that own World Street Kitchen and Saffron! Shh, I have yet to try those places, but I will soon! Anyhow, this place has some bomb ice cream! I call this the blend of Izzy’s and Grand Olé’ Creamery! The ice cream is rich and creamy like from Grand Olé’ Creamery and unique flavors like from Izzy’s. So far it’s only open as a soft opening and some of the items on the menu are limited. For example, they only had waffle cones, which were bomb by the way, and no sugar cones. The line was pretty busy on a Sunday night, I can imagine the line getting much longer once their Grand Opening hits. Be sure for a wait, even during winter! The flavors here are very very unique! That’s one of the things I look out for in an ice cream shop. Unique twists on classic flavors or flavors that can’t quite be found in other ice cream joints. They got amazing flavors here such as the MilkJam, Cereal Killers, Thai Tea, Hard Knock Life(Dark Chocolate with salted pretzels, brownies, and chocolate fudge), Black(My favorite — Dark Cocoa!) and sorbets like Mulled Cider(Apple Cider Sorbet) and Poppin’ Bottles(Champagne sorbet). I opted for the 2 scoop in a waffle cone — Hard Knock Life and Black. Hard knock life was really good. Strong chocolate flavor with bunches of brownies, fudge, and pretzels. I didn’t taste much pretzel, but it’s in there! The brownie bites in it were delicious though! The black was definitely my favorite of the 2. It’s very strong cocoa taste. If you like dark chocolate, then you’ll definitely like this flavor as well! Service here is also pretty good. A little hectic, but not bad. They messed up my order and they gave me the messed up scoop of Ridin’ Duuurty which is oreo milk with oreo chunks and salted peanut butter. I didn’t like it that much, but that’s because I’m not a big fan of peanut butter. This place is a little pricey though! The double scoop was $ 7.50 plus an extra $ 1.25 for waffle cone. The portion is big though. My girlfriend got 2 half scoops of Thai Tea and MilkJam: I recommend that if you don’t want a big portion. I can’t wait to come back! I’ll definitely be back! Jammin’ MilkJam!

Drove past this evening and was surprised to see that it was already open. Being the lover of ice cream that I am(even when it’s 23 degrees outside), we had to stop. The flavors were creative and intriguing. It was hard to decide what to order. We sampled the Indian Elvis, perhaps the most creative flavor of the bunch. While I love peanut butter, banana and curry, it was a bit much all together. We both agreed that it would good as an Izzy, but not so good as a full scoop. I chose the Cereal Killers(orange coriander milk and candied fruity pebbles). It was delicious. I could have eaten an entire pint. My husband wanted Drivin’ Duurty, but sadly they were out. His second choice was Black Fig Mezcal. It was boozy and quite tasty. I am delighted that it’s within walking distance of our house. We will soon be back. It’s amazing and we’re looking forward to trying their other flavors.

I came here after several people told me how good it was. OHMYGOD. It was better than good. It was phenomenal. They have super innovative flavors and a rad selection of different things you can try. Want a boozy ice cream float? They can put champagne, beer or hard cider in with your sweet treat. Want a jam bun? It’s ice cream smoothed between a Glam Dolls glazed donut. Go here and go wild. Treat yo’ self.
