A great local thrift store that is here for a good cause. To the best of my knowledge, proceeds go to support families in Sri Lanka who are in need of assistance. Very friendly folks who own /operate this place. They are always looking for donations, and volunteers to help run the store. It could be a good way to give back to your local community! It’s a nice change of pace from the Salvation Army’s, GoodWill’s, and Value Villages scattered though out the metro area — this is «the real deal» small, family-oriented thrift store on the East side of Bloomington near HWY77& East Old Shakopee Road. Although I thoroughly enjoy patronizing this business, there are a few things that could help it be a better run business. Having a neon«Open» sign would help me see if it’s open or not when driving by since the hours of operation sign is too small to read at a glance. Having some sort of banner or logo on the broad side of the building would help drive traffic here as well! Simple things like balloons and streamers outside might pull some more people in. Building«Brand Awareness» is going to be key to it’s long-term survival. There used to be a «Sherry’s Antiques» building where the parking lot for this building & the All American Recreation now share, so there was already a «thrift store» presence at one point in time that just needs to be brought back to life! Also, the social-networking is lacking. A regularly updated facebook page is almost a must in today’s day and age. Posting about current sales might entice their digital following to flock to their store, rather than simply posting a sign in the window. I wish them all the success in the world. I hope this review helps persuade some of you to stop by and check it out. Lot’s of square footage to be explored in there! I’m partial to coffee cup collecting myself! :D
