AYCE King Crab… If that doesn’t win a place five stars, then what does, right? Well for starters, we got a great deal of AYCE King Crab legs for $ 29.95. That is an amazing price, especially because this isn’t snow crab but KING crab, the big ones! The food was very tasty and the servers made sure to keep the crab coming. The food was very good, except for the biscuits that would have been better served up warm then cold, but eh I came for the crab, so more room in my stomach for that I guess. The service here was exceptional. Yes, we had a very cute baby with us so that garnered some attention probably, but everyone we passed made to say hello and smile. Our server was great, he was quick and made sure to go out of his way to wait on us at all times. He never let my plate get empty! The atmosphere was dark woods, low lighting, and lots and lots of windows. I liked it very much. It is also cool to have it right across the street from Loring Park. Reminds me of a very mini New York-ism. Their brunch sounds interesting and I sure can’t be bottomless mimosas. With so many options around, it is nice to see this place trying to be different.

This used to be a favorite brunch hotspot. Unfortunately the restaurant has gone down hill. They’ve really lost quality and began using the cheapest available product. The food is mediocre at best. Even the menus are simply laminated on 8.5×11 paper. Next, if you order the bottomless mimosas, expect bottomless orange juice. I’ve also asked to just skip the OJ and pay extra for cranberry to go with my sparkling wine and apparently that is a no no. Finally, the server was nice but left much to be desired. Maybe she was stretched too thin or new, but the service was Applebees level or less. I really am not one to go on and on and put down a restaurant as I’ve worked in one for over a decade and I know that things happen. You can’t always rely on one or two visits to get to know a place, but sadly I think this place is done. I write this review in hopes that it will return to its old glory. For now, myself and lots of my friends have no intent on returning any time soon.

What happened? Living across the street, the Loring Kitchen has always been a great place to go for dinner, drinks, or brunch. It used to be a favorite. Not any more. The food has changed… it used to be interesting, innovative, and very good. The new menu features boring pub fare. Tasteless, bland, stupid food. You get half a glass of wine and disinterested, high-school-first-job servers. To be fair, our server tried hard, but ran into too many problems. Tonight was the tipping point. We ordered an appetizer(chicken drummettes that seemed to have migrated from a suburban Applebee’s) and two entrees. Ten minutes later, my partner received his entrée while the appetizer was set at my place. My entrée apparently got lost, but no one was interested in finding it for another 10 minutes or so. I have nothing to add, except we won’t be returning to enjoy the bland fare, poor service, Elton John oldies on the music track, or big screen baseball. So sad.

Like the brunch alot, makes a quality bloody Mary. And the location is perfect, right next to beautiful Loring Park. I do wish their brunch hours were longer but the staff is very accomodating as well. Once again the weekend only brunch is a bummer but the lunch menu isn’t bad either, i usually go with the sliders.

10:45 on a saturday morning perfect time to get here! Was greeted by 3 hosts got to pick any table. Was immediately given water by a server assistant. 10 $ botomless mimosas. Need i say more? It was a beautiful restaurant with wonderful people. Food came quick just like the sever said. Our drinks never sat empty for long because other servers were comming around with pitchers refilling them! Love a total team restaurant! I was super apprehensive to come here from all the bad reviews on Unilocal.Over half of them were doing pride weekend. Any idiot knows that minnesota has of the largest pride weekends ever so I don’t let that sway my opinion of trying to place out. 2 botomless drinks and 2 meals will set ya back 50 $ not bad for a morning with the girls! ***Fyi if your picky about eggs on your eggs Benedict make sure you request for them to be super runny! My friends were cooked to long thats my only complaint**

I have been to Loring Kitchen a handful of times and have enough negative experiences to say I have learned my lesson. Last time I went with a large group with reservations. The reservation was made online for the maximum number of people(ten) but when we showed up with two extra people the host seemed super annoyed. He made a big show about recruiting several people to move two chairs to the ends of the tables they had already pushed together to accommodate the group. The staff generally has been rude on every occasion I have visited. The people who bus tables do so in such a forceful and aggressive fashion(for example, reaching around your head/body without any verbal warning to snatch your cups away) that several people commented on it during my last visit. On that note, I ordered a diet coke on my last visit and it was served in a glass so short and narrow that my first thought was«my dick has more girth than this cup…». After I finished off my first glass(probably about two ounces of soda) the cup was instantly snatched away. I then waited for a refill for about fifteen minutes, during which I was quite thirsty and regreted not ordering a water, which came in a slightly wider glass. Eventually I decided to assertively communicate my needs so that I wasn’t just moping. The problem was that our waiter seemed to have vanished. Like a total annoying dumbass, I sauntered up to the bar where the only consistently visible staff seemed to congregate. I said«so I have a dumb question: does pop here come with refills?». The answer was«yes, talk to your waiter». So I sat down again. They must’ve tipped off the waiter because he appeared moments later and asked«can I help you with something? «I asked for a refill. I received one other glass of soda during the hour plus visit. In addition to the poorly portioned beverages, the food is also disappointing in quantity and quality. Average tasting macaroni is $ 15 and probably an equivalent serving to half of a box of Kraft dinner. The pizza looked and tasted like something you’d order off the kid’s menu at the Golden Corral. The salad was a tiny and sad pile of lettuce. I left feeling thirsty and hungry, which is hardly a feeling worth paying for.

I went here today for lunch and ordered the beet salad with chicken. It came with chicken dumpling soup which was pretty good. The chicken was really nice though. Well seasoned and a little charcoal burn on the edges. The salad was what I expected with Gorgonzola and red beets, they were out of the yellow. It was a little pricey considering the portion size but overall the food was good.

There are lot of changes happening at LKB and let me tell you, they’re all amazing! Our server, Alex, was wonderful! She was super helpful and gave amazing recommendations. The food and service were out of this world! I would highly recommend starting off with the cheese curds, they’re state fair quality for a great price. Being a vegetarian, I was very happy with the flavorful veggie burger that I ordered and my boyfriend wouldn’t stop raving about the loring burger. LKB is up to something amazing and I would highly recommend stopping in and checking it out!

We went to LKB for brunch during Pride weekend. We thought it would be a good experience close to the park. I had never been there before, and they had some sort of special menu for Pride apparently. Shockingly, it wasn’t that crowded on a Saturday morning. Despite being surrounded by empty tables, we waited 10 – 15 minutes before a server even acknowledged our presence. We complained when a server eventually appeared(we flagged one down), and she apologized but we were not offered anything for the poor initial service. The food was pretty terrible. We initially wanted bloody mary’s but our server steered us away, saying there were complaints. We asked for a sample of the mix, and it tasted like pasta sauce. Like, straight up marinara. The server smelled it and agreed, saying that maybe some member of the staff mixed up the two. So we had to settle for mimosas. They were warmer than room temperature and served in plastic cups. we also had to wait about another 10 minutes for them to arrive, even though we had been ignored after we were seated. So, an extremely disappointing drink experience. Let’s move on to food. First of all, it took forever. We were probably there 45 – 60 minutes before we got any food. Again, hardly anyone seated in the restaurant. I ordered a burger, and my companions ordered a breakfast called the Standard. My burger was a pre-made patty and overcooked. It didn’t have the cheese I wanted. It had no cheese. The fries weren’t hot and overly salty. The standard breakfast was eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. It was meh. The toast didn’t even have butter or anything on it. I know it was an exceptional weekend, but I had been hoping for a better experience. I won’t be coming back. I would avoid for any special event or any time they have a special menu. I’ll give them two stars for convenience to the park.

All you can drink mimosas. I probably don’t need to provide any additional commentary, but if that’s not enough for you… the location near the park has such a lovely view. There is lots of nice outdoor seating and the windows open to expose even indoor diners to the outdoor air in the summer. The brunch menu is small, with mostly savory standards like omelets and scrambled eggs with toast. I tried the croissant with bacon, eggs, cheese and spinach which was a generous breakfast. The puffy croissant was delicious and I loved the side of spiced potatoes too. Pair that with a consistently topped off mimosa, a nice waitress and a short stroll from uptown and you have one happy customer, yours truly. I would absolutely come back, especially on a nice day where I could waste a few hours stopping champagne and soaking up some sun.

Went there with a couple friends on a Saturday — made reservations for 5 p.m. We were brought water for the table and then we waited for a while and no one brought us menus. There was a happy hour menu on the table which they pointed out to us. However– they did not clearly mention that they don’t serve their full menu until 6 p.m. So after waiting a bit more we inquired about the menu and we were then told about no full menu until 6:00 p.m. While each of us ordered the Loring Burger — the burger itself was good. They could serve a few more fries with the plate though. I ordered a cosmo and after it came in a cute little glass(at least it was filled to the rim) I have a few sips and then the server came out and said«oh I’m sorry — your drink wasn’t made right, they didn’t put the lime on the rim» At that point she had a tiny lime peel and ran it around the rim of the glass in front of me. This seemed really odd! The service could have been better — it was not they busy and our server wasn’t that attentive. Will give it another chance — but there is room for improvement.

I’m willing to give this place another chance, but my recent experience there was pretty disappointing. The two big issues were the service(our waiter disappeared for a long time and it was other people who brought us all of our food) and the portions. It’s one of my restaurant pet peeves when you omit the meat from a dish(in this case speck) and don’t give me more of the other stuff or at least charge me less. I ended up with about five bites of pasta. They were good bites, but it hardly qualified as an entrée, though I paid an entrée price. I’m also suspicious about the French fries. Part way through I started questioning whether they were cooked in animal fat. Being vegetarian, this was pretty concerning but our waiter was nowhere to be found and when he finally appeared and we could ask, he didn’t know and never got back to us with an answer. So this is still a mystery, but if they are not vegetarian, the restaurant really needs to have a note on the menu.

I like this place mostly because it’s within walking distance of me and because $ 10 bottomless mimosas are hard to beat. Every time I’ve gone, the food is great(stuffed French toast can’t be beat), but the service doesn’t always match. It’s very hit-or-miss, and based on the other reviews I’ve seen of this place, that’s status quo. Still, it’s a good brunch spot and always a good pick for a patio happy hour in the summer.

Now this place gets a two star vote for me mainly because of the service. During my time in Minne this was very close to my home. I love happy hour and brunch with bottomless mimosas and this was a spot that had both. I always got the steak sliders for happy hour and a margarita and that was always good. When it comes to other orders though I cannot same the same. I tried the fried chicken one night and it was brought out to me undercooked. I liked the burger which they used to let you select two toppings for. I always selected cheese and bacon. I go to pick up two burgers for My mom and I one night(which totaled to about $ 35/pricey) and find out that the rules have changed, I have to be charged extra for the bacon. I was feeling kind of cheap that night and I was a little irritated because I double checked with the girl on the phone during my order so I asked that I just dont get bacon on my sandwich then. Instead of making a fresh burger the hostess tells me that she is going to take it in the back and just peel the cheese and bacon off. Irritated I left and never returned. Every time friends from work wanted to go again I asked that we pick another place. That hostess was so rude I never wanted to spend my money here again. And I didnt.

I’ve been to this place three times. I love this place. I love the ambiance and the sophistication of this place. The layout of this place is beautiful, from the arrangements to the lighting. Those are just some of the details of this place that makes it so beautiful to look at when walking along the sidewalk. This is a great place for a romantic dinner or a celebration. For me, my visits here were for celebration. A lot of people mistake this place for a neighborhood restaurant, probably because of the location. I don’t see this place as such. I see it as a hidden fancy place surrounded by a lot of apartments. The waiters here clearly know how to do their jobs. A couple of them who have served me had a good sense of humor. The drinks and food are delicious. All three visits, I had the steak with a martini. The employees clearly aim to keep this place clean and well organized. When I’m in the area and in need of a good celebration, I will come back to this place. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Seriously can’t wait to try brunch this summer on their huge patio! Really great quality food for the price. I had an oyster pizza and it was awesome. The mushrooms and the goat all complemented each other really well. The bacon Mac and cheese is to die for. Oh and did I mention the sweet potato fries?

When my six friends and I finally found the front door to Loring Kitchen and Bar on Saturday night and walked inside, I felt like I had stepped into a trendy restaurant in Dallas. The décor was upscale, sleek, and glossy. The bartender was shaking a shaker like there was no tomorrow. I felt excited, mostly because we had actually found the front door, so let’s talk about that front door for a moment… it’s tucked away, accessible from the courtyard of the building. We had a short wait while our table was being cleared. I ordered a Lucid beer(tap) and was shocked to find that it was only $ 3.95/pint. The beer was delicious. My friends ordered various«truth serums» ranging from wine to liquor. Our table was in the back of the restaurant, near the bathrooms. The good news about this part of the restaurant is that we were far from the front door and the cold air every time the door opened. The bad news about this part of the restaurant is that it is secluded and I felt that service lacked a bit because of it. I had to «European wave» our server down twice. Perhaps she thought we wanted to be left alone as we ordered course-after-course which is atypical of any American restaurant ordering style. I guess I’d rather have to European wave to get a server’s attention rather than have the server stopping over every 10 – 15 minutes asking if everything is OK and if we needed anything. To start, we ordered the crab cakes and calamari. I’m not a huge fan of calamari but tried a piece anyway. It was rubbery. The crab cakes were delicious. Crab cakes don’t really exist in the UK, so any chance I have to order them, I do. I wish I would have ordered them for my main but I instead ordered the fillet of steak. The steak was a good portion size — not too small nor too big. It was cooked more on the medium-well done side rather than the rare-medium side which I would have preferred. It was a bit dry and I added a quick grind of salt but overall, pretty good. The bleu cheese has browns and brussel spouts below the steak had a case of the bleus — too much bleu cheese! Way, way, way too much. Added to the fact is that I really dislike bleu cheese. Had the cheese been cheddar or no cheese at all, I would have been in heaven. Overall, we had a really good experience. Would definitely return.

This was an absolutely perfect place for an early Saturday brunch with a great friend. The patio was huge and the weather was warm and sunny. Facing a park we had great views of greenery and some good people watching too. Service was polite and friendly and as we were seated our server took our drink order. Though $ 10 bottomless mimosas seemed tempting, I was in the mood for some coffee and juice. A little disappointed that the grapefruit juice wasn’t fresh squeezed, but not enough to not order it. I’m not too familiar with a lot of brunch places that don’t fresh squeeze their juices. I wonder if that’s the case with the orange juice for the mimosas as well? Being a tourist I absolutely had to get the corn pancakes. I’d never heard of such a thing! With cotija cheese and honey butter, they were a total hit. Each pancake is the size of a human head, so watch out! You could easily split this dish with another adult. In fact, I was also curious to try the caramel cinnamon bun and ordered it as well. I really wish the server had warned me that it was the size of a football. Combine that with my massive order of pancakes and it was like 3 full meals. I do really wish that the server had warned me about the amount of food I was about to eat. Worse yet, the caramel bun didn’t come with an accurate description on the menu. Not only was it unclear how large it was, it came with a rum caramel sauce. And while I know that the cooking process burns the alcohol off, the taste of alcohol doesn’t go away. And I love a good cocktail, trust me. But if there’s one thing I absolutely don’t eat(and maybe I’m in the minority?) it’s desserts or foods made with booze. And what about little kids or people who are sober? It seems like a huge no-no not to tell customers that a menu item has liquor in it. Overall it was a really cute place with a lot of heart and some good, HUGE portions. Lots of bang for your buck here. But there were a few missteps that made the experience slightly less than awesome. I’d still recommend that people give it a try, but just ask more questions before you order.
