I’ll keep this short, sweet and to the point — if you want a salon experience, don’t go here; if you need a quick trim, give this place a chance. I was around the Nicollet Avenue area, getting my phở on of course, and needed a quick trim of the hair… gotta keep up the new dew :-) There is another hair joint just down the street, but it was wicked busy and I didn’t feel like waiting 30 minutes; so, I found this place and decided to try it out. Now…as an Asian guy, our hair can be a challenge to cut — especially those that have the typical straight Asian-hair — I happen to have weird curly Asian-hair(damn genes!). This place(like many Asian salons), there isn’t a style request, you simply sit in the chair and the stylist gives you a magical hair cut. This is what happened, I sat down(after a 10 minute wait), she walked around me, examining the mess on my skull and starting cutting away. Out came the buzz cutter, then scissors and after 15 minutes, a crazy master piece of hair cutting appeared in the mirror. Clearly a lot of trust goes into the hands of the stylist — if you can roll with that, stroll in and see what happens — otherwise, go to another quick-cuts place or shell out $ 60 for a salon experience. *accepts cash/credit*

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. They deserve to be put out of business. I would NEVER recommend this salon to anyone who likes to get a decent haircut.(Despite the name on Unilocal,I believe this place is actually called Le’s Beauty Salon & Permanent Make Up, not Skin Care & Permanent Makeup — so don’t start off by faulting me for not going to a hair stylist!) I’ve been growing out my hair for the past 4 years, from chin-length to below-my-bra length. I told the male stylist that cut my hair that I hadn’t been to a salon in half a year and I wanted to trim a couple inches and do a bit of layering, but that I like my long hair and that I was getting married in a few months and needed my hair long to put up for the wedding. He interpreted this as me wanting«holiday hair.» That should’ve been my first indication that he was not listening, at all. He proceeded to chop off my hair into layers that were now RIGHTBELOWMYEAR… before I realized that this was ALL my hair in layers and not just the front, it was too late and there was no turning back. I kept telling him that I wanted to keep it long, but he just would not listen at all. In the end, I was close to tears and told him it was too short, and he told me that he gave me MEDIUMLAYERS, not SHORTLAYERS. WTF. My hair is now ruined, and I cannot do the wedding hairstyle that I initially planned. I have never cried over a haircut, but what he did to my hair makes me literally angry everytime I look in the mirror. This guy is the worst stylist I’ve ever been to, never listened to a word I said, and still managed to keep a goofy grin on his face and looked pleased like this was the best haircut he’d ever given. If you care for your hair, stay far away. This douchebag does not deserve to be called a hair stylist, and this place needs to shut down. They primarily serve Vietnamese customers, and maybe they actually listen to someone who speaks Viet — but this is the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my entire life, and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
