Used to be good. The nachos came out cold. The order wasn’t correct. I waited to eat while the waitress went to check if I got someone else’s order. 20 minutes later I was told that that was my order. My glass was empty the whole time. At this point, I didn’t eat the nasty old nachos and left hungry. I used to love this place, but not anymore.

Breakfast and brunch are great. Granted, it’s tricky to screw up breakfast food, but still. I’m not a Bloody Mary drinker, but of the few I’ve sampled, Legend’s is probably the best. Mimosas are decent. It’s a solid hangover breakfast spot.

Okay so the food is pretty good and the bloodies are the best in this area but the place has a horrid smell… Like old dish rags dipped in sour milk. Almost turned out to go somewhere else last time it was so bad.

My second visit and the food was MUCH better(breakfast) than before. Staff was excellent. The REAL problem was the smell. At first we thought it was something horrible left over from the night before(if you know what i’m thinking) but we returned after the Viking game and it was still as potent as it was before. Thought about eating again but didn’t due the sour milk smell. Will try again next year.

I was meeting some friends to watch a couple of different games. This is NOT the place to watch football. They have Dish but not Sunday Ticket. They literally had access to only one game at noon. One. Several tables got up and left when they realized that sad fact. One table told me they even called ahead and were told they’d have their game on. I asked for help but the waitresses and a bartender were clueless. My game was broadcast locally ironically. Just not there. Pathetic.

Legends has a nice outdoor patio with comfortable seating and the inside identifies as the classic Americana sports bar. The food is actually quite good. The 4 stars is mostly due to the service because our server was attentive and funny. Overall, Legends is a nice neighborhood spot.

A neighborhood staple and my go-to cheap Happy Hour. Half price apps are killer and go until 7pm, which is rare. My favorite is either the wings(spicy bbq or buffalo) or the barbecue pork quesadilla. Thursday mug chug and $ 0.50 wings are fantastic too. Will anything you eat be mind blowing? Probably not. But it’s a really solid, tasty, and CHEAP meal!

Stopped by for an hour, I don’t think that the appetizers are good, maybe leftovers in disguise? The Bacon on the Beef bites could of been seared first, then wrap it, undercooked pork could make you really sick! Service was good though. Next time I’ll pass this place up and try Eli’s across the street.

Average bar food. Service ok. All in all, they are alright. I cant really write a lot because I really feel indifferent to this place. We had 5 of us here on Saturday for lunch/brunch before heading to art a whirl… I have no impression, good or bad. I had ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which btw, is enormous… it was really 2 wraps and I had a side of coleslaw. I wasn’t overly impressed, but I wasn’t disappointed either. eh… i would come here is if i was in the area and a friend wanted too but I wouldn’t make a special trip.

One of the most laid back bar/grill places. They have the best bloody marys I’ve ever tried and I’m not a huge fan of bloodies. Quesadillas are fantastic! There’s a nice patio that fills up quickly especially on Fridays for Happy Hour and other days when the weather is nice. Military/Police/Fire Fighters also have a nice discount if you ask for it.

The Saturday/Sunday Bloody Mary mug special is amazing; they’re priced to bring in business and come with 5+ garnishes and include a small beer on the side.

Oh Legends, how do I feel about you. When I visited you when I was 21, I thought you were the greatest place ever and now that I live like 2 minutes away from you I can’t help but like you. I miss some of your deals, like the college night with 241 mugs, so good, so drunk. Anyways, I come here sort of often due to the distance and the cold winters we have to live through. They have a few beers on tap, usually appealing to everyone, with the American style beers and a few Crafts. Depending on the night, their drink deals can be ok. I always hope it will be busier on the weekends since it is huge. The basement usually has a DJ, but like 3 people are dancing, making it sort of sad. But with it being empty, the pool tables they have are usually always open and so are the darts. There food is pretty good for bar food, i feel like it is a little too expensive, but it is what it is. I got the appetizer pizza, which is probably the best deal, its huge, you choose three toppings, comes with a monster amount of cheese(yet is not too greasy!), and is like $ 10(The prices online are definitely lower than in house by a quarter or two) and very filling. Would probably be a good app for like 2 – 3 people, but pizza seems weird as an app for me. Is that just me? My friends have tried the sandwiches and wings, and said about the same thing, Not much to there.

My boyfriend and I originally wanted to go Eli’s, but they were on a 20 minute wait and we just wanted to grab some quick food. So we want Legends. I had just gotten off work, so I wanted to relax with a cold beer, and I was very unimpressed with their beer selection, so I just settled with a Mich Golden. After seeing that they had chicken wild rice soup I was very excited so I ordered soup and salad. When I got my meal, I literally laughed out loud. My soup was in a small ramekin, and my salad was huge and looked very unappealing. When I started eating, I was just as unimpressed. It tasted more like canned chicken noodle soup, and the salad tasted like water. Apparently very thing was house made. I think they should reconsider their chef or recipes. Long story short, for waste your time going here if you’re looking for good food and beer.

Want to go to brunch in your clothes from the night before and not be judged? Ding ding ding! Legends is your place. Their keep-me-coming-back-for-more specialty is their $ 7.5025oz Bloody. It comes with all your classic accoutrements(pickle, olive, etc.), but the shrimp and beef stick is what slays me. The mix is perfect — not too spicy, but enough kick to keep you interested. I always seem to forget that this, in itself, could be my meal, but I insist on ordering food, anyway. I’ll start off with saying this: if you’re going to get food, aim for their lunch menu. While their breakfast isn’t half bad, it’s just not worth it when you can get food like quesadillas(the artichoke chicken will change your life) or burgers. It’s so much food, you can eat for two or three days off of one serving #America. Whatever you do, though, don’t get the fiesta nachos. So much nacho and toppings, so little fiesta — eating them eventually becomes a chore(although my guy friends swear by them, time after regrettable time). If you’re going for a Saturday or Sunday Funday, get the breakfast shots — a pancake flavored liquor concoction chased with bacon. Who said liquid diets had to be cleansing?

Inconsistent. I went there on Friday night for dinner and a few drinks. The food and the service were excellent. I went there about six months ago and I had a horrible experience. The only reason I went back on Friday is because my wife wanted to check them out. So I’m averaging out both visits to three stars. The crowd is very interesting and eclectic. It was almost as fun watching weird customers as it was eating the all-you-can-eat fish for Friday. –Daddy Maxx Retro

A pretty nice bar and known for their big Bloody Mary’s! They are topped with shrimp, a beef stick, celery, olives and cheese. The service is good and they are military friendly. When I drilled at the Minneapolis Armory we would stop at Legends afterwards and get 50% off our food. Chicken wings and chicken quesadilla were both great. Traditional American food which is always a great pick up after a long day at work! Last time we were served by a BEAUTIFUL girl with amazing eyes! Always a plus! It can be busy so the only thing I would add is a bigger parking lot! The lot and street around fills up fast.

I enjoy coming here and getting a buzz tied on if ya know what I mean… They have awesome drink specials and a cool staff as others have stated already. I like that there are 2 different atmospheres here too; down stairs is like a dance club college environment and up stairs is more of your local bar scene. I’ve eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed, good dependable bar food. The menu is large though and might take some time to read through every option, try to pick a type of food then search that part of the menu, it will make life easier.

Legend’s Bloody Mary’s are basically a Saturday morning tradition for my friends and I. Nothing gets rid of the hangover better than one of their«big bloodys,» which are a meal in itself for $ 6. They’re the best bloody mary’s I’ve had in Northeast or Dinkytown for sure, maybe Minneapolis(Joe’s Garage and Ike’s are up there, though). Only wish they had cheese cubes on them, but the shrimp and beef stick is delicious. Service is always adequate – there are good servers and bad servers for sure(try to stay away from the tall, scary one!), but they all get the job done, despite always seeming hungover. As for food, it’s pretty good for such a divey place. The Racheuben sandwich is a great take on the classic Reuben/Rachel deli sandwiches with jalapeño coleslaw. Their waffle fries are good, too. I’ve had a bad experience with the spinach dip(it was soupy), but I don’t really like spinach dip anyways, so… take that with a grain of salt. Went there on a party bus at night, and it gets pretty hopping on the weekend. With a group of 50 rolling through the door, everything was taken care of and the bartenders were kind and not annoyed. There’s a DJ in the basement. Go for the bloodies if you’re a fan– worth it!

Among all the claims with which they promote their business, they’re only good at two things: 1– drink specials and 2– appetizers. 1– When it comes to drink specials, they compare favorably with Lyle’s: Great drink specials 7 days a week(6, 7 or 9 pm depending on the day of the week till close) along with a good happy hour, Monday through Friday(3 – 7). Tuesday’s $ 1 domestic pints and $ 7-$ 8 pitchers on Saturday nights are awesome. Sunday is the«week in review» night, meaning you could choose from«almost» all of the specials of all the week nights. BUT: there are many exceptions you should bear in mind when ordering special drinks. For example, beers are priced based on a 4 tier system during the special drink hours. However, on the menu you don’t see which price level each beer belongs to. Also, their interpretation of «rail drink» specials is a bit arbitrary. So, always ask before you order. 2– Appetizers are delicious! Buffalo chicken quesadilla is nice. It’s nothing special: just buffalo sauce, chicken and cheese. But it’s simply delicious. Fiesta nachos is yummy too. Also, great fries loaded with cheese! It’s 4 star only for the two things they know how to do. Legends is a good venue for a late night drink and appetizer as you catch up with friends! If it’s not a Saturday or a game night, it’s also not too noisy, which is another +.

The last time I was at Legends was to watch game an NBA playoff game. I figured it would be a great place to watch the game since its so close to my house and they market themselves as a sports bar. There were about 10 people there on this weeknight, and all seemed to be watching the game. There was top 40 music playing in the bar. I asked the server if she could put the TV volume on in the bar so we could hear the game(i was surprised they didnt have this going already… sports bar, NBA playoffs). She reluctantly asked the bartender to do so, I could hear him say«is he for real?» and then server came back and said they couldn’t figure out how to get the TV volume on. As you can tell from my prior review, I use to love Legends but have been staying away due to crappy food and cleanliness reasons, this is strike 3. Good thing great competition seems to be popping up all over NE.
