Favorite side walk café in Minneapolis. Delicious crepes and wonderful mocha. Will always go back for more

Very down to earth, with good, fresh food. Portions are satisfying, staff friendly, and they’re into both fusion and non-fusion food and serving people nicely. Comfortable sidewalk seating. Excellent value, great unpretentious lunch stop. If this place was on wheels and had no seating, it’d be on everyone’s list as one of their favorite downtown food trucks.

This was a random, enjoyable, little stop after a Dr. appointment. Staff was very welcoming and clearly took care in their food prep and service. Attentive in all respects. I have also been to France and would NEVER expect an authentic French crêpe from a small shop in DT Mpls – come on people get over yourselves! I was, however, tickled with the cheese, sausage and egg wrapped in crêpe. Had a little chopped, cooked cabbage mixed in for texture. Something fun, unique(i.e. «fusion»), reasonably priced, and TASTY! I work in DT Mpls and wish my building had a place that innovates a unique product in a friendly way within such a small space. The ladies next to me report enjoying their sweet crepes. Bravo!

I came during a weekday for a late lunch. It was not busy at all. Ordered a savory crêpe. It had ham, cheese, and tomato. I am a little judgemental because I’ve been to France and had crepes from there before, so when I has this one I was a bit disappointed but also expected it wouldn’t be the best. The crêpe was somewhat thick, almost felt like I was eating a tortilla. The filling ingredients were pretty good, had flavor. I didn’t like the sauce they put on top, maybe it was some kind of mustard. As for location, the place is hidden in the RMS plaza. The shop is tiny. One long counter and stools to sit, but it’s very tight. I thought I was walking into the kitchen, but that’s just how small the shop is. They do have an area with tables and chairs for more comfortable eating. I may come back for a sweet crêpe or maybe try their phở or bahn mi sandwich, but I wouldn’t come out of my way to go here, only when I’m in the area.

I rarely write reviews but I will for them. Try the spicy chicken crêpe and the mango almond cream. Best crêpe I’ve had outside of France.

Man this place is really good. Yesterday I had the lamb Bahn and it was amazing. This morning I tried the Italian sausage crêpe and I was amazed yet again. Wonderful service and I would recommend. Probably going back later on in the week.

Co-worker recommended this wonderful place. I ordered the meat lovers phở and found it delicious. Very intimate spot in a timeless bldg with beautiful architecture. I can’t wait to return to try their sandwiches!

What a little hidden gem on Nicollet Mall. This place is tiny, with maybe 5 – 6 stools for seating at a counter. The menu is eclectic with crepes and phở being their main showdowns. I didn’t get to try the phở this time around but the crepes were amazing. I had the chicken, brie and apple crêpe that had a hint of cinnamon mixed in. It was recommended by one of the workers so I had to try it. I can imagine this place gets packed during the weekday lunch rush so be prepared to take yours to go if there isn’t any seating. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their selections!

My girlfriend and I stopped in at this little Crêpe place on Nicollet Mall on our way back from the grocery store — a banana nutella crêpe sounded really good. We ordered from a distracted guy who took forever to make our crêpe while he talked on the phone. We got the goods and sat down outside to eat, but to my disappointment there was no nutella in the crêpe. I kept thinking/hoping I hadn’t gotten to it yet, but we eventually opened it and there was nothing inside but a little chocolate syrup. Chocolate syrup is great, but nutella it is not. I asked the guy inside about the nutella, and he just said there was nutella inside and turned away. Overall it was a decent crêpe(despite the lack of nutella and costing $ 7), but abysmal service and some false advertising to boot. Won’t be going back.

I normally bring breakfast and lunch, but since I am traveling, I must seek out food to stay alive. Well, this little café was at the first floor of the office I am working at. So I decided to check it out. For breakfast the«Dill and Lox» sound good, but I went with the«Gyro Breakfast» crêpe. the Gyro Breakfast includes lamb, egg, tomato, onion, and bell peppers. This carefully wrapped in a crêpe, and it’s pretty packed. Then topped with the Tzatziki sauce(my first reaction was Whipped Cream???) I would recommend you even distribute the Tzatziki sauce in the beginning. Well this crêpe is packed and keep you going all day with the lamb and egg to fill you up. These seems a large number of options for coffee, but I don’t drink coffee, so I opted for bottled orange juice(apple, mango and others are available in the fridge). === Now that will be leaving the area in a few days, I returned in the afternoon for lunch to try the Bahn Mi. I asked about the Jerk Chicken Bahn Mi, he said there were already jalapenos in the mixture, although it’s considered mild. So instead I opted for the Hoisin Pulled Pork Bahn Mi without jalapenos. This one was stacked with heaps of cilantro, carrots and pork. With a strip of hoisin sauce, this sauce to sandwich ratio was balanced for me. Pork was tender, good amount of flavor, this was a great sandwich. Each sandwich order comes with a bag of chips, and I added my drink. The cashier remembered me from this morning and gave me a punch card with two stamps on it. There was a good number of people grabbing take out for the lunch hour. The actual location is near Nicollet Mall and South 9th, across from Target.

Closer to 2.5 stars for sorta cold phở but upped it to 3 cuz it was the least offensive Asian food I’ve had in a while. Came specifically for the phở(which is funny considering this is a crêpe place) & it was $ 8 for a medium size bowl that came with up to 2 topping options. I went with steak & oyster mushrooms but wish I had gone with steak + onions. It comes with a container of the traditional vegetables(bean sprouts, onions, cilantro & lime) but I hated that the cilantro couldn’t be separated. The worst part was that the soup was cold so my meat didn’t even cook! I could’ve stuck my hand in the bowl cuz it was bordering on cold. The meat was also thick & not appetizing so maybe not eating it worked out for the best. Working in the area I might return to try the banh mi or crêpe but I heard there are better phở options down the street(TBD). Solidly mediocre.

5 for fast, friendly, and attentive service. Mgr was very nice. However… 2 for price. I got a bowl of phở with beef meatballs, shitake mushrooms, and hard-boiled egg. Paid over $ 9 for a kiddie bowl of phở. Though the broth was good and they provided a good amount of greens and sprouts to garnish, the phở lacked complementing proteins and authenticity. Beef meatballs were Italian, not Oriental, which tasted very funky with the phở broth; chose shitake mushrooms by default because I like something chewy in my soup and tripe is not on the menu; boiled egg cost me $ 1 extra because they only allow two options. For the price I paid, I would’ve expected higher quantity and more complementary options. At any authentic phở joint, $ 9 would be an XL bowl, but I get it — downtown mpls equals diverse target market, and more health-conscious customers. I probably won’t do the phở again, but I’d give other things on the menu a try. Wouldn’t hurt to go back.

Wish we gotten a meal, the phở smelled and looked so tasty. Stopped in for some gelato and the very french-man so kindly showed us outside. Almond gelato is the way to go, came in a cute little cup too. Wish they have a bigger selection — lots of fruity gelatos, meh. Would stop by again to try their good goods.

What a fun discovery! Set right on Nicollet Mall, this little hole in the wall won’t disappoint. I met a business contact for breakfast and a cup of coffee, choosing the mango & berries and crème. Why two? Because Crêpe’s aren’t filling. Right? Wrong! These crepes are quite large and I couldn’t finish the two. They are what you would expect, light, subtle flavors and simple. The coffee was quite delicious and the basic tin furniture placed out front of their tiny shop is their way of telling you«we are all about the food here, nothing else matters» Oh… and they get a bonus for the man who helped me having a French accent. Let’s be honest, that goes a long way here in the midwest. ;-)

We ate here for the first time today and I was very excited for a delicious breakfast. The reviews written were very promising– however we had the opposite experience. We walked in a little after opening and it was very busy. The lady at the counter greeted us, we waited for a few minutes and our order was taken. We ordered the berries crêpe, a bowl of phở, and two sodas. One soda had a film on surface and we asked for a new soda. It was immediately replaced. The waiter who served us the food seemed to be very stressed and overwhelmed. The crêpe was very under cooked, also the berries had a very odd flavor to them. The only way I can describe the taste is that they were not fresh and sat in the fridge too long. Lastly, the phở was very average. The meatballs and beef appeared to be from the local grocery store and possibly frozen.

A literal hole in the wall – great crepes in a variety of savory and sweet options. The outside seating was a nice touch and a great place to people-watch. Prices were reasonable and the service was quite fast.

Love the crepes here! My go to creperie when I am in the cities. This is a very small establishment but I feel this adds to the experience. There is seating outside and a few tables in the back ‘main lobby of the building’ to eat at.

Woah, no reviews yet? This place is absolutely amazing, and as far as hole-in-the-wall eateries go, it doesn’t get much tinier. Most of the staff are actually French, and the menu serves a rotating assortment of Crepes and Banh Mi sandwiches. I haven’t tried a crêpe yet, because every last Banh Mi is so absurdly delicious that I keep going back to try a new kind! The Ham & Mortadella definitely sticks out, as does the Hoisin Pork. A bit of Jarritos on the side is just bribery, I was already sold! I’m happy to make a beeline past the dozens of mediocre happy-hour-havens dotting Nicollet to squeeze my way into this tiny pocket-universe of pure deliciousness.

Hidden Gem(shhhh.). Love the Phở soup(meatballs, spinich, shitake mushrooms), and the Bahn Mi sandwiches. Surprisingly, i haven’t even tried a crêpe here yet since I love their phở and bahn mi so much! Shop reminds me of small shops in Europe. Quality of food is great! Looking forward to trying the Gelato sometime, however i always cringe at paying that much for a scoop when you can get so much more at home at a better price. Only negative is that you should plan to get it for carry out. Seating is extremely limited. Kids may like the crêpe’s and gelato, but i haven’t tried it yet.

After getting a tux fitted across the street, I decided to check out La Belle Crêpe to satisfy my cravings for phở and banh mi.(I mean, it had been a week. And that’s a week too long.) Unfortunately, after eating there, I absolutely cannot recommend their food. *Banh Mi Xiu Mai: Even though I liked the airy baked bread and savory meat balls, the horseradish overpowered the entire sandwich.(That’s why we, Vietnamese people, don’t use horseradish.) I think a light mayo would’ve been fine. *Nutella and Coconut Crêpe: Surprisingly chewy! Toppings were as advertised. Aside from these two, I considered diving into their phở. However, after looking at La Belle Crêpe’s menu online, I almost considered walking out because of how insulted I was at their description of it. The website states, «it is believed that „Phở“ was derived from „pot au feu,“ a popular French soup.» Excuse me? Said who? Um, not any Vietnamese person I know that actually makes phở. I’m pretty sure French cooks didn’t make rice noodles or know how to use cilantro until they met us.(And vice-versa, Viets didn’t know how to use butter or pâté.) Also, we sure as hell don’t use vegetables to make phở broth, like how it’s used in pot au feau. And if you’re wondering, we got the phở spices from the Indians. Not to mention, one would never find tofu, lamb, bell pepper, hard-boiled egg, pulled pork, and all this other nonsense in an authentic bowl of phở. Just stop. And shoot, the French already colonized Vietnam, sucked the country’s resources, and enslaved the people to plant and harvest coffee and rubber. Is it really necessary to take it a step further and claim that phở is yours? That’s. So. Whack. Regarding the service, my food came out eight to ten minutes after ordering.(Lunch time.) Prices were affordable, considering the expensive location. I think if they can revise some things, I would consider returning. And if the chefs want to eat some real phở, they are more than welcome to contact me. My Vietnamese family and friends will show ya’ll the real deal. Holla.

This place is amazing. I think I go here for lunch 2 – 3 times a week and I’m worried that the word is getting out as the lines keep getting longer. I would recommend in order: Phở, Bahn Mi, Crepes(even though the name would suggest otherwise). As others have noted, it is a little tight inside and somewhat confusing on where to order and who has ordered and who is waiting — but Viva La France! The food is delicious — and they have gelato during the summer. I started going for lunch by myself, and others are joining me in increasing numbers because they look at my lunch with lunch envy. But — my advice is get there by 11:45 or expect to wait The staff speak French fluently — so please say Merci and you will hear Mon Plasir!

I happened to be downtown when I found this tiny little gem. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a man with a French accent, it’s refreshing to see a crêpe place that’s ran by actual French people. After spending about 4 minutes browsing their fantastic menu I decided on the veggie crêpe with a cup of tea, it was so good! Next time I’m trying their nutella hot chocolate and crepes with berries.

The crêpes are delicious, as is the coffee. If I could get the Nutella mocha very day, I would. It tastes like the good, strong coffee I have when in Europe. I will never visit Minneapolis without coming here(usually more than once!)

You might feel like you are really in France. It is a lovely yet tight– not too much wiggle room inside. I loved my Italian soda and Crêpe and chilled outside and people watched for a while and hope to return sometime.

Whoops forgot to add this review. Had a meatball/beef Bahn Mi. Meat was excellent but the bread wasn’t toasty enough and there weren’t enough pickled veggies. Nice woman and a good coffee. It wasn’t that pricy also 3.2 star food but I’ll bump it up to 4 due to how nice the people are/the service. It wasn’t an amazing bahn mi but it was solid.

What the phở??? That pretty much sums up my expression when I spotted this neat little spot today. I may have been to Vietnamese food places where french baguettes and other French-Vietnamese fusions were served, but I have yet to see an equivalent of the spin. At least until now. La Belle definitely took me by a surprise. At first sight, it had me at «crêpe.» But when I went in, I was blown away by something else that’s on the menu: phở. I totally thought it was a joke until the server told me the owner was the one who cooks it, and another customer gave me a reassuring nod that it was good. Since I had a reservation at Hell’s Kitchen for brunch, I decided to skip out on phở and ordered a crêpe instead. Being a crêpe addict that I am, I wasn’t too impressed with either the portion size or the taste of what I got. I’ve definitely had better crepes elsewhere, but it was ok when one considers the price range and location of the place. I’ll definitely try to return here for their phở next time. As for their crepes, maybe I’ll keep them in mind when I’m dying of a crêpe starvation.
