I was closing on my house, and in order to make it by the scheduled date my bank required some last-​minute repairs on some small areas of siding on the front of my house. I called Handypro, and they were able to come out and give me an estimate. Collin (the owner) gave me a quote of $ 900. I thought that was outrageous considering they were only fixing about 25 sqft of siding, but I just wanted it done and paid it.
They finished on time, and I was able to close on my house. A week later, I got an e-​mail from Collin saying I owed another $ 1,550! I asked for an itemized list of the costs. He claimed 28 man hours for the little spots he fixed. That is absolutely ridiculous. He didn’t come prepared for the work, so they had to run to the store multiple times.

I had a long list of varied projects, but Jim tackled these with confidence and competence. He helped me prioritize and was extraordinarily efficient. He cleaned up after himself, too.
I was interested in what Jim was doing, and rather than scowl and ignore me, he invited me to help and we had some good conversations. It was nice to learn from and observe a skilled person at work.
The only reasons I’m not offering five stars are 1) I think the hourly rate is a little high (at least according to the average posted on the Angie’s List website), and 2) the dispatcher or coordinator at the office (not Jim) was not good at returning phone calls.
