This review is for Colleen, who performs acupuncture here, but her husband Christian also teaches kettleball classes in the space! I first went to see Colleen at the recommendation of Josh(of Sabai Body Temple), who thought that acupuncture would complement the massage therapy I was getting there. Colleen has been great! I’ve seen her three times so far — we’ve been working on tension in my upper back, neck and jaw. The first time I went I couldn’t believe how great I felt the next day. Sessions take about 30 — 45 minutes. She sits down to discuss the areas of pain or tension at the beginning of each session, and you’ll spend 10 — 15 minutes with needles in on each side(face up, face down). I’ve fallen asleep a couple of times with the needles in. As she’s taking them out she also may do some muscle releases where she stimulates isolated muscles, they clench, and then the lactic acid is released. As a result, I’m typically quite sore the next day(it feels like I’ve gotten a crazy workout with all the lactic acid) but after a session of hot yoga I sweat it out and feel loose — and relaxed! Things you should know — her treatment room is in a space she shares with her husband, who teaches kettle ball classes. As a result, sometimes you can hear the activity in the adjacent room. BUT as a bonus, she has also asked him to show me exercises to help me balance out my body to avoid pain in the future. Also, you can book online, but she only has a limited selection of appointments online — so call or e-mail if you need more options. After each session, I can notice the specific improvements in my tension levels and I’m looking forward to seeing how extended regular treatments work for me.

I’ve been the type of person to struggle with consistent exercise. After 2 weeks of kettle bell training at Four Gates, I was hooked. I noticed results in only a week improving my endurance and agility. Its now been several months of training and I feel very comfortable with my fellow students and enjoy the consistent training by Christian the instructor. I’ve done weight training and bored myself with mundane jogging/cardio routines, but nothing has even come close to the results I’ve gained with Kettle bell workouts. Thanks Four Gates. –S
