1st time dining here with family and it was quite a pleasant surprise. good american portion size meal, fair pricing, and delicious food. We ordered«feast for 1 person» and salmon. what’s worth mentioning is that they have a really good selection of sauces, and man i wish i had ordered something that’d require me to use all of them. would definitely come back in the future.

The best meal we had this week!!! Ribs were great, cornbread muffin fantastic! The only place we found sweet tea– a must for this southern girl. Waiter was friendly and attentive. A little strange that the restrooms were in the mall, but didn’t bother us.

I have yet to eat at a Famous Daves and have only partaken in the liquids during happy hour. This time around I tried the pineapple habanero boneless wings that were on happy hour. $ 4 for a dozen boneless or traditional wings is a great deal so I just couldn’t resist. Wings weren’t as spicy as I hoped but chicken was of good quality and the breading was very light which i like. Couldve been spicier but that’s alright it still had a good sweet/hot flavor. Bartender provides great service and hes a funny guy. Keeps you entertained while watching ESPN on the LCD with no sound or subtitles. Wide array of beers on tap keeps my beer taste buds guessing. Will come back again and try a pulled pork sandwich as that is my favorite in the land of BBQ. Parents are from Memphis so I’m used to Corky’s and The Rendezvous. Wont give this place a 4th star until I sit down and have a real meal!

This Dave’s is located in the Mall of America. Really, who needs a mall this big? I’m the person who traditionally makes one trip a year to a mall(at Christmas — to buy a Dilbert calendar for my brother-in-law). So I was way out of my element. But on this night my hotel was at the MOA and I was hungry. And I like ribs. No, actually I LOVE ribs. Searching for the perfect rib has been my life’s passion. And my search will continue. So I ordered the half-rack rib platter. The ribs weren’t bad, but nowhere near the best I’ve had. The meat on the short end of the slab was nearly tough and dry as jerky. Now I’m not one of those people who think ribs should be cooked into a tenderized mush that falls off the bone by itself, but this was a bit too gnarly, even for me. The wide selection of sauces is fun. I’m partial to the Georgia Mustard sauce. This style is hard to find outside of Georgia and Florida. The sides were decent, but unremarkable. The service was not bad at all. Bottom line: if you’re in the Mall of America and you’re jonesing for some BBQ, here’s a place you can go.

Really solid BBQ, very good service, fun ambiance. I had the brisket plate while my colleague had the brisket/pork combo. Thumbs up on both! Sides were inventive and fresh. Though it’s a(local MN) chain, this restaurant has a great vibe and unexpectedly good BBQ.

Don’t expect it to be great because it’s famous. It’s a chain and that’s what makes it famous. I’ve never been to one that was actually playing music but I hear that they can have some cool blues once in awhile. The ribs are not bad but basically you create your own sauce by creating your own concoction with the 6 different levels of heat assisted by a large roll of paper towels. It’s good for a family dinner so the kids can be entertained as well as the parents can enjoy some BBQ without having to cook and clean-up. You might want to jump on the treadmill after a meal from here too.

There were six kinds of barbeque sauce on the table, right next to a huge roll of paper towels. This is how you know you’re getting some serious barbeque. We ordered a rack of ribs, a bbq chicken salad, and the brisket plate. I don’t know why we wasted stomach space on the salad, but it seemed like a good idea it the time… Something«healthy» for the evening, I suppose. The ribs and the brisket were AWESOME — smoked and succulent, and I loved dunking them in the Sweet & Zesty sauce. The salad was pretty good for a salad, only after a generous squirt of Sweet & Zesty, of course. The strange thing though? We ordered beers, and the waitress brought us out the bottle that come in PLASTIC. But the stranger thing was how she explained it: «We ran out of the glass bottles, but you do get an additional 4 ounces.» Oh, okay, four free ounces of beer. Got it.
