Dunn Bros Coffee

I LOVE THE COFFEE HERE! It’s so good. The tuscan turkey sandwich is also definitely one of my favorites! Also, Gwen the barista is AMAZING! So hospitable and professional! She also brews the best coffee.

I thought that the barista was really nice, but the coffee is average and the place wasn’t very clean. Just OK in my book.

Last year, I’d go to this location anywhere from 2−4x a week at the crack of dawn for a mocha.
It was always the same barrista, which was a mixed blessing.
On one hand, I wouldn’t describe him as friendly… at all. Didn’t matter if I tipped or tried to make conversation or asked a specific question about the new coffee on display. He just seemed like he didn’t want to be there.
On the other hand, the mocha he made was rich, dark, and consistent. Even the whipped topping had more volume than 90s hair. Every single time.
When I came in during late mornings on the weekends and he wasn’t there, the barristas were more friendly, but the different coffee orders I’ve made were mediocre.
The pastries here taste like cardboard or warm flour and water. The only exception is the cinnamon twist, which is only tasty if it’s toasted and you plan to eat it in the store. Usually, I’d take one bite of a new pastry I haven’t tried and wish I could hand it right back. :(
Despite the pastries, inconsistent quality of coffee on the weekends, and non-​emphasis on friendliness on early weekday mornings… when the coffee is good, it is GOOD.

The coffee & baristas are awesome! I love everything about this place!

typical dunn brothers; lots of seating, outlets, good coffee, sweets, and meal-​size food. I usually make a stop here every day for an iced tea, and the people at this location are always very pleasant.

I like to work from this Dunn Bros so my review is based purely for those laptop warriors that are looking for a good coffee shop to work at. Not a coffee connoisseur and haven’t tried the baked goods.
I always get the tea — hard to screw that up — so thumbs up we’re okay on that.
Why I love it. The FAST internet!!! An anomaly in the coffee shop world. I know it’s free so I don’t complain about it in other places but this is what makes this Dunn Bros different than other shops! Right now, about 6 of us on it and I don’t have to wait for pages to load (what!!!). The other day the shop was full of internet surfers and it was still speedy.
Lastly, the ambiance is nice, great location (right new Vertical Endeavors), nice mix of clientele, off-​street parking, and the staff has always been super friendly.
PS I selfishly wasn’t going to post how quick the internet was until I tried it with a full house. Now that I know it’s still fast, I’ll share the secret.

I work nearby so it didn’t take long before i notice a new Dunnbros in the area. I made it my regular coffee shop. It was more than the convenient location, the staff is very welcoming and remembers my regular drink after my first visit. Not to mention the coffee is thick and addicting. Much better than my usual caribou coffee that’s sweet and watery.

It didn’t take long for me to notice that Dunn Bros is the local coffee chain that is everywhere in this city and is even found outside of the state, so I’m kind of surprised this is my first Mpls first review. While there is some of that chain feel, it’s by no means a Starbucks and the coffee I got had a nice mellow and slightly sweet flavor without any sugar added. The espresso I found not as up to par, but still alright. It’s a welcome addition to Nicollet in Whittier for a place to get some caffeine and the outlet situation is very much in your favor if you want to break out the laptop. Now if only a good bar were to open up down around here, it would be an even better street.
