Hard as I may try to maintain my yuppie veneer, I do not deny my love for DQ Blizzards. This is one of those DQs only open for part of the year because there’s no indoor area. It’s also one of the dumpier DQs I’ve ever been to. I like to call that charm, baby. I live smack dab in between here and the Stadium Village location. This one truly is incredibly slow, but Stadium Village will seriously short you on mix-ins so I have to favor this location. Plus, my heart bursts when I see a bunch of neighbors lined up here to get ice cream. It’s just so beautiful.

Kinda sad DQ… staff is friendly enough, but cheap with the toppings and maybe not super clean/sorta rundown. Does the job but needs some lovin’

What kind of Dairy Queen doesn’t have chocolate ice cream? This one.

It’s a Dairy Queen, so nothing wrong with the food. The service is slooowwwww. Slow. Very slow. Even though I live close to this, I drive to the one in St. Anthony to save time. Slow.

What can you say about your neighborhood Dairy Queen? Well, this one offers the same treats you drooled over as a kid, and more! My favorite is the banana split. Mmmm. Makes me wanna sing«B-a-n-a-n-a-s!» Which happens to be the only way I learned how to spell the word. It won’t disappoint. Also a fave, cookie dough blizzard w/chocolate syrup. The ice cream treats are always consistent. They never get it wrong! The service is a-ok. Not too stupendous, but never horrible. If there isn’t a line and you walk right up and order, they’ll have your ice cream to you before you even get your receipt. You can tell there’s some real team work going on back there. A couple of notes for going to this particular DQ: — Parking is in the back. — There’s a patio in the back corner called«Dave’s Patio» it’s nice and a lot quieter. — When I went a couple of weeks ago I witnessed an attempted theft. A lady was walking around waving her smartphone to and fro. Be smart, leave the expensive electronics and huge wads of cash at home or in the car. The crime rate in NE has gone up.
