Caribou Coffee

Dear God, I never realized how much I missed Caribou in Chicago until we stopped here on the way back from walking to Angel Food. I picked us up a Mint Condition and a Pumpkin White Chocolate Mocha. Both were excellent and far above what I’ve had at Starbucks in a number of years. The best part is that the Pumpkin drink I had contained REAL pumpkin. And as such, I was experiencing some intestinal distress following drinking it (I often give canned pumpkin to my dog when he’s backed up… so you know, watch out if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing).
I keep hoping for a Caribou comeback not unlike what they’ve been doing with TV shows lately. But I might be waiting a long time :(

How does a Caribou get 5 stars? Service, location and convenience.
I’m typically a Starbucks girl but this coffee shop is too conveniently located in my elevator lobby for me to pass it up. There’s typically a line during prime time (7:45−8:00am) as everyone needs to caffeine up one more time before jumping into their workday. I personally like to come here when that 2:30pm slump hits.
The coffee baristas are always very friendly and genuine when they ask you how your day is going. Plus they work very efficiently and get those lattes and frozen coffee drinks to customers quickly.
There’s a large selection of baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and wraps, and yogurt parfaits to compliment any beverage.
The hot coffee and lattes are served at the perfectly hot but drinkable temperature. I personally like their house blend of hot coffee but will splurge for a northern lite latte every now and then.
This venue makes for a great meeting spot. My company meets with clients here all the time and it’s always easy to find a table. There are also plenty of intimate couches, chairs and more private tables.
This Caribou is welcoming, and in a great location!
