Not even sure where to start. Event menu to insure fast service 40 minutes for our bar burgers to arrive. The restaurant was at 20% capacity. Really slow bad service. Burgers were alright, fries were good. Won’t be back.

I visited this place on a mid-afternoon on a Saturday. This place was empty but I, a 65 year old male, was still carded at the door. I don’t mind being carded but it was not just a once over but a continued look at front and back of card several times to see if The card matched me. The food was mediocre as well as the service. I found it strange that the bartender had to go downstairs to get me a glass of beer while I was sitting at the bar upstairs. While sitting at the bar, I could see the restaurant across the street was packed. That was probably a good indication of why the Brothers Deli was empty. I contacted the website to relate my experience and was followed up with a contact from the manager. He could not give me a good reason for the carding. He also said that it would be nice if I came back but I saw no good reason to return. I ended up spending $ 40.00 for a burger and 2 beers. Overall the experience was very strange and I came away with a feeling that I was not very welcome.

Had a ridiculous experience with the guys at the front door on Halloween weekend. After purchasing some Beer Crawl tickets for the night(which included a free drink from each bar) my group and I headed over to Brothers after getting our first drink at the PourHouse(which we thoroughly enjoyed). While we all stood shivering in line(it was about 40 something degrees out and raining) a homeless man chatted us up for money. After talking with him and politely refusing, I turned to the guy at the front door and handed him my I.D. He looked at me and said he was denying me entry(after all my friends had walked in) and said it was because I was«wobbling». Me: What? Guy: You can’t come in. I just saw you wobbling. Step aside. Me: You’re kidding me. I’m shivering in the freaking cold and I’ve had one drink and your excuse is that I’m «wobbling»? Guy: Yes, you cannot come in. Me: Okay, that’s fine. I’d like to talk to your manager please. The Manger comes out and identifies himself as Rob, the General Manger. He explains that he is standing beside the employees decision(who identified himself as «Tony») because he «was not there when it happened». Me: «Okay, so your excuse for still not allowing me into the bar was because you weren’t standing there when the decision was made 3 minutes ago?» Rob: «Yes.» Me: «Well, could you please use your own judgement and make a decision based on that?» Rob: «No, I’m going to have to stand behind the decision of my employee.» Me: «So you’re agreeing with your employee that I am ‘too drunk’ to enter and you are refusing to reevaluate that decision based upon the person standing in front of you?» Rob: «Yes.» WOW. I was pretty shocked at this point. Rob went on to say that the reason that I wasn’t «wobbling» anymore was because I was«focusing» on not wobbling. Now I’m no expert in that area, but it sounds like a copout excuse for not providing service. In the end, we left the bar and never went back. I will never again return to any of the Brothers bar locations after my experience. I completely understand the need for a bouncer to keep out drunk individuals from a bar for liability reasons and I further understand that people make mistakes in their judgement sometimes(especially when its cold and rainy and miserable out). HOWEVER, when I talk to you like an adult and explain WHY you’ve come to an inaccurate conclusion and that I understand its initial conclusion but you decide to not use your own judgement and make a good decision, then I’m going to make sure the world knows about your business practices. Thats what this is in the end. Business. And for everyone reading this, I think you should take yours elsewhere.

I’ve only been here a few times but every time that I was here, the service was horrible. It takes me 15 mins to get a drink and the bartenders there are rude. The music also sucks. I would not recommend this place.

Good drinks, friendly service but avoid the food. Had the chicken wings as a starter(which were small with very little meat) and the French Dip sandwich, which tasted like cardboard. The dipping Au Jus didn’t help and probably made it worse. Come here for drinks but don’t bother eating here.

Awful service. Not the waitresses fault. Ordered food only to find out(30 minutes later) that the menus in the tables«don’t count» at a Twins game. You had to order from a tiny«event» menu. Last time here for sure.

I came here from out of state, pre gaming a Twins game. The bar is nice. Can definitely feel at home here. Drink specials everywhere! Crowd was small compared to other bars in the area. Prices were great for downtown(again, specials) they had pool tables downstairs. A few regular arcade games up(Big Buck, Golden Tee). Staff was friendly and accommodating. It’s an easy stop off the blue light rail if you’re traveling from the south on metro.

I stopped in for lunch with my laptop to get some work done. Little did I know the WiFi is flakier than the cereal isle at Cub. That and the lack of places to sit near a plug in soured it for me. The food and service was ok, and many places around here inexplicably have a lack of outlets. But they do all have a solid WiFi signal. Why can’t Brothers get that right?

Brothers bar is the bar to go to when you’re in town! It’s great! When I first went there I thought it was very small and crowded. But I then figured out they had another bar, pool tables, and a dance floor at the basement! It was a great atmosphere down there! I really had no problem over there. One time I ordered an alcoholic beverage and the bartender gave other people their drinks before me when I ordered first, then he remembered about my order and gave me my beverage free of charge and sincerely apologized. He was very respectful, and for that I recommend this to anyone looking for a night out at downtown Minneapolis!

This bar is a bar you go to if you have no other options. You must right across the street and it freezing cold outside and don’t want to walk any further. It really a great space but the owners need to revamp the interior if they want to compete with the numerous other bars and restaurants in the area. It seems like a towny bar in the middle of the city. I only stayed for 1 drink on a Thursday night. I understand Thursday is NOT a Friday night and maybe because this is Minnesota, but a bar that much square footage needs more than just 1 waitress working the whole floor. I understand, she can make more money tips-wise if it is just her and 2 bartenders. But it’s just poor business strategy.(Our waitress was great btw) It was just too slow. The drinks were slow to come out. So slow we decided not to get a second round because we didn’t want to wait another 15min. And that my friend is how you lose money… lose repeat customers, and ultimately have your business close down in a year or 2. I don’t think I’ll be coming back again… unless as I said earlier… if there is no other choice.

Some friends and I decided to watch the USA in the World Cup game vs. Germany over lunch. We tried 4 different restaurants before ending up at Brother’s in the Warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis. Lots of TVs lined the walls and they had plenty of beers on tap, but alas, we had to return to work. Two of our group were on a tight lunch hour time frame, so we quickly placed our order. They decided to split a chicken wrap, one got beer cheese soup and a wrap, and I ordered a veggie burger. I should have asked if it was a handmade veggie patty. Uggh! But the menu said, «Our veggie burger» which spoke to me that they made it fresh in house. Nope. I ordered a Diet Coke from our waitress and she refilled it about 3 times. Great service! She was super nice and as it turns out, apologetic about our food taking about 35 minutes to come out. The food took so long, that 2 of our friends had to have it boxed up and take it back to their office to eat. It looked real good though. My friend enjoyed his beer cheese soup and the wraps were so large, he took half home. They did look like some tasty wraps. My veggie burger was perfectly round and flat, so clearly a frozen Morning Star burger, or a similar frozen patty. Disappointing. Pretty bland as well, but I added some Caesar dressing from my side salad to give it some more flavor. I did like that you could substitute a side Caesar for kettle chips for a couple bucks more. I would probably give the place 2 ½ stars, but the loooooong time it took our food to come out, when it wasn’t even a quarter full, couldn’t push it to the 3 star level, which is what I use to at least try a place out. They do have great drink specials, but I couldn’t partake. Boo.

The main attraction: Fishbowls. The atmosphere of Brothers is okay. Music is decent. Offers a nice variety of pool, dance, and darts. But honestly, the fishbowls are the best way to get a small group toasted for a decent amount of money before barhopping. So fishbowls. I personally prefer the blue one.

One of my top places to hit up on a night out! I’m a fan of the food, I’m a fan of the atmosphere and I’m a fan of the drinks! This bar has two levels. The upstairs is always crowded so we usually make our way downstairs where there is A LOT more room. Downstairs has a nice dance floor and a big bar which helps you get drinks faster. The bar as a whole has a lot of seating so this is rarely an issue unless you make it there later in the night. One of the best things. Very handicap accessible. Our friend is in a wheelchair and they have a nice entrance, multiple elevators and staff to assist you right away. Could not be more pleased with this bar!

I guess I’m a little… order 6 meals and get 5.Comp. it all day it doesn’t remove the feeling. Too bad What does it take? They run out of French fries, huh? Free upgrade to onion rings, great, till they forget them. Service was good other than the above.

I haven’t been here since they moved from the basement location. I can’t remember the bar that was there back in my glory days, but I loved it. It seems they didn’t change a thing here. The tiny bathrooms were in the back behind the dance floor. I must be getting old because even though the environment was the same as my old fav joint, it felt different. The place was pretty slow, so we were able to get drinks very fast-bonus! We did have to sip the down quickly and head out because we felt like we were overdressed and 10 years older than the oldest person there!

No cover, so somehow a lot of my nights ended up here. Decent number of TVs, but I wouldn’t call this a sportsbar, at least not at night. Lots of Twins jerseys here nonetheless. So I think the major takeaways are the $ 6 bottomless beers on weekdays(Thursdays?). They’ve also got heavier bottomless drinks, $ 2 cherry bombs, and some other specials that I can’t recall. We come here a lot because my friend Sam is in love with the bartender named Cali. Also, I think the addition of the upstairs part is certainly cool.
