I LOVE shops like these. They rep state pride, endorse our awesome traits and remind people that Minnesotans are much more than lutefisk and wild rice. Their selection includes everything from ornaments and dish towels to candles and cookbooks. I scored a couple«Made in Minnesota» winners, and had to casually stroll by the candy section. The staff is kind and helpful, plus they box and bow everything if you ask them nicely. They recently added a back clothing section that features unique clothes and accessories, even if they are a little overpriced.

Love!!! For $ 150 I got nine kid gifts, 2 Mother’s Day gifts and a Father’s Day gift. What a steal!!! The best part is, everything is so unique! Everyone is going to love their gifts, can’t beat being the cool auntie!

Love this place! It’s not for everyone, and is a little cramped, but they have great gifts and little things for the home. They have a selection ranging from crafty, to silly, to romantic products, and pretty much everything in between. For people without an annual income, such as myself(hello student), it can be sort of pricey. But if you’re buying for someone you really really love, then the sacrifice will be worth it. The people working here are very nice. They’ll be glad to wrap up your purchase nicely if you are buying a gift. And they can get creative with it too. Definitely a Minneapolis gem. Not to mention, the fact that it’s in Linden Hills doesn’t hurt either. There are plenty of other places to visit afterward if you want to make a day of your shopping trip.

I adore this shop(& the others throughout MPLS, too). This is my go-to gift shop for all occasions, people, & things. And I’m not kidding. A sampling of their merchandise, includes: 1) Minneapolis(non-tacky) gifts galore. I snatched up an awesome local MN cookbook to bring to some friends in Norway. 2) Weird, yet delightful trinkets. They carry Swag Brewery soap which smells like your beer of choice(i.e. Surly Furious). 3) Cards of all sorts, and beautiful wrapping paper. They have a terrific local card selection, and supply my favorite cards made by Curly Girl. Come here to be inspired, to browse, and likely leave with something unexpected.

Any gift shop that also expands my vocabulary wins big points in my book. Bibelot(bee-bah-low) means an attractive or curious trinket, according to . The owner takes the name of her business very seriously and goes to great lengths to ensure that the selection of unique gifts found in the four stores across the twin cities fits that description unfailingly. The Linden Hills location is my go-to spot for gifts for all kinds of people, and I’ve rarely walked out the door without finding exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for.

There’s not much more fun than taking an invigorating stroll around the lake, stopping for a hot coffee and then rewarding oneself by an immersion into a sea of a million clever tchotchkes. Okay, so maybe I’ve disclosed too much about my Thursday afternoon activities. I’m not saying it’s for everyone(aka, my husband) but I love nothing more than transporting myself off into some whimsical part of my psyche and being surprised by a thoughtful/quirky/witty quote on a totally useless desk plaque or comparing four different types of labrynths/angels/wind-chimes. So fun! Sure maybe once you’ve gone a few times, some of the items do become — well, familiar but there’s really no place that can beat(well, except for maybe Patina) this shop’s sense of whimsical, charitable spirit. Even the most terrible gift givers will be redeemed with the perfect find for even for the most loathed frenemies!

This time of year gets stressful. Too many people on my list, and damn if that list doesn’t get longer each year — I just wish my pocketbook got a little bigger with it. And if there’s something I am thankful for it’s the predictability of some of those people I need to buy for… specifically my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and mom. The love Bibelot and all it’s little gadgets and gifts. From the random kitchy kitchen gifts to the«good for one hug» coins, whenever they open their presents from Bibelot, they are happy. I consider it a one-stop shop for the most part. Now, it’s certainly not for everyone… if a person on your list is crazy about local, go to I like you or Corazon… but if your person like the random trinkets, you’ll probably walk away with gift in hand… wrapped and ready to go under the tree.

This is one of the first places I would go after I won the lottery. Okay, well, the week of 2 hours massages everyday and mani pedi would probably be a little ahead of Bibelot, but I’d be right on over here quickly. To be clear even though this review is for the Uptown shop, I have been to them all and you can trust they will all be very different and yet very the same and very satisfying experience. Bibelot is the place to go when you need to buy a gift, but that is generally only an excuse for me to go and oogle the cool stuff and buy at least one thing I just cannot live without. Christmas time is a fabulous time to be shopping there because it’s so pretty and wonderful and you wish you had paid staff to make your house look like the store with all the decorations and lights. Definately another little hidden jewel of a trip whether you are shopping for real or are window shopping and buy one of those little trinkets on the counter for a dollar or two.

If you are ever complely blank about what to get for someone, go here. You WILL find something, and something satisfactory. Staff members are very helpful with ideas. I bought a metal paperweight with BECAUSE I SAIDSO inscribed on it for a friend recently and he was quite thrilled with it. They also did a great job packing it up for no extra charge.

My mother LOVES these shops, and I always enjoy visiting them with her, because they have such cute knick-knack you-won’t-find-anywhere-else stuff that’s great for gifts or for yourself. My most recent purchase was a gift for my mother, and they were post-it notes that read«Someone called about something» and«I love not camping». Both fit my mother perfectly, and that’s the beauty of the Bibelot Shops — I promise you’ll find something that’s perfect for just about everyone you know.

This store kind of reminds me of my ex-boyfriend’s mom whose ocean side condo smelled remotely of lavender and had random sea shells and rocks in bowls as decorations. I guess what I mean is, it’s definitely a great store to pick up stuff for the mother/older sister/favorite teacher figures in your life. Lots of cute knick knacks, books, kitchen stuff. Fun to look around.

A Twin Cities mainstay, Bibelot has a reputation for having some great stuff for gifts and home. I have heard that at trade shows, people follow the owner around to see what she likes. I believe it, their merchandise is always simply to die for. A bit pricey, but when you’re shopping for that special someone,(ie mom or grandma) who can put a price on that? Check it out but don’t wait until the Christmas rush, they get busy!
