I drank way too much last Friday night. When I woke up, I needed Band Box. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger at 10:00am. My guest ordered the Bro omelette. The food was like it was sent from heaven. It was perfect and it perfectly absorbed all of the alcohol in my system. And I jammed on my guest’s leftover omelette later. It was just as good as when it was served. BRO omelette.

As long as the joint is owned by the current owner, Brad, you will never see it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Brad, says,” Guy Fieri’s, orange complexion makes him look like an oompa-loompa.” I like that the burgers are fresh, never frozen. It makes a huge difference in preserving the natural juices of the beef. One of the last family-owned and operated diners left in America. Get it before its gone.

Delicious food in a relaxed Diner atmosphere. Ze Lil’ Buddy is highly recommended. Great service, too! Can’t wait to try a burger!

A diner’s diner. If you’re looking for a cozy(tiny) dive diner with INCREDIBLE food and service this is the place. Substitutions are happily accepted. A veggie patty can be substituted for any burger. Never had such a juicy tasty veggie burger. The tuna sandwich is made with a huge tuna steak. Not canned tuna. The tuna steak sandwich was incredibly tasty. Don’t pass the Band Box by because of its looks, go inside, be pampered and enjoy!

Hole-in-the-wall, off the beaten path, small and charming. Now this is my kind of diner! Have the«ze french lil buddy»(a french toast, egg, cheese and meat sandwich). You won’t regret it.

Like home cooking. Loved it! First time here. My hubby and I stopped by for breakfast. It was obviously freshly made and tasted like I cooked it at home. The pancake was very good and the breakfast potatoes were awesome. The sausage was a bit greasy, but they tasted good. Oh, and the orange juice was great too. My hubby had the everything omelet and he really enjoyed it. We’d go again for sure.

Went in by myself at 1pm on a Wednesday. Was just a few other tables seated. One order ahead of me. The ranch burger I ordered was amazing! The random fries were super tasty as well! The young girl that waited on me at the bar was really nice and engaged me in conversation. The guy cooking who I think is the owner stood 3 feet from me the whole time and was causally talking to another customer. He never acknowledged I was there which was a tad disappointing but when I just told him how great the food was he did thank me. I guess I like when staff/owners thank customers for their business. I’m a stickler for it. Prices are $$ out of $$$$. Over all yes yes yes. Go, you will love it.

Definitely the greasiest place I’ve eaten at. The fries are not good, but the breakfast and the burgers are tasty. Kind of a fun atmosphere, and they are close to downtown. I don’t go here often because it is so greasy and a little pricy. If you need a quick meal and a neat little corner burger joint with character, this is the place for you.

Probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Was visiting someone at the hospital and got hungry. Heard about this place from Unilocal and decided to check it out. Glad I did! My burger was juicy and the slaw and shoestring fries went so well with everything. I wish I got an order of fries also but I was pretty full already.

Ducks may fly together, but I had to eat alone at this Minneapolis treasure that’s a bit off the beaten path. I was recently in town for a conference of librarians staying at the Hilton, & fan of Disney’s Mighty Ducks film, which shot a scene at this diner, I had to pay it a visit, so I walked over after the Twins’ home opener. With only two other customers in the diner at the time, the wait might have been a bit longer than I expected, but it was worth it. It’s diner food, but it was a terrific burger. I had a breakfast burger & shoestring fries & a chat with the charming waitress & cook on duty. I do wish they’d discover the marvel that is grilled chicken, though. It’d essentially double their menu options!

I don’t care about long wait times or surly service, I care about good food being put in front of me so I can turn the fuck up. Band Box is legit and it tastes just as good through Bite Squad as it does sitting in the postage stamp sized restaurant. I assume that has something to do with the artery clogging amounts of grease that lovingly goes into each dish. If you’re gluten free, a calorie counter, or you only eat organic, locally sourced food… this shit ain’t for you, man. But if you can get down with grease, junk food, and cheese on all the goddamn things — pull up a chair and get your Band Box on. Who needs ambiance when you’ve got bacon cheeseburger goodness oozing down your chin? No one, that’s who. The fries are on the better side of meh. Shoestring type bastards that have a habit of either getting too soggy or too over cooked — but that handful of fries that’s cooked just right? America… fuck yeah! The onion rings are alright. The burgers? On point. Breakfast is the best part of the menu… the bacon and toast are better than bad sex. And bad sex is still pretty goddamn good amirite? Yeah, I’m right. Anyway, this shit ain’t fancy. It’s just good. Consult your cardiologist before indulging.

This place is like a dive bar for burgers. There is not a lot one can say about such a miniature place with a small menu, but it is becoming one of my favorite little lunch places. It’s never too busy when I’ve been there — which is good because I don’t think they can seat more than 20 people inside — and they make a solid classic cheeseburger with all local ingredients, including locally made buns and locally sourced beef. I haven’t had anything except the cheeseburgers, but they apparently serve breakfast all day as well. This place is a little bit of Americana that you don’t see anymore. Lunch counters and traditional American food for the working stiffs out there who don’t want to drop $ 20 for lunch every day. Oddly the only other places I have found that are similar to this one are other burger joints that have been around going on 100 years. This place is from that era with a history of being a popular local chain many decades ago. This is the last one and they are still holding the tradition and formula that once made them one of the most popular. Everyone should go here if nothing else just to support that idea that places like this is part of what defines the American culture. The other reason — very good, simple and reasonably priced comfort food made right every time. So while it may not be a gourmet burger with duck confit anf port wine reduction, it get’s 5-stars because is is a master for what it does right; which is not try to be something that it’s not and sticks to the roots of what made it popular all those many years ago before lunch counters fell out of fashion.
