I always get the bowl, white rice, green beans(which are wonderful) and 4 pieces of chicken. But, I think their portions are really getting skimpy. This time I only received 17 green beans, now if I can count them, that’s bad. I ask for less rice, doesn’t mean I want less beans too.

I came just to get some cheap lo mein noodles and veggie roll. No veggie rolls available. Got a small order of lo mein that was almost inedible… and I was looking for cheap and greasy already. Really bad. To top it off, the fortune cookie was so stale I spat it out.

If you hit this place during lunch rush the food is super fresh with real pieces of chicken and good vegetables. If you show up well after lunch rush they don’t seem to put much effort into keeping the choices stocked or fresh. It is a major difference in quality depending on when you go. I see a lot of people order the green beans if you’re a vegetable person.

This place is 10 times better than the other location. The portions are large and prices are fair. I appreciate this place because they have different options other than the usual suspects at other chains like Panda Express and Leann Chin. They have Korean rice bowls, Vietnamese salads, and the standard chinese dishes. I always get the spicy green beans, and they’re really charred and spicy unlike the greasy ones at the other spot. The noodles are kinda yummy, and I love that they have spring rolls — both shrimp and veggie. Their peanut sauce is delish. Try something other than the typical dishes, and I think you’ll be surprised!

As far as price goes, this is one of the better fast-food asian food places I’ve ever been to. The quality of the meats and ingredients are far above other nearby locations(i.e. Skyway Wok). Before I started focusing on a more healthy-diet, I would enjoy Asian Max at least once a week while working downtown. They have very large portions that, for the ordinary appetite, will provide two meals for an individual. Their spicy green beans are a hit, but I personally enjoy the Sesame Chicken, Basil Thair Chicken, and the Terayaki Chicken, along with the fried rice. Another reviewer had given a one-star review simply on an upcharge for sauces; however, if you think about most restaurants today, this isn’t that abnormal. Many restaurants charge additional for sauces(BWW, Joe Senser’s, etc.). I think this was an unfair review on their part which has skewed the overall rating of this place. In summary, do yourself a favor and avoid the digestive issues by choosing Asian Max over Skyway Wok.

Asian Max is OK, but unless you get there during the peak times the food can have a stale, warmed-up feel to it. The last time I was here the sesame chicken was more sloppy bits of sauce than actual chicken. The sesame chicken at Skyway Wok is way tastier and more substantial. Also the fried rice I had tasted like it had been sitting there for several hours. Again, Asian Max is a decent option for fast Asian food but it’s best to get there during the rush because, even though you may have to deal with the crowd, the food is much fresher.

Tried it again for the first time in months, and I have to say, I was surprised. Either my taste has gotten worse, or they have improved. The spicy green beans(which everyone raves about) were actually really tasty this time! Every other time I’ve gotten them they’ve been oily, soggy and virtually flavorless. This time they were hot, crunchy and full of flavor. Also, I had the coconut chicken, which was very good. The coconut dipping sauce was a little much, though. Next time, I’ll do without. Much better, though!

It was okay food with a not so good selection. I would go back with the group I originally went there with, but if I had to pick all by myself it would get passed up in an instant.

Great food! A must stop for people looking for great food and good portions. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food. My favorite is their spicy green beans.

When you want a quick, decent, reasonably-priced Asian food fix, Asian Max hits the spot. Try the spicy green beans. Friends and I like them so much, we often forget the name of the restaurant and just call it spicy green beans. We all know what it means. Often a line here, but they move it along pretty well. Oh… if they ask about sauce for your rice say YES!

In terms of price and quantity, it is a good deal. But the taste is… I doubt that I will go there again.

It’s hard to find a spring roll in the Skyway, yet here they are. I’m usually a plain-white-rice-thank-you-very-much kind of girl, but there’s something about the server lady’s smile and gentle wave of her ladle that made me try the ginger sauce the first time. I’m glad I did. The green beans are where it’s at.

We went there around 2 o’ clock, only 2 of us, their food almost gone later we knew they closed at 2:30 pm. But it is ok, I still want to try them because of I saw 4 stars on Unilocal. The choice left were spring rolls which huge(veggie or shrimp), lemongrass chicken, spicy basil chicken, teriyaki chicken and fried rice. Spicy basil chicken looked yummy so we both chose it and for the side, one shrimp spring roll for me and my friend chose cucumber salad. The spicy basil chicken I would say not spicy at all, there was a mild sweetness in it unfortunately I didn’t taste any basil at all. Their shrimp spring roll, it mostly was rice vermicelli. Fried rice non greasy and more like soy sauce taste like. Overall they are not typical chinese buffet thingy. But not a real asian food either. Due to the price, quick service, location and the portion I say it is a worth visit if I worked in the skyway.

My coworkers could not say enough about Asian Max. I tried it on Friday and I have to saw it was very good. I don’t know any«fast food» Asian restaurants that have fresh spring rolls(veggie or shrimp) as part of the combo meal. A two item combo was only $ 5.99 plus tax. No wonder there was a line, but it moved very quickly. Definitely worth the visit, located on the skyway level of One Financial Plaza, near D. Brian’s.

Visited for my first time today, and was told to try the special… and it was worth the purchase! The special today was rice(white or brown), sweet and sour chicken, and spicy green beans. The sweet and sour chicken was good, but slightly soggy, as most fast food places are. The rice was so-so, but what sold the deal was the spicy green beans. These were absolutely delicious. All for under $ 7.
