What an outstanding find. Not much to look at from the outside, but the inside is comfortable and welcoming. And the food is so outstanding — I immediately went home and started looking up recipes to copy. I had the Lomo Saltado — absolutely amazing. Service was prompt and very friendly, the owner/chef is a terrific guy.

Tamal, empanada and papa rellenos for appetizers are wonderful! We also love ordering the aji de gallina. It’s creamy and tasty every time. There is a fettuccine dish with steak that is a Peruvian-style ‘pesto’ with spinach basil and cream that is just to die for called tallarines verdes con apanado de carne! This place is an amazing find and we come back every year when we are in town, we don’t miss it!

Inti Peruvian was a pleasant surprise on our recent trip to the Poconos. We were looking for something a little different for dinner and compared to all the standard American bars and restaurants in the area, this place really stood out. We ended up getting the palta rellena for an appetizer and the Tallarines verdes con apanado de carne and the Churrasco encebollado for our two entrees. The first thing I will say is that the portions were gigantic for the price. Overall the churrasco and the palta stood out above the tallarines. As for service, it was excellent and the food came out rather quickly. Parking was easy and bonus points for BYO.

This restaurant is fantastic! I am originally from Queens and this is the best Peruvian restaurant that I have ever been to. The servers are extremely friendly and the ambience is very warm and original. Great first date place!

Absolutely amazing experience! Food and service was phenomenal. We went there two days before we moved across the country and were saddened we hadn’t found it sooner! The meal was so good we still talk about it a month or two later and we had such a great time relaxing. Such a small, cozy place with an amazing owner who was so conscious of everything happening in the restaurant and all the guests. So wonderful and we will definitely be back when we visit!

Not sure if it’s Peruvian food that’s not doing it for me, or some of the food here is a bit plain. Definitely some positives. Very friendly and accommodating management. Lovely environment. Family operation that’s warm and inviting. The cevice was a bit heavy on the Tilapia and light on shrimp, but good. Soups were ok, appetizers were just ok too. The standouts include a nice Peruvian drink called Chicha, which is almost like a virgin sangria/mulled wine with spices. Also the deserts were good.

I am in shock of how long we had to wait to get a simple appetizer. I am not exaggerating. We waited an hour for empanadas. Yes they were very fresh, warm, and one of the best we had tried. However, an hour wait is just ridiculous. We did not say anything to the waiter as he seemed very nice and polite. Then our 2nd appetizer came 15 minutes after our 1st one. Then we had to wait about 20 minutes for our entrees to come, after our appetizers. This was the longest I’ve ever had to wait for food. We wanted to get dessert but honestly could not wait some more ridiculous amount of time just for a piece of cake. So we left it at that. Very sad that the food is so good and authentic but service was the slowest I have and probably will experience in my lifetime. There was only one waiter for the whole restaurants(from what we saw the few hours we were there) & probably one chef???

I am in complete shock of the service here based on the 4.5 starts reviews. We literally waited 40 minutes for WATER to be served. Then another 25 for simple appetizer. When the food came out it was cold. The first meal — steak was dry, hard, very very tough on the outside. The second meal– was cold but actually tasted okay. For this experience I am leaving 1 star. Not to mention, I asked for lemon with my water. The waitress took 10 minutes to get back.

I have been hearing good things about Inti for awhile and was finally able to stop in! Promptly greeted and seated by Julio. Very Cute Peruvian décor. Byob. Friendly service. Ordered a couple appetizers. All very good. Papa Rellena and Beef Empanadas. But, the mixed seafood ceviche was unbelievable! Out of this world amazing(Calamari, shrimp, tilapia, mussels, red onion, in the most delicious spicy citrus juice). I will be back for that ceviche and to try some more of that menu!

For the amount of restaurant in this area, this is not a bad option. I came with a few friends during our trip to the Poconos a few weeks ago. It’s a nice welcoming and home-y feeling restaurant. We were a party of four at like 6PM, the restaurant had a couple of tables. The waiter was attentive, patient and nice. The food is quite authentic looking and interesting. I had a seafood/shrimp dish(doesn’t remember the name of it), but I do remember that the sauce had a nice kick. I guess everything felt pretty average, nothing to that quite blew my mind. Still a good option if you’ve never been here before!

This place is a small jewel of food flavors in the Shawnee on Delaware area. It is small and it is intimate like having a dinner/lunch in your countryside home. The food is delicious for a fair price. I like the seafood with coconut sauce. I even got their local soda(Peruvian) which is similar to our root beer. What can I say? I love food and this joint has lots of it…

I can’t say I completely hated it but I just know I won’t be coming back. I initially heard of this place online and based on its rating I decided to try it out, BUT I failed to read the reviews. The place is pretty small, it has nice Peruvian decorations, and it gives an overall good vibe. They give you a nice warm welcome, take your order and then you’re just left there to wait! It took no less than half an hour for the drinks to come out, when I asked the gentleman for a straw he took another 15 minutes to come back, and about half an hour after they initially brought the drinks out they finally brought the appetizers out. As the waiter passed by I tried to get his attention to simply ask him for a glass of water and he just kept walking by and seemed more interested in talking to customers, or possibly his friends sitting at the opposite end of the restaurant. For the whole time I was there he definitely was more attentive to them and just lingered around talking to them. I understand passing by and chit chatting with other customers, but when it has almost been close to two hours and you still haven’t served the main entrée and you don’t seem to care at all, I bet anyone would be upset. From what it seemed like they only had two people working, the waiter and maybe the cook in the back, and that is no excuse to make people wait for that long and make them feel unwelcome. If I had not drove an hour to try this place out I would have walked out, but after waiting so long I figured the food was going to be worth the wait. But once again, I was wrong! I have had Peruvian food many times before, as well as the Lomo Saltado, and I did not like the way they made it. It was ok tasting, but that is mainly it, just okay, and the portions I thought were small, which I would have been okay with if I didn’t have to wait TWO hours to finally eat a simple meal. To top it off when I asked the waiter for the check he seemed extremely uninterested in how my experience went. An apology for the wait would have been great, but apparently it’s a common issue based on the other reviews I have read, so his disinterest seemed appropriate. Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anybody unless they want to pay for overpriced food, a long wait, and rude customer service.

What to say about Inti… You would never expect to find a cultural place like this in the mountains of PA. The atmosphere, the people, the food, all of it feels as though it belongs in a city center. The food was absolutely spectacular. My girlfriend and I came here on Valentine’s Day to enjoy a dinner together(by the way MAKE A RESERVATIONINADVANCE.) There was definitely a wait involved, and that’s the sole reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars. Marvelous find, a true hidden gem in eastern PA.

BYOB :) Lomo was good. Paella had cheese. Churasko was bigger portion than normal, better the next day. Appetizer: try the yuca and empanadas.

Eating at this place I kinda felt like i was in Peru. Everything was delicious, even though i never had Peruvian food before(unless you count Nobu) Server was a bit less than attentive, but the food more than made up for it. The little corn snacks they give you before dinner was deelish! Stop by Popcorn Buddah afterwards for the craziest flavors or Popcorn ever!

Winner Winner Peruvian Dinner! We were passing through the area and tried this place in part because of the Unilocal reviews. Service was wonderful! The host was very friendly and helpful. The food? Unashamedly authentic and delicious. Bravo!

You only need to know this: Inti is BYOB, has friendly and attentive service, amazing food(even if portions are small) and is clean, clean, clean. But that would make for a short and boring review… so let me ramble on: Growing up I had several Peruvian friends but we never discussed food. So aside from Inca Kola(which still brings me back to childhood) I was unfamiliar with Peruvian food and drink. There have always been a couple of restaurants in and around Hudson County to try but it took a Pocono getaway for me to finally sample some great Peruvian fare. Reading about Inti on Unilocal I noticed a lot of chatter about a purple corn juice. Naturally, it was the first thing I ordered even though I had a bottle of wine in tow. Two weeks later, I’m still dreaming of that purple corn drink with chunks of pineapple, apple and strong notes of clove and cinnamon. I need to make Chicha Morada for Thanksgiving and then every day after that. Chicha Morada. Chicha Morada. I even love saying the name! Another thing I loved were the free snacks of Peruvian popcorn they leave on the table. It’s more like dry, giant corn kernels with a dusting of spices. I wish the bowl was bigger! I couldn’t get enough of them. If you absolutely hate those, take them with you and mail them to me(kidding, not kidding). My partner started with the Papa Rellena and I noticed how the deep-fried potato(stuffed with a hint of beef, onions, olives and a hard boiled egg) had INTI engraved into the crust. It doesn’t take much to amuse me. Potato art is a good start. Anyway, I love yucca and tried the crispy Yuquitas a la Huancaina. The spicy huancaina sauce was visible throughout the menu and that’s because it’s so damn good! Basically a blend of farmer’s cheese with saltines, garlic, peppers and milk. Who knew that combo could taste so good? Peruvians, that’s who! My main course, however, was kind of underwhelming. Maybe because I was already so giddy over the food at this point that I was expecting the entrée to really blow me away. Portion was tiny. The amount of shrimp and scallops in my Tacu Tacu de mariscos was highway robbery for the price charged. They even skimped on the rice. Turned out, the amount was just right. The sauce, delicious. I think my greedy little eyes wanted more but my stomach was perfectly satiated. So much so that I had no room for dessert… but that didn’t stop me from ordering some to go. Wanted to try the alfajores cookies but those were sold out. Settled on tres leches cake. Hours later, it did not disappoint.
