I was pleasantly surprised by the Lassen Café and greatly enjoyed my tasty hot spiced wine with a cinnamon stick, cloves, & hot apple cider! It seemed like the first day on the job for the cashiers though even though they had a lot to learn they were quite friendly and attentive.

After the long drive to Lassen Volcanic Park the one thing I wanted was a chai tea latte… does that still count as roughing it??? lol! They do have sandwiches & other food items that you can eat indoors OR eat outside at a table with THE BEST VIEW EVER.
I purchase 2 eco friendly reusable water bottles that are marketed as THE ANTI-​BOTTLE :D Both useful & cute.
The gift shop has some cute stuff, including sweaters & sweat pants for those who didn’t realize it was chilly here during the summer.
