Horrible Customer Service! Stay Away!!! I recently made the mistake of taking my vehicle to Lem’s for some fairly major engine work. I live in near Uptown Charlotte but was willing to take my vehicle far out of the way given the lower price that I was quoted for the service. This turned out to be a mistake. I was told to drop my vehicle off as early as possible on Friday morning given the length of time that the job was going to take. My girlfriend took the day off and drove my vehicle to Lem’s. At the end of the day, she was told that job was not going to be completed that day. No reason was given. As a result she was stuck in Waxhaw. She was assured that the job would be done by 11:30AM the next day. Since she did not have a vehicle at her disposal on Saturday, she was unable to work which completely negated the cost savings we were hoping for by giving our business to these backwoods country hicks. The next day, Saturday, there was no communication from Lem’s. My girlfriend called Lem’s half a dozen times and left two messages trying to find the status of the vehicle. Her uncle called repeatedly as well. No one ever picked of the phone. No one returned the messages. Frustrated, she had a family member drive he 20 minutes away to the shop. It was closed. She banged on the door. No one answered. I called repeatedly and left messages which were not returned. Sunday came and went. No communication from Lem’s. I was without a vehicle and had to rent a car. Again, more money out of my pocket as a result of using this extremely unprofessional shop. Monday morning, I finally received a call stating that vehicle would be done soon and that I would be contacted as soon as it was done. I was never contacted. Again, we had to proactively call Lem’s to get the status of the vehicle. What then made the situation worse was that I was Blatantly lied to about what had occurred. They claimed that they had only been called by us once and that the call was returned. This is completely false. They also claim that they told us that they hadn’t started working on the vehicle until 4PM on Friday. This is also false. It turns out that they ordered the wrong part and had a part for a V6 instead of a V8 when I specifically told them that it was a V8. Somehow they felt that this was no fault of theirs. They also claim that they told us that it was unlikely that the work would be completed by 11:30AM on Saturday. This is also completely false as we were assured that the work would be done. Of course, they never bothered picking up their phone for us to confirm whether or not the work was done. This is By Far the worst service that I have EVER received from a service station. My time was wasted. My money was wasted. I don’t know how Lem’s thinks that it is Okay for them to jerk people around like this and keep their vehicles for days longer than was promised. They could not be more inept and unprofessional. I would Never recommend this shop to anyone. Now that the work is Finally done, I’m just hoping that my vehicle doesn’t fall apart within the next few days as a result having had work done at this crappy chop shop. And Lem’s also left me nice final F You in the form of several greasy rags being left inside of my vehicle.

Absolutely can not be happier! Having used my car heavily for pizza delivery I had quickly racked up needed repairs. After being quoted 440 for front rotors and brakes from a local import mechanic I decided to call lem’s just to see what they would quote me. After paying 220.06 for brand new rotors and brakes on my jetta I absolutely am going to be calling them back for quotes in the future. Never before have I been happy enough with a mechanic to actually want to write a review but these folks definitely deserve some recognition.
