Island Tanning

After signing up with my package and going for my first tan I instantly regretted signing up. I would not recommend this place to anyone, tan anywhere else but here. The entire salon was very unsanitary and the bed I was in wouldn’t even close without me getting up to use my body weight to push it closed. The guy told me I was getting a «deal» I went through the tan and the guy said he would give me a free spray tan. So I got undressed, in the booth, and waited for the machine to start which it didn’t. The spray tan finally machine finally turned on and did not spray me with anything except for air. After all of this I was so frustrated and felt like I waisted money and time already so I asked if I could get my money back. The guy that sold me the package said he could not give me my money back and that he already processed the transaction. I have tried getting in touch with the corporate office about this issue and have not heard back from anyone. The beds suck and they will steal your money.

I haven’t tanned in years, and I decided to try out islands tanning, not only did I love the high pressure bed but the staff was very helpful, and knowledgeable as well which was a great experience for me! Nice, clean and always a smiling face to greet u.

This place is in a pretty convenient location and the prices are always decent. The best thing is the sales are not pushy, and you don’t feel pressured to buy more tans. The mystic tan is pretty straight forward and thorough. Following the directions is quite easy so you so don’t end up with a darker front than back or vice versa. It also dries you which is real nice, so your clothes will not be tinged brown!

I tried to redeem a Groupon that I purchased for Island Tanning, and the new owner would not accept it. I had just purchased it just 2 weeks prior, and she said they «bought out» Island Tanning several months ago, but they never «took them off the deal». (There were Island Tanning logos throughout the store as well as a giant, lit-​up sign on the outside of the building) She stated that I could pay an extra $ 40 and she would honor the package that I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED. She also continued to disparage Groupon (not their fault), and the other Island Tanning locations, saying they would try to «upsell» me. Sounds like she’s the one running the scam.

WAYYY too expensive! When i came in to talk about packages, the girl told me it was her first day so she didn’t have a lot of information to give! Who leaves their new employees to fend for themselves?
