Although the entire street has signs for«Best Cheese Curds in Wisconsin» I will say this place does a pretty good job(we had cheese curds from a few other places and those were mediocre in comparison)! Happy hour was fantastic(and long) I think I paid $ 3 for Stella Cider! Bartenders were friendly, and there was a good mix of locals and tourists in the bar. Very relaxed environment. Definitely will be back on our next trip!

Great place for lunch. Cheese curds were awesome! Was on a work trip and would definitely come here again when in Milwaukee.

Was really excited for famous WI cheese curds, but was disappointed. They seemed to be homemade, but they were not cooked enough so the batter was a little raw. That being said, the service was friendly, the jalapeño ranch salad dressing was tasty and we appreciated the grilled wings, which had a nice charred flavor.

I am a Points East wing addict and I’ve been on the hunt for any place that can rival them, especially since I don’t love the«points east experience» of long waits and less than welcoming service. So, after reading some reviews I headed to Who’s on Third to see how they compared. First I will say the atmosphere of this place is not much of an improvement over points east.(Disclosure: I’m getting old and don’t appreciate the rowdy vigor that I used to). You will walk in to the sound of loud over-played music, push your way through the kickball team having beers after their game, and try to grab the attention of the college-aged bartender who is more interested in playing bar dice than taking your order. You will be handed a wrinkly paper menu with food stains on it and you can peruse the decent beer selection and minimal wine choices. The menu has a lot of food options to pick from and you will have a lot of time to look it over as you try to flag down a bartender who is busy pouring shots for everyone around you. If you came to watch a sporting event you will have ample television options to choose from around the room. The vibe is standard sports bar, lacking in culture of any kind, and without the warm fuzzies of a classic MKE dive bar. On to the food: The cheese curds were delicious… really delicious. The breading is thin and the cheese is gooey goodness. I am not usually a marinara fan, but their marinara is chunky and flavorful and was a great addition to the cheese flavor. So I definitely recommend trying them. The wings, sigh. I wanted to like them but I was not impressed. We tried the classic hot and parmesan garlic. Note: an order comes with 8 wings and you can split the order half/half flavor. Both were dry rub, which I am a big fan of, however these were really dry. A few of them were actually really black and burned. Beyond being very salty, they lacked real flavor which was disappointing. They were decent sized and meaty, but overall… B– in my grade book. Maybe we just had a bad bunch? I know these wings have won awards and I expected better. My hunt will continue. I am still giving it 3 stars because it’s a good place to watch sports and have a beer in a semi rowdy envirnoment. The cheese curds were great and they do have a large food menu. Also they serve food until 11PM.

A group of 6 of us came in from Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Sam was the best server we’ve seen in Milwaukee. Fantastic service and attention to her customers. Drinks were always full, and her recommendations were spot on. The cheese curd was to die for, and the rest of what our party of 6 ordered was well received. Great beer selection and the food was great– appetizers through entrees. Would highly recommend to anyone(particularly if you are in Sam’s section). Enjoy!

Cheese curds are amazing! The atmosphere is nice with large TVs. I had the kicker burger and it was juicy and had thick cut bacon on top. The server was super as well. Highly recommended.

50 cent wing Thursdays, how can you beat that? This place is great because of the service of the bartenders and bar backs, the food and the music! The play all types of music which I love! Now the wings are great, my favorite flavor is the garlic parmesan and bourbon, those will not disappoint! I like that the flavor is not over bearing, it is just enough. The cocktails are pretty good, my friend had 3 and it was enough to get him a little tipsy. Ps– this place is probably the fewest in Milwaukee to serve food late.

Cheese curds for days, my friends. I don’t know if all cheese curds in Wisconsin are incredible just they’re made in the cheese state, but these were definitely the best I’ve ever had. They were battered in the local, «Lakefront» beer and came with yummy ranch. Because Milwaukee is also known for its breweries, we asked our server what her favorite local beer was. Instead of simply telling us, she brought eight sampling cups to our table and gladly talked us through all of them. Talk about great customer service! The Spotted Cow beer was by far my favorite– light and not super hoppy. Just when I thought I’d died and gone to heaven, our server brought out a massive pulled pork sandwich. It was great(if you couldn’t have guessed by the overall theme of this review). So glad we stumbled upon this place! Yes, it’s loud, but it makes for a fun atmosphere. The front of the restaurant was open to the outside and there were people of all ages inside. Our server(Madelyn?) was so kind and fun and it was overall a great experience.

Always a party!!! Very fun vibe with lots of people around. LOUD so don’t come if you’re looking for a private intimate dinner. Great beer selection. THECURDS are sooo amazing. One starred knocked for the loaded brat being just good. Would definitely come here again for some good old Milwaukee bar food.

It was LOUD in there, we went to watch the Final Four and the volume level was crazy high on the tv/music. Got the mac m cheese brat and it was excellent! My only gripe is that I would’ve liked the bacon and Mac n cheese to be warmer. Side of fries were meh, too oily for me. Cheese curds weren’t the best I’ve had in MKE, quite oily as well. crispy bacon, shell Mac n cheese, usinger brat and spotted cow in hand and a side of cheese curds you can’t get anymore Milwaukee than that. Summary: on the better end of bar food, very MKE, great«game» atmosphere loud beware :)

I’ve been here twice. Once for a friend’s birthday party on a Saturday night and once last night to try the wings I’ve been hearing people rave about. It was shoulder to shoulder crowded the night of the birthday party with a younger crowd(20’s). I felt like I was on Water Street, which I try very hard to avoid. My friend’s party was in an adjoining room where the average age of his guests jumped 20 years over what I walked through to get to the party. The bar itself is long and with the tables, there isn’t much room to walk when the place is crowded. There is a large screen with a projected TV, so it’s probably a good place to watch a game. Last night, the three of us were the oldest in the bar, by far. It was fairly quiet around 9:00. We were greeted by a friendly and outgoing server. We placed our order and didn’t have to wait long. Two orders of wings arrived. For $ 9.95 you get 8 wings. There are at least 8 sauces/flavors to choose from and you can split your order to have two sauces/flavors per wing order, so 4 wings per sauce. We tried 4 of each of the Scorpion Whiskey, Bourbon, Classic Hot, and Sriracha Ginger. All of them were good, but we all preferred the Classic Hot as our favorite. Then we were split between the Sriracha Ginger and Scorpion Whiskey as second favorite. The wings were crispy on the outside with grill marks, so likely deep fried and finished on the grill, and tender and juicy on the inside. They were also a good size. Overall, our server was excellent, and I liked the wings enough to order them again if I went back, but they weren’t going to replace any wings in my top 5. It’s unlikely I’ll make it back to try other menu items, unless another friend hosts an event there, then maybe.

This place makes some of the best burgers in Milwaukee. It is a fun place to go watch a football game and it is LOUD. The long narrow bar and grill has plenty of space. The service was good but the food is what will keep people coming back. The onions on the burger are batter fried as well as the French fries! We had the cheese curds but either they were having a bad day or people around these parts have not had good curds. First off the server forgot to bring them and served them at the end of the meal. The cook forgot to cook them and hence the bad review but the rest of our meal was out of this world. Go out of your way to visit this place.

Who’s on Third? Clever name for this spot on 3rd street. Not only do they have such a witty, clever name but they also have excellent service and solid pub fare menu. They do it up right and the atmosphere is inviting. They have great happy hour specials and lot’s of room for large groups. We had an office party at Third and it surprisingly turned out to be a perfect place to host it. The wings, fries, and a few other appetizers that were served to us were great. I would call this a sports bar as they have a lot of TV’s and I think it would be an excellent place to catch a game. Good things going on here!

Good service. Good beer. Lots of tables and tv’s. Ordered the chips and grandma’s dip as recommended by my fellow Unilocalers. Chips came hot and the dip was fantastic. Also decided to go with the award winning Siracha garlic wings. Not so great. The sauce was delicious, but the skin was not crispy. I hate non-crispy chicken skin. In fairness, the meat was juicy and hot and the flavor was good. 3 stars for the wings. 5 stars for everything else = 4 stars. I’ll stick to Points East Pub for wings.

Great place for a game or a couple of drinks on a night out. I came for the Mets game when the World Series was on! They had some trouble figuring out the TV’s since they are all linked somehow, but it worked out in the end! I’ve tried the brat with macaroni and cheese and it was pretty dry. The Siracha wings were great and the cheese curds are good. It’s in a good location, has great bartenders, and a fun vibe! I would definitely stop on in for some drinks!

The wife and I planned on going to Octoberfest for our 30th anniversary but things didn’t go as planned. So, rather than doing nothing we decided on throwing a belated party, for family and close friends. Open bar, appetizers, and 2 of our favorite bartenders. Who’s on Third did not disappoint. With minimal effort from me, but maximum persistence from the owner of Who’s on Third, we had a night to remember, as did many of our guests who told us so days /weeks later. The food was top notch, but more importantly, the staff of Who’s made ever person who attended the party feel like it was being thrown at my home and«everybody(from Who’s) knew their names». That one night celebration was better than any 2 weeks we could have experienced anywhere! I asked for a specific dollar amount zone and as is typical, the costs were less than planned /discussed. Yes, it’s a young crowd that frequents the place, but with our private side of the establishment, it was perfect for our select group of family and friends. We don’t miss a Thursday night unless all hell is breaking loose. Between the same friendly staff, excellent $ 0.50 wings and a nice mix of customer base, we prefer to be at Who’s on Third then at Home looking at each other and asking«What do you want to do tonight».

We came here for dinner and a drink on a Wednesday night. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by a server who also seemed to be tending bar. We both ordered their special of the night– $ 6 Captain drinks– with diet cokes and perused the menu. Drinks came out promptly, and we were ready to order. We both ordered medium burgers– I got the Kick burger, with the kick sauce on the side. The burgers came out shortly after, with my sauce on the side. When I cut my burger in half, I noticed something strange on my knife and realized I’d gotten my burger loaded up with sauce on it, and also the sauce on the side. Not idea, but not terrible. It mostly soaked into the bun, so I just ate most of the burger without the top bun. The sauce itself had a strong chipotle flavor. It wasn’t bad, but it just tasted super calorific, so I wanted to keep it to a minimum(I mean, I already had two cheeses and bacon on this burger already!). The burger itself was really good! Great flavor all around. The fries were good as well. And for $ 9.95 I left stuffed and satisfied. I would definitely come back here again. Service was good, food was good, and drinks were good. Great expereince!

Yesterday was my very first time in Milwaukee, Wi. Great midwestern town so far! I’m a big Mets fan and we needed a place to watch the World Series. I googled sports bars and actually started out somewhere else. But the first bar, while nice, was very quiet and I was looking for something a bit more lively. The Green Bay Packers also had a game on Sunday Night Football so we knew there was a crowd out there. The bartender at the other place suggested Who’s on Third and off we went. When we got there, the staff listened to us and got us a great table to watch the Mets while still being around all the crazy Packers fans. The food was perfectly adequate(50 cent wings for Packers games — get the Ginger flavor) for a bar and they did a great job of mixing in music when the football game was in commercial. The best part of the night was our waitress Rachel. She gave just the right amount of attentiveness, was lightning fast with drink orders, and was very helpful in telling us about Milwaukee. She took great care of us and made us feel at home. Very impressive to see a young lady showing so much pride in her work.

Super friendly staff, chill atmosphere, and crave-worthy food! The bouncer was chummy and receptive. We went with his top grub suggestion, Wisconsin Cheese Curds, and they were not to disappoint… by a long shot. Absolutely worth it. The staff seemed to genuinely care whether or not we were comfortable and enjoying our food, which is always a great sign. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in the city!

Had my first lunch here and really enjoyed the food. It was Saturday and didn’t opt for brunch although the menu was good and they offer free mimosa with order. Instead I tried their bacon blue burger and because I was feeling low carb I got it without the bun. I find that this is the best way to tell the quality of meat and toppings. Bread hides a lot of mediocrity. Meat was really juicy topped with blue and crisp bacon along with crispy fried onions in same batter as their cheese curds. By the way my husband ordered those with meal and they are definitely out of bounds. Super thin coating crisp on outside and soft and gooey on inside. But for me I got the side of broccoli which was perfectly cooked. A tad crunchy and a beautiful healthy green. With no sauce making it a broccoli purest dream. It’s hard to do good plain broccoli but they nailed it. We sat outside which is lovely hanging on third street watching the fun go by. I’ll definitely be back to try more menu items.
