Toppers Pizza

Toppers is awesome… at any other location. I’m unfortunately in the geographic area of this one. I’ve called for delivery — hours after they were open — only to be told a delivery driver didn’t come to work. Really? And, they couldn’t call someone in? Yesterday I decided to try West Milwaukee Toppers again. After standing at the order desk with another man for five minutes, while a cook systematically ignored us, we (the other gentleman and I) realized there was another employee hiding in the back. She came out, looked at us, and walked over to the kitchen door/​corner and just stood there avoiding eye contact. I walked out at this point. The kids were already buckled back into their car seats — the littlest one in tears — when an employee finally ran out to ask us to come back in for a free pizza. Just too late. Look, I worked in fast food for six years. I get it, and I would love to fairly compensate a business and its employees for a good product and service. I sincerely hope the one excellent employee trying to do the right thing finds a new job with fellow competent co-​workers. In the meantime, I can only think that the owner/​manager is absent because the inmates are running the asylum.

Just tried to get food thought this place was open till 3am but I guess the lazy employees didn’t want to work never ordering from here again!!! Manager called me after internet order with 30min of business time left for late night food, but I guess there not delivering anymore tonight!

They miss orders or bring parts and if you order late, before closing though. They delete your order

money for pizza but after hearing the terrible voice advertising to me for 5 minutes and being on hold for another 11 on a Thursday night, shutting it down. Terrible. Just take my order.

I can’t keep it more simple then this. I was delivered the worst pizza of all time.

I personally love toppers ! There was this one incident where they had messed up my order but the delivery guy gave me a 50% off coupon on anything on the menu. He was very apologetic and took full responsibility. I had ordered the loaded totes with no bacon. I can not eat bacon. Ever since then they haven’t messed up and great service! I Love that they’re open late and their cheesy sticks are to die for :) perfect late night snack!

Toppers, I’m really disappointed with you this evening.
We ordered the house pizza + Triple Topper Stix Special for $ 20.99 for pickup.
The person on the phone was really helpful in helping us get a veggie pizza with the right toppings, half and half, and sauce requests, so I was hopeful. When you get a triple Topper Stix you get three sauces for «free» and then extras will cost you. I thought we would try something other than the garlic butter and requested Nacho cheese, parmesan garlic, and smoky BBQ.
The first disappointment was when I called in the order for my significant other to pick it up and I couldn’t pay on the phone because it was a pick up order. That didn’t make any sense, why not? It would be the same as delivery, which they will let you pay over the phone for.
Second disappointment was when we got the food. We ordered a thin crust Toppers Classic with light cheese and substituted ½ black olives and ½ tomatoes for the pepperoni. The pizza was fine. When we got the Topper Stix, they tasted okay, BUT the sauces we received were: parmesan garlic (?) and Smoky BBQ. Where was the nacho cheese?
Okay, fine, no nacho cheese needed because we have two other sauces, right?
WRONG.
We got one cup of Smoky BBQ and one tiny cup of terrible.
The parmesan garlic was so bad. It tasted like caesar dressing, ranch, and rotten pickles. It was AWFUL. I live across the street and considered throwing it back into their parking lot because they didn’t have an official return policy posted, but on second thought it was even too awful for the snowbank to consume.

The smoky BBQ was good, but we have ½ a triple topper stix (yeah, you do the math!) and no sauce left. I was so disappointed that we didn’t have the nacho cheese, it was supposed to be our backup dipper.
If you’re kinda desperate for pizza, toppers might be the way to go, but I am pretty turned off by the parmesan garlic because it was just that bad, and the fact that I can’t pay over the phone. Yeah, it’s that inconvenient. Even Maxie’s lets me pay over the phone.

The good: Nice location near busy Miller Park Way businesses, super fast service, consistent products, decent prices, good menu.
The could-​be-​better: The pizza always looks so great when you get it… but then leaves a puddle of grease in the box by the end. Not as many deals/​offers as its competitors, but still A-​OK options.
