Super friendly and the owner is always asking for feedback and giving samples of hee treats. So far the tres Leche cake and the vanilla bean cupcakes are the best.

I love this place they have a beautiful decoration and the people that work there are so helpful I buy two slice of the three milk cake(tres leches) it was fantastic it was not wet like the ones that they sold in the Mexican store .They put extra milk on the side in in case you will like a little bit more and the milk or sauce was amazing. I went to buy the tree milk cake(tres leches) because i read an article that say it was amazing and i agree you can find the article in on Milwaukee.

I cannot say nicer things about Terrazas Cakes and Pastries. This shop specializes in creating custom made-to-order birthday, party, and wedding cakes and cupcakes. It’s not the type of place that keeps 25 different cupcakes at the ready for shoppers to purchase. It does have a single case of ready made items for purchase but the sweet spot, pun intended, is customized offerings. Terrazas did an amazing job creating a custom cupcake order for me. I walked in on a random Tuesday night and was greeted by the friendly team of sisters who own the shop. They helped me narrow down my options and helped brainstorm a fun custom cupcake topper which was a series of photos scanned on an edible cupcake film cover. It was brilliant! I even was able to sample the Chocolate Nutella mousse cupcake that they offered. It was delicious. The transaction was seamless and I was even able to pay at a later date, closer to the order pick up time. A friend ended up picking up my order on the night of the party I was hosting and they said the TOGO packaging was excellent for transport. The sisters who own Terrazas used to bake out of a church basement. They were finally able to open up a storefront and Bayview is lucky to have them! Next time you need a custom cake or cupcake order, definitely consider giving them your business.

I found out about this place when I lived in Bay View — as they had just opened up and I guess there was an opening celebration with the Alderman = Facebook photos everywhere. Stopped by on a Sunday early afternoon right before the Packer game in hopes I would find a treat here to help celebrate the boyfriend’s birthday. It’s in the spot that Choco Bell used to be in on KK — small, but cute. When you walk in, it is beautifully decorated, well lit and clean. There are samples of their fondant cake for display. The woman behind the counter was extremely friendly and seemed well versed in the products they had. Available for sale were various cake pops, different varieties of flan, tres leches cake and two styles of cupcakes. More so for myself, I splurged and got the flan and tres leches because I love them so much. For the birthday boy I decided to get one of each of the cupcakes: a chocolate nutella mousse cupcake and the strawberry shortcake cupcake. Overall, I think I paid a little under $ 13.00 which I did feel was a great price. Because we are how we are, we ended up sharing all of the deserts instead of just eating the ones I allocated for each of us. The flan had a great flavor and consistency, exactly what I expected. The chocolate nutella cupcake was also tasty. So, why the two stars? Minus one star for the selection. I guess when I see that a place specializes in baked goods and pastries that there would be a larger selection than the single case of items available. Minus one star for the tres leches cake. This one is probably deserving of being minus two stars, alone, though for being such a deal breaker. The tres leches cake was extremely dry — and NOTATALL A TRESLECHESCAKE. It was a cake that just barely had any of the milks thrown on to it. In hindsight, it should have been a red flag when the woman assisting me started to spray the«milks» onto the cake in the to-go container. I thought it had been made the traditional way(meaning, that it was baked as a cake, the three different milks were added and refrigerated overnight so that the cake can adequately soak in and retain the flavors and moisture of the milks) and that she was just adding a little extra milk solution to it. It was very clear once I tasted it that she had only just then added the milks to the cake. I can’t fully explain the level of disappointment I have about this, especially because it is a Latino/a owned bakery and that’s one of the biggest insults you can make to a cultural favorite. I. can’t. even. NO. just. no. Minus one star for the strawberry shortcake cupcake. The cake itself was great — there was strawberry clearly infused into it, which nice. It was a little on the dry end but I think the biggest thing that completely threw me off was the frosting. And I thought maybe my taste buds were fooling me but clearly it was not just me, because boyfriend also got the weird hint of what seemed to be blue cheese in the frosting. I understand if you are doing like a special savory frosting but this was probably not the case based on how the woman described it to me. I don’t think there was any blue cheese in the frosting, but it was a very surprising, disgusting, unexpected flavor that I got and I’m really upset about it. Overall, it was a great experience INSHOP, but once I actually tasted some of the products I was deeply disappointed. I MIGHT be back, I’m not so sure I can forgive the damage they’ve made with the tres leches cake, though.
