I really was excited to try Supper. As excited as I was it really was disappointing. The service is mediocre at best. I thought the food was decent but for the money not such a great value. The appetizers were very good, steak tartare, oysters Rockefeller, and mussels. Entrees not so good Salmon was not the best quality and my guest though that what they had was just ok. I won’t go back to many places with better food, drink and service for the money.

We had a great time. The Grilled Shrimp appetizer was AMAZING. Three huge shrimp. The pickled green beans and asparagus were so good. They each had such a unique flavor. I had the Pork Chop with Chive Spaetzle. It was the best pork chop I have had in years. It was so flavorful and moist. Cooked to perfection. My son had the Half Duck. He said it was good, but could have been better. For $ 33, it should have been better. We heard the ice cream drinks were really good so we tried the Brandt Alexander. It was Awesome!

My book club had our annual holiday gathering here earlier this year. We started at the bar and enjoyed some great cocktails. I had the Shorecrest 75, which I enjoyed so much I ordered it again round 2 :) I loved the attention to detail that was put into the restaurant itself — very roaring 20s. When our party was complete, we moved to the private room which is actually off of the hotel lobby area and separate from the restaurant seating. The room was beautiful. I really liked the wood paneling and tasteful décor. There was a large table with room for all of us(party of 12) in the middle of the room and low music playing. Our waiter was very attentive and had plenty of room to travel around the table freely to distribute our food. It truly felt like we were in our own little restaurant. Our group ordered several of the appetizers, including lazy susan, beef tartare, and shrimp cocktail. We really liked how the menu reflected the supper club feel and the appetizers were easy to share among our larger group. I selected the steak diane with the seasonal vegetables for my entrée and was pleased. It was very flavorful and I had leftovers to take home to my husband who was unable to join us. This is saying something re: the portion size as I eat a lot of food, and RARELY have leftovers! I would definitely recommend booking this room for a small private party of your own!

Loved Supper. Creative menu in a really cool location. Loved the art deco vibe. Great drinks and the service was friendly and attentive. I’m planning to take my parents there next time they’re in town.

Amazing, start to finish. Supper is a throwback homage to dinner clubs of yesteryear, but remains remarkably relevant to today’s sophisticated modern diner. The moment you walk in you’re struck by the polished brass and black leather of the bar and soaring banquettes. Shimmering Gatsby-esque chandeliers hang low over the stark wood tables, themselves set impeccably by a staff who has an obvious eye for detail. We started at the bar, some classic cocktails prepared expertly by the very efficient bartender Jackson, who was kind enough to transfer our tab to the table(though we did still tip him!). The liquor selection is expansive, with plenty of bourbon and rye, specialty brandys, and apertifs to choose from. The craft beers were all local and regional, not going any further than I think MIchigan to the east and Minnesota to the west. Reasonable but strong wine list as well. Our group was sat at a large round in the middle of the room, with a great view through high windows of the foot and car traffic along Prospect Ave. We ordered some Oysters Rockefeller(could eat these for days…) beef tartare with poached egg, and bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp, then their«Lazy Susans» to start — very shareable appetizers that swing around to let you get at the good stuff — bacon jam, trout spread, assorted cheeses, deviled eggs, et cetera. Every dish had its own unique flavor profile — Chef obviously cares about the small plates. On to the main acts: I can’t speak for the group other than to say everyone was happy with their selections, but my Delmonico ribeye was cooked perfectly and also perfectly rested, and the steak’s natural juices combined with the Bordelaise and horseradish crème fraîche on the side made my life. Steak was like butter. Kudos to whoever was working grill that night. Service from Mikeisha was fantastic – she was very knowledgeable and recited five special items to us off the top of her head. Liza(Lisa?) helped as well despite being off the clock and offered some great humor to the night. The owner even stopped by our table to ensure we were satisfied — we were. All in all, Supper would make a great date night, formal dinner, or casual spot for drinks and apps at the bar. Can’t say enough — 10 of 10, will definitely be back.

I love Supper’s take on the old supper club and they execute it well. They have really thoughtful, cohesive menus with classic cocktails/contemporary cocktails, and classic supper club entrees/contemporary entrée options. Service was fantastic; ask for Daniel. He’s great at giving recommendations, if you need them and even arranged for a sweeter version of a cocktail because I’m a wuss. I really liked all of the food and desserts we ordered, too. They give you a complimentary crudite dish with some raw and some pickled veggies and a buttermilk dressing. Loved it. I also loved the«Lazy Susan» option where you can pick three little appetizer things(we chose some cheeses, deviled eggs, and braunschweiger) and it comes out on an adorable lazy susan. Great for sharing. Be warned, prices are high here but it’s a classy joint and the portions are huge. The décor is also lovely. Parking is rough in that area but they have valet for $ 7 if you don’t want to hunt around.

Sometimes a small plate isn’t enough. Sometimes you need a large plate. You know, the kind of plate that can hold even more stuff than a medium plate. That kind of plate. When you want that plate, you should go to Supper. Supper has large plates. When I visited Supper, I got my big, round, white plate served with a thick, juicy, meaty pork chop on top. But even my chop wasn’t enough to cover the whole plate, so they loaded the plate with other stuff like chive spaetzle, braised cipollini, ginger crème fraiche, and spiced apple butter. That really filled my plate. And me too. Of course, it wasn’t just the delicious stuff on the large plate that satiated me. It could have been the smaller plate that I was served first, which was covered with spinach and slathered in slow egg, buttermilk blue cheese, red onion, and warm bacon dressing. The spinach plate provided more sustenance than you’ll often get on other’s small plates, so I really didn’t need the large plate. And if I didn’t need the large plate, I definitely didn’t need the smallest plate: the dessert plate! That plate was covered with banana bread pudding, banana rum caramel, banana tuile, and vanilla bean ice cream. Sheesh. No wonder I was so full. And I didn’t even mention the bread plate or the pickled veggies plate. In short, Supper is a wonderful new Milwaukee restaurant offering large plate supper club style entrees and ambiance. The food is great, service superb, and the cocktails expertly crafted. About the only bad thing I can say about Supper is… it’d be one hell of a place to be a dishwasher! ;)

Hubby and I checked out this new spot for Valentine’s Day. I had heard mixed reviews of this place, but we love Wolf Peach so we figured we would give this place a shot. The meal started with bread and a vegetable medley(crudités). Both good. I especially liked the curry pickled onions. For our appetizer we had the oysters rockefeller and the foie gras torchon. The oysters were amazing and I normally don’t even like oysters! The foie gras was also very good, and I am normally really not a fan of it. The jam that is on top helped balance out the richness of the foie gras. So far so good, right? Well, we were definitely underwhelmed by the entrees. I had the duck two ways(duck sausage and duck leg), while hubs got the veal. First off, my sausage came out and the inside was cold. Had to send it back which they were plenty gracious about, but I think they just took the sausage off the plate and nuked it til it was warm. As for the flavor… I really wanted to like the IDEA of the entrée(there is a roasted fruit salad that is laid underneath the duck), it didn’t come together for me. The sausage was dry and crumbly. The bits and pieces of apple /pineapple were fine, but didn’t blend into the other flavors of the dish at all, didn’t really add anything to it. The leg was cooked well though. Maybe I would come back here just to grab some appetizers at the bar, as those were awesome, but probably wouldn’t come back for the entrees.

Supper was great! The menu is reminiscent of a classic supper club, but with a modern take. For example, they present you with a great menu of classic drinks, and provide a more modern relish tray when they bring you the drinks. I would say that perhaps they could offer some sandwiches or salads to entice people to return regularly(one of the staples of a supper club is having the neighborhood regulars) who don’t necessarily want a heavy pork chop, veal, or oysters rockefeller. The waitress was very friendly, and explained some of the dessert items to us in a very appealing way. The art deco environment, and especially the bar, make a very welcoming environment. They have a menu of ice cream drinks too, so it could be a cool place to go for a drink after dinner elsewhere. A few suggestions I made on their comment card were to make it more apparent outside that the restaurant was open — which they did just a few weeks later. One complaint I had was the unclear parking situation. We parked in the available angle parking behind the building, and tried to enter the building from the rear entrance, which you cannot do(this entrance is for residents only). Unfortunately, it isn’t marked, so in the cold and snow we walked all the way up the entrance only to find out we couldn’t get in that way. We then tried to walk through the parking lot, only to find out there is a fence and gate so you can’t cut through the parking lot, we had to walk all the way back out to our car, and around the block to the front of the building. Not a big deal, but in nice clothes while it is snowing, a simple sign could have alleviated that. Overall, the food, service, and drinks were all very good. Highly recommended!

Seriously would call this five stars. This was some of the better«supper club» food I’ve had in a while. As a 90’s babe, I missed most supper clubs but have been able to sample a few of the remaining ones, of which some have left me feeling rather grossed out. Supper was a modern take on the supper club with updated versions of classics. We shared Oysters Rockefeller and I could’ve had the whole thing myself… Delicious. I then went with a French onion soup and apple frisse salad covered in walnuts and goat cheese – quite pleased. Man piece went for a more traditional«meat and potatoes» style and probably licked the plate when I wasn’t looking. We both indulged in a few too many cocktails, myself the New York Sour – omg, and he a few Manhattans. We shared a dessert drink – Kentucky something, and oh my word! Yumsville. It was a wonderful and long overdue date night! Will be back to Supper with the parentals!

Supper was THEBOMB. I had little bites of everyone’s food at my table and nothing disappoints! I ordered the Veal Oscar, which was AMAZING. Ordered Medium Rare the veal was tenter and flavorful. Caramelized onions highlight the sweetness of the crayfish and bernaise. Oysters. Awesome French onion soup. Awesome Chicken noodle soup. Inventive, out of the box, surprising, everything you expect wrapped in a different package. Ask for Makisha as your server. She’s knowledgeable on food and wine. When I described what I was looking for in a wine she encouraged us to order the En Route Russian River Valley 2013 Pino Noir. PERFECTION. What an amazing time. Wow. I’m blown away.

I really want this place to be good, since it is only a block away from where I live. We went early on a Friday night and were the first diners, though there were some people at the bar. I ordered Chicken Angelina, which was good but a bit spicy for my taste. My wife’s salmon was a bit bland and had an odd texture; she said it needed work but still said she would give the restaurant a B+, which seems to me a bit generous. I will say that our service was fine, with none of the problems mentioned in some early reviews. And those who don’t live as close as we do might find the valet service useful, since street parking is always a pain around here. The night we were there, the valet did not come on duty till 6.

I was recommended to go to Supper by the waiters at Wolf Peach(one of my favorite restaurants). When we arrived on a Monday night it was pretty dead– three tables total. It took us about ten minutes to be seated. After we were seated it took about five minutes until we were greeted. We noticed the table next to us was celebrating a birthday. We ordered four patron shots for us and then asked to order four for them. We also each ordered a drink and some appetizers(Rockefeller oysters, muscles and Beef tartar). The waiter had took the time to process their whole bill, bring them their card, and wished them a nice night. After we waited five more minutes the table began to leave. At this point, the table was leaving, so my friend ran to the bar and told the waiter to not bring the other four patron shots. He apologized and brought us ours. We took them and then waited another ten minutes and still did not receive our drinks. At this point there were only two tables in the entire restaurant. We decided that it would be in our best interest to leave at that point. We told the waiter that we would like to leave and close out. He apologized again but then charged us for an $ 80 bill– we had 4 patron shots. It then took another 10 minutes to figure out our bill. We saw the(what we thought was) the restaurant manger over in the corner while this was going on the whole time. Once we started walking out she walked up to him asking him what happened. Not ONCE did she come to our table. I am so incredibly disappointed because Wolf Peach is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Milwaukee. It saddens me to leave this review, but I highly doubt that I will ever be back to Supper.

I was pleasantly surprised by Supper. I went with friends to celebrate a birthday and we found it to be a wonderful«Gatsby» styled restaurant in the historic Shorecrest Hotel with great cocktails and food. We loved the innovative cocktails, especially Moving Heaven and Earth. And loved the Lazy Susan appetizer, a true throw-back to 70’s supper clubs. The Braunschweiger mousse was awesome and the smoked trout mousse was outstanding. Chicken Angelina was incredible and both the duck and wild boar, tricky meats, were perfectly prepared and delicious. We will definitely return to this neighborhood gem.

The first time I went to Supper, I was disappointed that the menu seemed to be dominated by huge slabs of meat. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand a supper club is about meat, particularly juicy, perfectly cooked steaks. I just don’t think the smallest steak on the menu needs to be 16 oz! And the pork chop is 18 oz! Where in the hell do they grow pigs that big? The draft beer selection was stocked with beers I had never tried and the bartender was happy to describe them and offer me generous tastes. My latest visit brought a whole new line up to try! Night 1, I tried the ricotta ravioli with mushrooms. I also had the frisée salad with apples and apple butter-delicious and unique! I loved the ravioli as well. Visit #2, I went for crispy cauliflower and potato. The Indian spices in this dish made it extraordinary and will be my definite favorite here. I still have other things to try. They also have a carry out menu now that has smaller, less expensive options. Maybe a steak under a pound?

It’s been 30 years since we’ve been in this spot. We remember it as Snug’s and then something else. I was happy to hear that something new had moved in. Honestly, I had low expectations because you Unilocalers have been unnecessarily hard on this restaurant. We LOVED our meal. Our service was IMPECCABLE — attentive without being obnoxious. Knowledgable without being snobby. An incredibly friendly and cozy spot. Before we had even finished perusing the menu, we were given a nice little crudité plate that was filled with some pickled vegetables and yummy snacks. Also presented was a basket of rolls and two types of butter. We ordered cocktails first. I had the Supper Old Fashioned and it was terrific. Hubby had the Manhattan, which was also great. For starters we had the Calf Liver Mousse which was caramelized onion, black truffle, crispy bacon on a crostini. Delicious! Then I had the wedge salad which was delicious and had the unique topping of pickled onion. My husband had the french onion soup and he really liked it. For entrees, I had the Steak Delmonico and Hubby had the Lobster de Jonghe. Both were really good. Because we wanted to try out everything, I had the Bananas Foster which was very different — more like a bread pudding and Hubby had the Brandy Alexander which was excellent. As we were finishing up, Hubby asked whether I liked Supper better than Joey Gerard’s. I said that I did. It felt a little smaller and cozier. But both are good. I will say this wasn’t the best steak I’d ever had, but it was really great and the overall experience was outstanding.

We stopped by here randomly on a Friday night. It was surprisingly empty, or even packed, for a new restaurant on the East Side. We were seated immediately, though being at the bar probably helped that. There were two bartenders and they both seemed pretty busy the entire time — which is weird, since there were only maybe 10 people in the place. We had trouble getting their attention, as did the folks at the end of the bar. I remember them waiving their hands trying to get a refill on a drink, and me having to ask a server for a refill on my water as well. When I ordered my drink at the beginning, it didn’t come out until mid-meal. No bueno. We ordered the Lazy Susan, with the braunschweiger, deviled eggs and cheese. It was just okay, if even. Not too impressed by it, as it did lack flavor and was a weird mix of foods in general. Would not recommend. We also ordered the Salmon, and Steak Diane. Boyfriend seemed somewhat pleased with the steak, I thought that my salmon was a little too dry for me, but the sides were amazing. I really enjoyed the spinach purée and creamed corn. I don’t know that I’ll be back, maybe once they are a little more established and work out their kinks. Overall, a disappointment considering they are associated with such a great restaurant(Wolf Peach).

Only mistake by this restaurant was to name it a common noun like«Supper». People that do that don’t understand how search engines categorize information, and doing it reduces your ability to be found. Regardless, the location is very cool. It’d have been cool to see this old hotel turned apartment building in its heyday. It was a little noisy, but the place was full. Lots of seating, just needs a little sound damping near the corners. As per the service, it was a little slow. But the pauses were nice to allow for conversation and choosing the next course of action. We ordered drinks, a 3 option lazy Susan of appetizers, and entrees. The trout mousse was amazing, and I felt better than the delicious one from Rushing Waters. Seasonal cheese was a couple of selections including a deliciously salty blue and more delicate white. I don’t recall the third option we chose. Bread with freshly made butter was fantastic and unexpected when it arrived. I had the Steak Diane, served medium rare. It had a homemade Worcestershire sauce and cut like butter. Mushrooms were amazing and complements well, as expected for this classic dish. My wife had the Surf & Turf, and it too was perfectly cooked. We took leftovers home, but only just a little. The dessert and ice cream drink menu looks fantastic, but we were stuffed. All in all, there’s a lot of different price points to be had here for meals. From high $ 18s and low $ 20s to mid-$ 40s. 4 stars only because it was a bit loud and our drinks took a bit too long. Clientele was generally older, with very few younger groups. Valet available, and IIRC $ 7.

The upside was there was curbside valet, and a table for three without a Rez on a Saturday night! It soon went down hill from that. 20 minutes to fulfill our drink order and once we ordered it took almost an hour. Hoping it would be worth the wait. WRONG. The dishes where horribly executed and my over priced salmon was not a nice selection. It seemed to me like a frozen filet. Not worth $ 28! My friends had the same experience with their food. Sorry Supper you are not worth a second try. I prefer a chain Resturaunt like Devon in Bayshore where I know I’ll get great service and the food is consistent !!! Key component in a Resturaunt! Consistency.
