After a night stay at the Hilton, we came to Starbucks in the morning to grab our usual order. When I walked in, the ramp to the left had people waiting for their drinks, so naturally, I walked all the way around to stand at the end of the line. I waited for about 10 – 15 mins(long enough for my fiancé to grab our car from the parking garage and drive to the Starbucks) when I was next in line, a family of five came up the ramp and stood next to me. They browsed the menu, so I didn’t say anything about where the line actually started. Then when the cashier said, «I can help who’s ever next.» I walked up to order and he just looked at me. I said, «Hi…can I get… oh, am I not next in line?» And he said, «Well, the line starts from over there.» I looked and it’s where I started when I first stood in line. So I began ordering and he cut me off after my first drink to give me the total, then cut me off after my second drink to give me the total, then I was finally able to get my whole order in. He never once asked, «anything else?» Instead he just assumed I should be done. Basically, the service was rude here, and there isn’t a clear flow of organization for lines. If the cashiers and baristas are confused if customers cut the line then their solution is to have signs that direct it. Also, most places want to up sell their product, so asking, «anything else for you?» is somewhat expected.

This Starbucks has some of the rudest baristas of all time, and it’s annoying that they choose to not participate in Starbucks advertised promotions(like 50% off a breakfast sandwich, buy one get one free drinks, etc.). On top of that they don’t honor free birthday drinks and I’ve also been turned down for redeeming my earned free drinks there as well. If it wasn’t so close to work I definitely wouldn’t go to this location — EVER.

Decided to spend a weekend at the Hilton and came down here for a quick breakfast. They will get your coffee order right, no matter how long your order is– but don’t expect the employees to serve you with a smile. I’m not sure what’s going on here, but everyone seriously looks miserable.

I think Starbucks service has slipped overall in the last few years. That being said, this location was absolutely terrible. It was Saturday morning around 9:30am, and I don’t recall ever waiting so long in a line as I did here. Starbucks — here’s the deal. You are in a hotel. You have to assume not everyone visiting you has ever been to a Starbucks. I feel I should have been paid for my coffee by YOU, not the other way around, as I was the only person informing your customers of your process. They would pay, and wait at the counter for their fancy confusing drink they just ordered. No one told them it would be delivered at the end by the espresso machine. So drinks were piling up, and there was pure chaos. Your store had 5(FIVE) employees behind the counter, and they all look rushed and confused. But the thing is, no one was helping the customers by telling them what to do. Ugh… please train your people. End rant.

I was downtown for Jury Duty. Here’s the verdict on this Wisconsin Avenue Starbucks location: It’s located in the Hilton Downtown which also houses the Miller Time Pub & Grill within its brick walls. I use this principle when faced with the two substances I like the most, coffee and beer. BEFORE noon is coffee, anytime AFTER noon is beer. My time of visit being before noon I ordered a short(8 ounce) Pike Place black coffee, Bacon & Gouda breakfast sandwich and Reduced-Fat Pumpkin Cream Cheese Loaf Cake. This location had not many customers so I received the full attention of no less than three employees. My food and coffee were delivered quickly and with friendly customer service. I enjoyed the food and drank the coffee(I make this distinction as having afforded the opportunity to consume superior coffee offerings in the past that, in my personal opinion, Starbucks coffee isn’t enjoyed as so much as simply consumed.) I took a «bar» seat overlooking the hustle and bustle of Wisconsin Avenue. It wasn’t until after I exited to the hotel and passed a fireplace that I learned I didn’t select the best seat in this Starbucks.

Yikes. Ok, I know it’s fairly new, but having been a friendly neighborhood barista for 6 years, the problems this store has shouldn’t be happening anymore. My drinks are usually ok(unless the barista accidentally spills the last bottle of caramel deliciousness). But the service… woof. Being told after paying, that if the other barista«ever comes back, your drink will come up right over there». Then standing and waiting while the two other people working do nothing, and wait for the third to return… not ideal. I’ll probably still go, because I work just over a block away and when i’m in the mood for a treat, it’s convenient. But I sure hope they shape up their attitudes!

Cute Starbucks in the Hilton Downtown, across the street from the Delta Center(soon to be the Wisconsin Center). It’s got all the usual bells and whistles — cooler of drinks and pastries, breakfast sandwiches all day and baristas ready to top off your caffeine addiction. Plenty of tables and seats and power outlets. There’s been something wrong that they don’t have the phone-app scanner, though the staff have worked out how to key in the numbers manually. Otherwise, the experience is the same as at others.

Positives: — It’s a Starbucks. Can’t go wrong with their coffee! — Friendly and speedy service — Never a long line here — Warm fireplace, decent workspace, outlets here and there Negatives: — No scanner for the Starbucks app, because this Starbucks is owned by Hilton. They’ll manually type in your gift card, but redeem any free drinks — Parking isn’t great. Can get busy in the morning.

I don’t care that it is a massive chain, I love Starbucks. Having never been to Milwaukee before, and needing to kill some time before an interview, I stopped by Starbucks for double espresso and to warm up a bit. The interior is very nice and welcoming — sort of a local coffee house vibe mixed with a somewhat corporate attitude [It is a part of the Hilton Hotel]. Also, free wifi! As always, the coffee is fantastic and the staff is super nice.

Nice little place. Downside is that it can get loud at times. Staff is really cool. Inside the Hilton hotel.

Great location on the first floor of the downtown Hilton. It’s a tight space but it all works. Friendly staff, fast service, wifi, typical SB ambiance, great coffee.

This SBux is only 2 blocks from my office, so I’m a twice-a-week regular at their counter. The staff are all great, and always have a smile on their faces when you order. The only downside to this locale is that it is affiliated with the Hilton Hotel next door; you lose the ability to pay via your phone, and if there’s a conference at the hotel(as there is about once or twice a month), the line can literally be 20+ people at 8:00AM.

I feel like I need to write a review since I have just recently been named the Dutchess. I go because it is open at 6am. My local place closed it’s doors a few months ago forcing me to go to Starbucks. It’s nice enough, staff is friendly. Kinda cool that since they are in a hotel that they have a map on the wall with push pins of all of the place people have visited from.

I am a huge fan of Starbucks, particularly when traveling for work. Of all the locations I’ve ordered from, this one stands out. The staff was incredibly friendly and prompt. there was never a line or a long wait or a need to ask for a refill on milk and sugar. The location has a great ambience too. It’s the kind of coffee shop you wouldn’t mind spending some time in.

Oh, to review a chain… the quandary, the shame… Whatevs. I had to go to here for a meeting — this Wisconsin Ave. Starbucks a location not chosen by myself. SO, Starbucks it was kids. But you know what? For all the hatin’ that you do, make sure you’re hatin’ right. People hate on WalMart on the time, but guess what? Your beloved Target is a greater offender to the masses in a lot of ways. Sbux. It’s huge, it’s taken over the world, and it’s a sign of mass Westernization.(Starbucks opened a location in China’s Forbidden City in 2000, it was closed in 2007.) So yeah. True story. BUT! They employ local people who spend their money locally and need jobs. How mindful is the giant green goddess versus other local or now not-so-local coffee chains/shops/purveyors? I’m not the expert in that department, and I’m not going to spend the time to become one right exactly now. But the people behind the counter were sweet, and my soy latte was, to quote Elektra artists«The Cars» 1978 smash, «…just what I needed.» Nice people and coffee. Sure. Why not?

Ok, I’ll admit that I’m somewhat of a Starbucks junkie. If I’m ever in a foreign city or location, one of my first impulses is to find the nearest Starbucks(if anything, just so I can mooch off the free wi-fi). And like I said in a previous review, a Starbucks is a Starbucks, you either like them or you don’t. That said, this Starbucks location is quite sub-par. And it wasn’t until I looked it up on Unilocal that I realized why. I agree with everything that has been said about this location– it’s not a corporate store, it’s an affiliate for the Hilton Hotel. They are missing many of the benefits that I have come to enjoy at other starbucks including 10 cents off your drink if you bring your own cup and access to the starbucks digital content site via yahoo through which you can download/stream free music, books, and movies. The wifi is probably through the Hilton and really unstable. The only thing this location has going for it is just that– location.

Hey, it’s a Starbuck’s!!! So, yeah, what can I say that hasn’t been said before? I love getting a quad-shot vent non-fat white chocolate mocha. The cookies are decent. The music can be a little hokey, but who doesn’t wear an ipod these days? I still hate Starbuck’s regular brew. Way to weak since my Alterra spoiling over the years. This location is one of my preferred since I can pop off the 30 line and usually get my coffee and back out for the next cycle in ten minutes when I’m on my way downtown from Marquette.

I love Starbucks! I have an affection for my favorite drinks that are rotated frequently depending on season and mood. I am that person who’s order sounds like a monologue and who eye spies the bartista’s to ensure my drink is just perfect. Most Starbuck’s I encounter follow the corporate recipes an my drinks are consistent no matter if it’s a Starbucks in Atlanta, Chicago, Milwaukee… This location however is lacking! They’re sneaky too… It looks like they’re making the drinks correctly but somehow they consistently taste off: like too much syrup, not enough tea, too little ice, always too much or not enough of some key ingredient. It’s so frustrating! This place is hit or miss buy mostly miss. The only appealing thing about it is it’s location in the Lobby of the Hilton I stay at. My recommendation is to just stick with the basic drinks and don’t get anything«fancy».
