Stumbled upon this Riverwest gem last spring and became and instant regular! Speaking of regulars, the ones that call this place home are great and never short on stories. Only heads up I’ll give is that it’s cash only, closed on Tuesdays, opens at 2pm during the week and 11am on the weekend, and closes at various times (call ahead after 8pm). For sure my favorite spot!

What a fantastic hidden gem in the riverwest neighborhood. The bartenders are cocktail geniuses and the hostess could not have been more helpful. A touch expensive but the quality of the overall experience made it well worth it.

I could not agree MORE with the other Unilocal reviews. The squirrel cage literally has everything you’d ever ask for in a nightclub. from the high-​class VIP section offering exclusive bottle service to the ultra posh restrooms and dance floor, the squirrel cage has it all! One convenient feature that this club offers is the free valet parking on weekends. This is truly is the nicest bar and club that Milwaukee has to offer and it is highly recommended by all who attend.

Few bars in the Riverwest area of Milwaukee match the sophistication of the the Squirrel Cage night club. The uniformed bartenders are masters of the cocktail arts, mixing with only the finest gin and olives imported from Sardinia. The crowd after 10PM is an eclectic bunch. Poets, artists, and revolutionaries rub shoulders with the beer city bourgeoisie. The $ 20 cover charge to gain entry is a bit prohibitive, and sometimes the parking lot is full. Jacket and tie required.
