I used the Groupon deal to see Brooklyn and it was fabulous from beginning to end! I was greeted by a very friendly customer service rep and Brooklyn came quickly.
She asked good questions about what I wanted to do with my hair and wasn’t frustrated when I was somewhat vague. «I just need to be blonde again.» «Do you prefer warmer blonde?» «Here’s a picture of what my hair used to look like.» «So maybe cooler?» «Warmth is great too, just need to be blonde.» Haha! Sorry, Brooklyn!
She went back, mixed the color and came back quickly and completed the highlights pretty fast too! Not too fast, don’t get me wrong. I’m just used to it taking forever. She kept up conversation and when all was said and done, I breathed a sigh of relief! I felt like myself again! My hair was a light reddish brown and now it’s a beautiful blonde that blends really well with the old color. I’m so happy with it and will definitely be back to see Brooklyn!

I had my 1^st visit today with Tyler for a haircut and it was beyond AMAZING! He talked with me asking what I was looking for, had suggestions and it turned out great! He is a great person to talk with and I am so happy with the cut I received!

Salon Thor was excellent. I was searching for a great place to get my haircut since moving to Milwaukee in January and I’m extremely happy I found Salon Thor. The groupon with Brooklyn was a great deal! Deep conditioning treatment and a haircut for under $ 20… what a deal.
Would definitely recommend Brooklyn to anyone. She did a wonderful job and was careful not to cut my hair shorter than what I asked for. She is great at giving you subtle layers and cutting side sweeping bangs.

Went over to Salon Thor thanks to a Groupon and happy that I did! I really enjoyed my experience there — clean space with inviting vibe and great products available for sale (10% off during April!). Brooklyn is amazing — she was great at constantly communicating and making sure everything was exactly what I wanted. I love the haircut and would definitely go back!
Unsure about the deep conditioning treatment that was part of the Groupon as it was on my head for barely a minute and my hair feels no different than it normally does, but I didn’t ask to see the product or read the directions so that’s my bad — just never had a deep conditioning treatment that barely touches your hair before it’s rinsed out (all treatments I’ve previously had involved minutes with the product in the hair and usually hair wrapped/​under heat light). When I did ask, I was told that it was already put in and rinsed out, so I guess something was used as treatment.
Overall, great experience and perhaps just a new method of conditioning treatment.

Tyler was excellent. Listened and recommended what was best. New to the area so I was super nervous about some one new doing my hair, he put my nerves at easy and will go back for sure! I’m happy I found a new hair stylist in Milwaukee :)

Was visiting Milwaukee from out of town. I called, at the last minute and they fit me in right away. I have had a lot of experience with bad haircuts, not the case here. Al, my stylist, is a great conversationalist and very good at his job. I’d highly recommend him and Salon Thor.

Finally, finally, finally — I found a stylist that ‘gets’ my hair, understands my lifestyle and is completely chill. CJ is a gem and I’m sure I’ll regret telling everyone, because it will only make it harder to get in to see her. She is skilled, precise, careful and really understands how hair moves and grows. These seems obvious for a stylist, but I can tell you it’s not. If you want a haircut that grows out great, works well with your hair texture and compliments your face — see CJ. She’s also a great colorist. When I walked into work today every single person I talked to complimented me on my hair — the color and cut. I mean, who doesn’t like to be called Foxy?!
Bonus — the salon is professional but not stuffy, it’s easy to book online and the location is convenient even if you don’t live in Bay View — essentially right off of 794/​Lake Parkway.

I finally found it — someone who will spend the time to do the back of my stacked bob right! CJ is great: skilled, thoughtful about her work, punctual and easy to talk to. Extra Bonuses: super easy online booking and great local wares for sale. Highly recommend this place.

I recently saw Tyler for a hair cut & he did a lovely job! He listened to what I wanted, walked me threw everything & was caring.
My hair is damaged from coloring that I have done to it & Tyler was able to make it look chic again! Thanks Tyler!

Salon Thor is my favorite place to go after a stressful week at work because getting my head shampoo’d by Tyler’s magical hands makes all of my worries go away. He has done just about everything to my hair: dramatic haircuts, highlights, ombré, full color, deep conditioning treatments… I could go on. I trust him to do it all. He’s got a gift of pleasing people and will probably keep you coming back for both his charming personality and his talent with hair. I’ve bought multiple hair products from Salon Thor solely because of Tyler’s suggestion, and now I’ve found my favorite shampoo and conditioner in the entire world; I will never go back to Walgreens for hair products. Make an appointment with Tyler at Salon Thor if you want to treat yo’self, you won’t regret it!

Thor is truly a talented and wonderful man. I had gone to a different salon to get my long beachy hair trimmed and cleaned up, but what I had gotten was really bad layering… like someone took a huge bite out of my hair. I went to Thor for a consultation and he really took the time to listen and assess my hair’s situation. He explained to me what my hair needed to have a finished and cleaner look.
Booked my hair cut appt with Thor and was NOT disappointed. I can’t explain how happy I am. Just take a look at my before and after picture. You’ll see for yourself. :)

My first visit to Salon Thor was not great. I think my stylist was having a bad day. I didn’t like my haircut and my brows came out uneven (which is the WORST!). It was also my first time leaving my new baby and I was hoping for a bit of a pampering at the salon, but ended up feeling rushed like I was an inconvenience. Although 75 minutes were set aside for my appointment, I was in and out in under 45.
Immediately after the appointment, I was sent an email asking for a review. I completed the review honestly and the salon manager sent me a reply asking me to visit again for a complimentary cut & brow wax. I finally decided to give it another go and I’m so glad I did.
This time I had Tyler as a stylist and I really enjoyed my experience. He was friendly and professional. He listened and asked follow-​up questions to make sure he understood what I wanted. He showed me the products he used, but didn’t pressure me to purchase anything. He didn’t make me feel weird about leaving a tip (I hate when the salon ASKS if I want to include a tip when I pay). And he made me really assure him that I liked my hair before he let me out of the chair. I love that. Sometimes I’m hesitant to be completely truthful if I don’t love my hair at the end of a cut, but I felt like I could have told Tyler if I wanted to make some adjustments and he would not have been at all offended. To me, that’s a great stylist.
Unfortunately, my second brow wax wasn’t a great experience either, so I can’t recommend Salon Thor for brows. I have been back for another cut and loved my cut again this time (and chatting with Tyler).

After testing out a few salons in the area I’m happy to report I found my new one! Andi is a great stylist and the whole staff in general just makes you feel very at home and welcome. I was very pleased with my haircut and will be returning regularly :)

The reviews don’t exaggerate — Salon Thor is a gem in Bay View! Top quality salon, very relaxed, pleasant atmosphere, and down-​to-​earth and skilled professional stylists work here. I could add a bunch more positive adjectives.
I have only seen CJ because she was the first person to do my hair here and she is absolutely wonderful. She will help you find your style, keeping it within your comfort zone, your preferences, but still encourage you to try something new and edgy to improve your look!

Otherwise, price is worth it.
Really nice natural products for sale, but they don’t force you to buy stuff.

Fantastic salon and services and the atmosphere is friendly this is not a pretentious or snotty salon, the stylists are friendly and you can feel comfortable going there in casual clothes. I love the vibe at Salon Thor. I discovered Salon Thor when I saw a woman with great hair walking down the street, it was the perfect shade and cut. I was so impressed by her hair, that I actually asked her who did her hair. I have black, very thick middle eastern hair and for as long as I remember I have always had the secret desire to be a blonde. I have gone to so many stylists through out the years they all told me I could never do it and that I would end up with orange or red hair. And my hair got destroyed many times in the past. Being that my hair is so thick it is very hard for me to find someone who can cut it the right way or find color that lasts beyond a few washes. I went to Thor, he took his time he spent 5 hours on my hair and he made it the perfect shade of champagne blonde (on the 1^st try) and it didn’t fade for months. In 15 years of coloring my hair I have never had results this good with anyone else. Since starting to go to Thor a few years back I moved to the west coast. I’ve never found another salon that made my hair as good. To this day I still see Thor when I go back to Milwaukee to visit my parents. Even with living out of state I will always remain a customer! Thor is usually booked up far in advance so be sure to make your appointment ahead of time and not wait till the last minute. He can be booked up for weeks. Also Tyler is a fantastic stylist, he is courteous and friendly to his clients. He really listens and takes his time and is thorough. I have always been satisfied, he did a beach wave on my hair and is last for 6 days.

Thanks to Unilocal,I found Salon Thor. Though I don’t live close to Bay View, I think that I will definitely make the drive out there for this place.
Salon Thor is owned by Thor, who cut my hair, a super nice, very personable person, who took the time to listen to what I wanted and had some good recommendations. We chatted easily through the entire cut. He did a really great job and did not seem rushed and I was very happy with the results.
Everyone at the salon was super welcoming, the décor was nice understated, brick walls, warm lighting, clean.
I really also love that you can make appointments online — you wonder why don’t all salons do this? Prices were very reasonable as well!

Well, I had a wonderful experience at Thor. My co-​worker referred me to a hair stylist — CJ. CJ did a wonderful job to my old school hair. I had the same hair style for over 10 years. I told CJ that I want something different but not too funky. She asked me a few questions. like ‘do I use any hair products?’ things like that. CJ is very professional and you can tell she has tons of experiences. I am now referring my friends to CJ. I am so happy with my new hair style.

My typical routine when I go to Salon Thor is to sit down and tell CJ to do whatever she wants to my hair, whether it’s a cut or color. CJ works her magic and my expectations are always exceeded. Not only do I look great when I leave, I continue to get compliments on my hair long after I leave. I love Salon Thor!

Awesome stylists. Beautiful salon. Thor and Andi there give good hair. But remember, you get what you pay for — and you’re worth it!

I have been going to Thor since I was responsible for making it cool to live in Bay View. Kidding. But, for about 2.5 years, enough time for it to make sense to love it, and recommend it to everyone.
I cannot say enough nicey niceys about Salon Thor. Thor, the owner, is an amiable guy who took a little store front, and turned it into (in my opinion) the best salon in Bay View.
My stylist, Andi (a kick-​ass Brew City Bruiser), is always up for the bi-​weekly free complimentary bang trim. With my anal retentiveness for my haircut preferences, she happily obliges me every time.
I like the camaraderie the staff shares, and there is a sense of family between staff.
So hurry up, go get your haircut there now! Before it becomes like a fancy pants New York salon you have to book 6 mo in advance. Ask for Andi.
