Good selection of better cat food, litter, cat toys, and cat snacks. Prices are good if you’re buying in bulk. I’ve always found the workers to be friendly and helpful, I’ve never noticed any obvious mistreatment of the animals they keep and sell here, so maybe they’ve fixed the problems other reviewers have noted. I hope so. The store seems clean, there’s convenient parking in their lot in front.

Three stars because they are more attentive and knowledgeable than the store on 108^th.
I rarely buy any pet related items here unless absolutely necessary (read: in this area of town running multiple errands anyway).
This was an ok pet store, in my eyes, until I went into the fish room one day and saw fish with I heart U «tattoos» on their sides! This was right around Valentine’s Day. I noticed something similar around St. Patrick’s Day and, at Easter, the fish were dyed pastel colors. This was years ago, so I don’t know if they still sell fish like that, as I don’t often shop here, but what a disappointment! I eat meat, I’m anti-​PETA, but I am against animal cruelty, especially when it makes no sense, which this absolutely doesn’t. Tattooing fish? Seriously? Some people really WILL do anything to make a buck!

Everyone is helpful and friendly. I like coming here! I like that I can bring my dog here. She picks her out her own toys.

After my trip here today, I feel like I can give Pet World its final fifth star. They’ve made some serious strides fixing the gravel issue in their axolotl tank; they’ve replaced the dangerous stones with some fine black aquarium sand. Way to go, Pet World!
There are a few errant stones in the tank that need to be cleaned out yet (and I get it, it’s hard to clear gravel out of a tank), but they’ve made a serious improvement and I feel like that should be noted.
So, Pet World, thank you for addressing that complaint.
I still stand by everything else I said in my last review, so I don’t see any reason to rehash that at this point.

Bust out a cold glass of hater-​aid because I’ve got a lot of hatin’ to do on the this place! Normally I don’t shop at pet stores like this but in a pinch I stopped here to look at some hamster cages. Now– they had an awesome selection, I’ll give them that. Where other stores failed to provide us with the Lexus of hamster cages, Pet World came through and now our little buddy has a cage most hamsters would shank him for. So Pet World, you get 1 star for your huge selection.
Why do you only get 1 star? Well because you sell janky animals that look either dead or like they are going to die. The kitten that was for sale in the front looked like it had been picked up from the curb after being out in the rain all night. It was one of the saddest looking kittens I’ve ever seen. I actually felt like I caught something after petting it. Rabbits, mice, hamsters, ferrits etc all just looked like the life had been sucked out of them, like they would rather be dead than stuff into a small glass cage with little room to move. The worst were the birds. In one cage, there was a bird who was bloody, that’s right, blood all over this thing!!! Either is was stressed and pulled out it’s feathers or a fellow bird (one of the what seemed like 100 stuffed in the cage) was attacking it– either way the «friendly staff member» could have cared less. NOT COOL!
I will never step foot in this place again. I’ll stick to Bark ‘n’ Scratch– a place that sells way better products with educated staff that actually care about animals.
Oh yeah and Pet World, if you are going to have an abundance of staff that come up to me every 5 minutes asking if I need help, you may want to make sure they can actually help me! I believe I counted 6 people that offered their help but couldn’t follow through with any actually real help.

Poor customer service, incompetent workers, inability to process my credit card even though i am an authorized user. The worker refused to swipe my card! I have NEVER been refused before! if they want to lose my business they can, farm and fleet is cheaper. if I’m going to pay a premium on dog food, maybe you should pay/​train your staff better. also, teach them about credit cards and authorized users when they see names on it.

Things I love about Pet World–
It’s probably my favorite pet store in the area. Way more variety than Petco/​PetSmart.
The variety isn’t just for cats and dogs. The carry products for rodents, birds, reptiles, fish, etc.
If the cost isn’t comparable to their competitors, it’s cheaper.
They have an awesome selection of fish. I love walking through the department and seeing all the different fresh water and salt water varieties.
I usually walk in here looking for something special for my dogs, and I rarely leave empty handed.
Things I hate about Pet World–
This place looks exactly the same now as when I walked in their for the first time. When I walked into this place for the first time, the Video Game Exchange was right down the street ( Unilocalers under 30 won’t even know that reference). While I enjoy nostalgia, this isn’t the good kind of nostalgia. This place needs a few things replaced and a few coats of paint. Things look dirty, paint is peeling, heck, even some of the wood fish tank covers are warped. No one is going to want to shop here if it looks rundown.
A couple more employees to cover questions on the floor wouldn’t hurt.
This is still definitely my place to get anything pet-​related, especially anything hard to find.

Great store that’s not a major chain like Petsmart or Petco. You won’t see all the fancy colors and extra Sales & Marketing spend — but a decent store where you can find what you need.
They do a fair job of organizing departments. Cat/​Dog/​Fish/​Reptile pretty easy to navigate. The staff is usually knowledgeable and helpful.
They have a great variety of «better» foods, more holistic stuff.

This place has just about everything pet related and the prices are competitive. There is an extensive selection of birds, rodents and fish for sale. It’s a cool place and many people come in with their kids just to see all of the animals.

Stopped in last week for a few dog toys and food. Overall prices are OK, the help is fairly knowledgeable. I like the fish selection as well. The problem is the overall size of the bldg. and trying to find what I’m looking for. It seemed the help was very helpful but also difficult to find. I will be back for the necessities.

Huge selection of food, toys and accessories for any type of pet. Prices are generally pretty reasonable unless you have a more rare type of pet that requires special things.
I DO NOT like the fact that they sell animals. I just don’t feel it’s a good thing for the animals or the people. Too many hasty decisions and they do not guarantee their animals once they leave the store. Less of animal selling in pet shops could equal better quality of life for many.

This place is local and not PetSmart. That’s why you should come here.
The staff are always attentive, the selection of items are great for all types of animals, and the prices are no better or worse than anywhere else.
The place is huge, as you’ll see when you drive up, so you will more than likely find exactly what you’re looking for.
