Visited this place back in November while visiting my sister for Thanksgiving. Stopped by here with my girlfriend to meet one of her girlfriend who was having a birthday party here.(Wow that was a mouth full!). Place was pretty packed and there was a live band playing, which in my opinion is always good! The crowd is older but who am I to say that, I’m pretty old myself! This is your typical neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. My only issue with this place is the size of their drinks and the price. We ordered some birthday shots and they came in the size of a mouth-wash cup.(The tiny ones you use when you go to the dentist! Plastic too) I mean, really! Probably will never return, simply because it’ll be a long time before I ever visit Milwaukee again.

This place is a great bar with good food. It’s attached to Mama’s on Burleigh, which offers top notch pizza and the oh-so popular garlic bread. The bar is actually a night club, sports bar & live music venue wrapped in to one. The manager of the place is Rick and he does a great job of throwing parties, events, and gatherings. This isn’t just a neighborhood bar, it’s a city-wide bar that brings in people from all over the metro area. The music is typically cover bands(80’s — modern) with some occassional original acts. I was there this summer and the service was excellent as always. Plenty of seating, half-moon booths, and 3 different bars to belly-up to. They also have cocktail waitresses floating around so that you don’t have to leave your table to get a drink.

Papa’s is attached to Mama Mia’s on Burleigh, which makes it a convenient spot to get drinks when you’re hungry! There’s plenty of seating at Papa’s to spread out and order a pizza and a pitcher of beer with your friends. One thing I’ve heard about Papa’s a few times has been that Rich goes all out for his events. I’ve stopped in a few times, most recently he went all out for one of his regulars and hosted a 50th Birthday Roast. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy live music, Papa’s has it. If there’s no band playing, there’s plenty of 80’s and early 90’s music to be heard. If you’re planning an event with a bigger guest list, this would be the perfect stop. Unfortunately, it is a little out of the way from downtown Milwaukee, but sometimes it’s good to venture out of the city life to try somewhere new.
