Best wings ever. Friendly service. A couple of people probably caught them on a bad night. I never have had service problems. I been going here for 3 years or so.

Bad service, bad food. We were here for 45 minutes before we finally got our appetizer, food came out right after, my reuban was sitting for awhile waiting for my husband’s broasted chicken, so one side was soggy, no flavor, his chicken must have been cooked in the same thing fish is, the chicken tasted like fish, so gross!!! Our server was not good either, I was a server for 14 years, so I will give any server a chance and benefit of the doubt, but she was not good, friendly, but serving is not for her. Will never come here again, and do not recommend anyone to waste their tim e or money here. We all work hard for our money, spend it at a better restaurant ;)

We had a group of 6 for a company outing. Using a Groupon, we ordered up a pile of burgers and drinks. The order came out short one burger, but was quickly brought out. A nice little corner bar that was very accommodating for us and others. Lots of weekly specials to choose from. If I ever swing through this part of town, I would certainly stop again!

Tried the fish fry tonight… it was Cod, I honestly wasn’t too impressed. Was over cooked but still a good portion size 4 pieces. They piled on way too many fries and they were over cooked and too salty so I barely had any. The piece of rye bread was dry. On the plus side, the coleslaw was to die for… And the clam chowder soup was amazing.

I just love this place. The fish is always good the pancakes are great and the environment is friendly just loud enough but not too loud. It is a very comfortable place to go, the wait staff is excellent. The owners friendly. My current favorite. For fish fry. That is all I have been there for so far.

Service and food here has been hit or miss for awhile. We dropped by this past weekend to watch the game and we’re calling it quits with this place. After asking how much a pitcher of beer was and getting a response, we ordered it and some food. The beer is delivered. After awhile the waitress comes back and tells us that«she spoke with the manager» and the pitcher of beer was actually about twice the cost she told us. Waitress mistake and somehow it became our problem and this is how management /owner treats their customers. They took our pitcher away and made us pay regular glass price on a couple short pours of beer when we refused to pay the new doubled price. We left as soon as we could and went to another bar. At the next bar, when we asked how much a pitcher was and when the waitress didn’t know she checked. Hmmmm, I’m pretty sure this is the way it’s supposed to work.

I moved to the neighborhood over a year ago and had dinner and drinks here and the food was great with great service. I have been here a handful of times and each time that I have recently gone, the food and service are progressively getting worse. Last night our food took over 30 minutes to get to our table when it wasn’t even busy. Our server rarely checked on us and our drinks and water glasses were often empty. At our table we had boneless wings, pizza, fish fry and the buffalo chicken wrap. The wings were good, the fish was okay and the wrap was awful, it was watery! The only thing worth having again was the pizza. We were disappointed how inattentive our server was and the food was just as disappointing. Much better service could easily make my rating a 3 or a 4.

This place was rolling pretty good for a while. Pizza and chicken were always spot on. Same weird mix of patrons but always fun/friendly. However, the last 3 or 4 trips found the food quality to have changed drastically. Inconsistent, to say the least. «Parm Garlic» chicken doused in a creamy and unappetizing goo. «Teryaki» chicken served swimming in it’s own pool of soy sauce. Nacho orders are a mess. Cheese sticks are dense and flavorless. Not sure if the old cook is now ‘off the clock’ or what but things have changed for the worse. Updating to 3 stars based only on the friendly, attentive staff and the always-streaming Brewers and Packers games.

Giving this place three stars breaks my heart. If I wrote this review between August and December of 2014, it would have been 5 stars. We bought a house nearby and thought for sure this would be our neighborhood spot — great drinks, incredible burgers, and friendly staff all bundled in an authentically Milwaukee, charming bar and restaurant. We have been to On the Clock over a dozen times in the past year. The past five times have convinced us that we need a break from our initial crush of a neighborhood restaurant. Here is what happened: — Initial seating: Multiple times we were seated and not a drink order or visit from a server occurred for 15 minutes. Two of those times we brought friends with to whom we raved about the restaurant prior. — The house Bloody Mary mix: You are in a Bloody Mary town. The mix was a good effort, but it was watery, without flavor, and resulted in drinking just tomato-stained vodka. Request they use Jimmy Love’s if you order one. — General service: It has struck me that something shifted in recent months. A couple new servers started and they often seemed rushed, spread thin, or otherwise unaware/disorganized. We had soups forgotten one time; had the soups arrive after our meal did another time, and yet another time had an appetizer no-show completely. Each time the server responded decently — they would have had no idea the issue or error had we not pointed it out or requested assistance. The servers we had seemed overall clueless. One time the server, after hearing our issue with the soups, sighed deeply and audibly and said, «Well, what do you want me to do about it?» I’m all for creative license as a customer, but it wasn’t an appropriate response for a repairable issue. There is so much good here in terms of the burgers, fish fries, the kind and generous owner, and the atmosphere. I hope the recent issues in service can be resolved. We have found it to be hit or miss and hope the On the Clock we initially fell for returns to its charming and attentive self soon.

Out of town looking for an excellent burger. We decided on this place per the Unilocal review. It was everything we expected and more. Excellent service and personable owner. Food was just what we needed, we will be back next time we are in town.

Another visit to one of our local faves! We arrived around 8:00PM on a Friday night. The bar area was full but a couple tables were empty. They were already out of cod for the night! Boooooo!!! Friday night in Milwaukee and out of fish? Good sign or bad? Will have to come earlier to try it out. We started with the lobster mac and cheese. Soooo disappointing. $ 15 and definitely not worth it. Not that it was bad taste wise, but where was the lobster? 5 pieces, maybe. Then the best part… BLT pizza. Have had their pizza before and always love it but this was awesome!!! Thin, crispy crust and the bacon was delicious. Perfect amount of toppings. Love this place and the service. Can’t love all the food right?!

Stopped in for a few beers and appetizers with friends. The bartender was awesome! Really friendly, attentive and was part of the conversation. Tried a smörgåsbord of food. French onion soup(was awesome) 2 flavor of wings, artichoke dip, a giant salad. All was really, really good. The artichoke dip was a little salty, but I am also a little sensitive to salt, the rest of my group loved it. They were busy, which is always a good sign. Can’t wait to go back and try some more food(have heard more than once that their fish fry is great!)

There is so much room for improvement here when it comes to the food. The staff, great. Ease of calling ahead to say a group was coming in, easy breezy. The atmosphere inside, very nice. The one problem with the inside of the place(aside from the food) was that it was freezing cold in February. We asked to have the fireplace turned on(thinking it was electric and would radiate heat) and so the worker, maybe owner turned it on. Ah… just for show folks. Keep on freezing! The food… where to start. I really want to write a better review but having a few decent food items is not freaking hard to do. Out of the norm, I was in the mood for a burger. I liked all of the options and the gluten free options and drink specials, etc. So, when I saw a turkey burger available, I got a little excited as I haven’t had one in a long time. I made the error of forgetting to ask before ordering if the burgers(beef or turkey) were made fresh(and though I saw something to that affect in the menu??). Anyways, I forgot. This is why I ask things before I order. People call it complicated. This is an example of not wanting to put over-priced and gross food in my body and I have every single right to ask several questions! The turkey burger was a frozen patty. Terrible. The frozen patty processed burger had numerous inedible flakes/pieces in it that I had to keep picking out of my mouth. Some had a paper consistency, others a grizzle consistency. #regret I just don’t understand why it would be difficult to season and shape into a patty fresh ground turkey patties, put them in the freezer and them cook them on the grill to order. Estimate how many you’d need in a week. If you run out, that is the chance you take for offering good, fresh food!!! 1,000 times worth it. A member of our group ordered the boneless wings. It’s a really bad sign when a server delivers them to your table with the verbal caveat«let me know if these will work or not» kind of comment. Dear God, never ever deliver food to a customer if you have the slightest sense that it’s not up to par. Why? Instead of 6 wings there were 5 and the comment that I was given was that they were hockey puck hard and inedible. Other guests in our party had the bone-in wings and beef patty burger. No one was excited about what they were served and I felt that I let them down for suggesting the place. I’d come for drinks or maybe cheese sticks. The place is cute. But why why why serve bad food? 3 stars for friendly customer service, ease of getting them to reserve a table, nice look and feeling inside and drink specials.($ 5 mimosa served in a pint glass w ice, $ 5 bloody — didn’t try) –2 stars for no one liking their food, and as a matter of fact a few of us having to make constructive criticisms and send the food back and uncomfortably cold inside. Please up the standards. It’s a nice place.

Robert’s, Off the Clock and now On the Clock… we have been to all renditions of this place. I would give On the Clock 2.5 stars but I rounded up to 3 to be generous. There is a lack of consistency which varies the the stars on each visit from a low of one to a high of four stars. On the Clock has a very limited menu which is a good thing because Off the Clock’s menu hampered the kitchen which resulted in inconsistent food quality. On the Clock recently has been suffering from the same malady with even a smaller menu. Let’s start with what they do well… wings! Wing Wednesday is great for their $.50 wings. However, depending on the cook the spicy garlic could be crazy hot or medium. The wings are probably one of the most consistent items on the menu. I used to love their fish fry. The last two times we went the fish fry was not very good. The baked cod was overcooked and dry. The perch was also dry and fishy. I don’t know if I will risk the fish fry again… my stomach can’t handle another disappointment. The mac and cheese isn’t a bad option because let’s just admit that this is hard to mess up. Personally I like the plain version without the potato chips on top. The other versions are a little overkill with the toppings. I wish I could give this place better ratings but the inconsistency has just killed it for me. Service is also spotty and can be amazing or horrible. If you want to go here do yourself a favor and get a gift certificate that will save you money.

good: food(both good and bad) wife loved her fish fry, setting, weekly changing menu Bad: food, my burger came out over cooked(tasted good), once more than 3 tables sat server we had got flustered and forgot about us. understaffed for a fish fry Friday night. Standard: price for a bar overall: Okay, i have been there twice now, both times burger did not get cooked to the way i asked(med), wife loved her fish fry. server was very good to start seeing as we were the only ones in her section, but after a few people sat we were pushed to the side and not really cared about. could have also explained that when i asked for a side of mac n cheese, that it was going to cost less then a dollar for my main meal. kinda disappointed there, she was friendly. food came out in a timely manner. not sure if ill go back to eat or not. can’t recommend for food. drink was okay priced.

Some friends and I stopped out to grab some dinner and drinks here the other evening. First, the good. It’s a nice looking place. I really do like the woodwork and all the windows. The bar is nice enough. Also, the menu has some intriguing items on it. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip with pita and it was great. Now, onto the not so good. I was weighing my options about what I wanted to eat and it came down to .50 cent wings or the special mac and cheese with chicken and bacon. Being a wing nut I ordered the wings. I ordered them in medium since when I try new wings somewhere medium tends to be the passable sweet spot. The food took around an hour to come out(wings for a few of us and a burger) which struck me as exceptionally long since it wasn’t packed. My wings were meh. The medium had no spice to it. The topper was the wings weren’t really even hot as if they had been sitting. I forget which flavor my friends have but I think one was bbq which was fine and the other was something garlic which the wings were like mine, kind of meh. Service seemed like they were overwhelmed at times. A couple of our party sat with empty beers waiting for the waitstaff to swing on by again. I’d like to give this place an extra star for the good bartender but I’m afraid I just can’t. I’ll likely give the place another shot at some point but it may be a while. I want to try that mac n cheese.

On a spur of the moment stop, we ate here for the first time and will make it a point to keep this place in mind whenever I’m near the airport. They’ve got a very local crowd inside of their spacious and well-lit restaurant, and it’s got a decent sports bar vibe. I’m curious how full they are when either the Brewers or Packers are playing. I wasn’t paying close enough attention to the bar to see how the TV’s were laid out, but I’ll be stopping back to see. The wings were pretty decent, with the sriracha honey being my favorite. I had a great burger special with a fried egg, avocado, cheese and bacon. While it’s not as good as a Christie’s burger, it was still well-made and cooked to medium like I’d asked. The fries(for those of us who are picky) were pretty good too. The beer selection is pretty standard Wisconsin, with Lite, High Life, Spotted Cow, Stella and a couple others. Drinks weren’t weak, and the pricing was very kind. I think we had 3 pitchers, assorted cocktails, a couple sandwiches and a bunch of wings for $ 80. Not bad for 8 of us. I’ll be stopping back for one of their burgers specifically, which subs the bun for the meat between two grill cheese sandwiches. And more peanuts. There’s something nice about sitting outside with a beer on a nice day and tossing peanut shells…
