Dress me up! Surprisingly, Olive has a great selection of clothes for guys. I’m overly particular in my brands. They have a huge selection of Horny Toad, Prana, Nau and Ibex items — far more than anyone else in town. I am really happy to see that they carry HT here, Laacke and Joys just stopped carrying it and it’ll be convenient to stop here vs other retailers. I did glance at some of the other items like bedding and was impressed by the quality.

We purchased an organic mattress from here a couple of months ago and LOVE it. The store manager, Dave, was really helpful. He definately knows his stuff when it comes to organic mattresses. He even pulled a toy from the shelves for our toddler son to play with while we tried out the different mattresses. We also had them deliver and set up our bed. Our bed frame(purchased elsewhere) was delayed and they were fantastic and held the mattress for us for an extra week while we waited for the frame. Once it arrived, they came by within a day, set up the mattress and took away all the empty boxes. They treated us well!

Walked in here just to poke around, and… ugh. It’s bad enough that everything is absurdly overpriced, but I find the styles of clothing truly hideous. Who wants a frumpy peasant dress with ruffled layers in *newsprint* pattern on the skirt? Or maybe I’m just not hipster enough to think it’s cool. Either way, I won’t be back in there again.

So glad this spot decided to make the move to the East Side from Mequon. Urbanites:1, Suburbanities: 0 This store is pretty freaking great. Everything in here — men’s and women’s fashions, shoes, accessories, baby clothes, bedding, jewelry, items for personal care — is eco-friendly. Everything. Here’s the thing. THESTUFFISREALLYCUTE.(albeit, expensive) But eco-conscious fashion that’s actually pretty awesome doesn’t come cheap, my friends. No no, it doesn’t. And while that’s unfortunate, it’s the doggone truth. Anyways… the shoes. I was astounded by how cute their selection was and how large. Also, did I mention cute?(& sustainably forged?) This is a great boutique-y kind of store that will make for an excellent addition to the ever-evolving Downer Ave area. I’m a fan, and will be back to spend more money than I probably should.
