I was recently introduced to Milwaukee Candle and Apothecary at the Tosa Farmers Market, but they’ve been around since 2013. The product offering is a compilation of things I love: handmade candles, soaps, natural body products and lip balms. Everything is handmade in a small space on the West side(no retail location just yet, but products are available at Hot Pop, Homestead and Orange galleries). The owner uses all natural ingredients, most items are vegan and everything is cruelty-free. That’s important. Packaging is lovely — I especially like the vintage inspired labels. I snapped up some candles today — lavender mint, lemongrass and a heavenly orange rosemary. I was tempted by the Pomander and Four Thieves scents which are uniquely spicy — next time for sure. The Mister scored some beard oil — there’s also aftershave and shaving soap for the gents. Finally, if you don’t happen to catch MCA at a local show or gallery you can order online and pick things up at the studio space. It’s super close to home for me, so I see myself being a frequent customer!
