Ive been going here for years and I really enjoy getting in a good lift. The weight room is pretty well maintained and has undergone multiple renovations since my freshman year which includes new equipment, new paint, new lockers, etc. From time to time(usually after vacations and especially after New Years) it get jam packed full of people but you can avoid this by going earlier(before 4) or later(after 8pm) in the day. I’ve met alot of good friends in the weight room and most people are friendly there. There are tennis courts(which I think cost a fee — ive never used them), two racquetball courts, 5 basketball courts/volleyball courts, outdoor volleyball, cycling rooms/elliptical/treadmill rooms, and one swimming pool near the entrance. I mainly workout here and occasionally venture to the rec plex if I have time. For me there are no other weight rooms on par with our rec(untill I visit other universities of course). I only wish that the center stayed open later than 10pm and had a bathroom on the same floor as the weight room.

For a university gym I think this complex does a defend job in giving a good variety of both activities and work out equipment to satisfy the standard needs of any college student. The only complaint is that it can get relatively crowded and the place can have limited room for a larger number of people, Although I respect the fact that it is MU and the location limited what you can do to a place

The fact that you can swim in the middle of the Polar Vortex Winter makes me sooooo happy! My boyfriend, his brother and myself went to an afternoon devoted to swimming… and we spent about 2 hours in the pool. It was so balmy in their if I closed my eyes I could almost imagine I was somewhere tropical. They also have a sauna/hot room, and it felt amazing to step inside after swimming hard and just let the heat permeate your body. In order to gain entrance you have to either be with an alum who has a membership or a student. I haven’t been to the gym part, but I heard it’s really nice!(I’ll update this review when I visit more than just the aquatics area!)

Excellent recreational sports facility! Tennis, racquetball, swimming, spinning, volleyball, fitness room, saunas, etc. Regarding tennis, you just need an MU alum. to reserve courts and the fees are reasonable. Nice, high ceiling and good lighting.
