This place is OK but nothing more. It doesn’t specialize in whiskey or anything, it’s just the 1,045th dive bar in Milwaukee. I was a bit put off by the remark from one of the staff upon playing songs in the jukebox that they were going to have a DJ spin a set soon, so cool it on the tunes… a DJ set which never materialized in the hour-plus which was to follow. They also seemed to be partially having a private party or something with food laid out and no clear indication of what was going on. The bartenders were fairly indifferent to our presence. Probably not recommended unless you’re a regular.

I’ve always wondered about this little joint. I need not wonder any more. I stopped in for a beer on a Friday night after work. The Little Whiskey Bar could do without the word«Whiskey» in the bar’s name: it’s really just a Little Bar. Four walls, a few tables and a bar. There’s nothing special about the Little Whiskey, but they do have a pleasant and engaging bartender and a few macro beers on draught. Locally, however, they have Milwaukee Brewing Company’s Louie’s Demise on tap. So that’s nice. They’ve got a few nice TVs over the bar too, so if you’d like to have a drink and watch the game, the Little Whiskey Bar may just be the place for you.
