Margaritas have Tajin on the rim!!! And it is AMAZING!!! Okay — the two times we have been here we have been greeted and seated right away. We have received chips and salsa right away. Both times, our server has been awesome and attentive. Our food has been delicious both times and enough for us to ask for a to-go box. It is reasonably priced. Overall, a great experience both time I have been here. They do have all-you-can-east crab legs on particular evenings but I come for the Mexican fare. I recommend if you are in the area and plan on returing!

Got food for take our waitress was very rude would not even look at me when taking my order. She acted like I was a bother being in the restaurant. Ordered my food and waited for it was not even asked if I wanted a water or anything. After 20 min food was done. Got it home. The meat on the tacos was dry and nasty. Tacos that I was charged $ 2.50 each for that had 5 small pieces of meat and a pinch of cilantro. The taco salad that was supposed to have dressing on it had none but it was full of tomatoes and onions that I had asked it to not have. The Nachos were also full of tomatoes and onions that I asked for it to not have also. The only thing that was ok in flavor was the seafood soup. Will never come back to this restaurant again and I live 3 min walking distance from it. Horrible restaurant and way to high priced for the quality of food.

This was the first time I have ever been to Las Palmas. The food was good! They had the best Crab Legs ever! The pico de Gallo was super tasty! Our food was brought to us right away. The server was very sweet and was always checking up on our table. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the smell of the restaurant it smelled like pee/bathroom. But besides that it was a good restaurant!

It’s not really five stars, but it definitely doesn’t deserve the poor rating it has. So I’m balancing out the others. The enchiladas are particularly good, I’ll come back for them. The fresh corn tortillas tasted more like the masa for tamales then the typical flavorless tortilla you usually get. The guacamole is bland, but the pico de gallo is fresh and spicy and we added it and some salsa to the guac.

Not a bad deal for lunch meal — and it was not bad food. It just was not outstanding. I would have to agree with others who said the food is okay.

Decided to try them. Was two of 4 people in the restaurant. Service was terrible. Slow. The food did come out fast though. Old rice and beans. Salsa was subpar. The meat in my chimichanga was def old. Horchata was really good. Never was asked if I wanted refill. I have had better Mexican food and will seek other places next time I want Mexican food.

I have been coming here for years for the All You Can Eat Crab Legs. Years ago it used to be 19.99, however crab prices of course have gone up. I always call around and Las Palmas always is within $ 2 of everywhere else that serves the AUCEC. We always get a group of friends together for Crab Leg nights. This place has excellent customer service for a large group of people. They even split the check up for us, which is a huge help. They always keep the crab coming and you get a side as well.

The food is okay. I have had better mexican food but I mostly went here for the crab legs but now I cannot justify spending $ 40 for all you can eat when it used to be $ 25 a few years ago. The crab legs are good, but not THAT good. For $ 40 I can get crab legs and sides elsewhere and be perfectly satiated. Sad that this place is now just a money pit. Save your cash and go somewhere else for similar or better quality crab legs for less.

Crab legs are not bad but the soup and salad are not all you can eat. Very strange that they would rather that you order more crab legs. They get takeout orders wrong. As a bonus, instead of spending $ 10 on sidewalk salt, my wife slipped on a solid sheet of ice on the front stair. She had her knee replaced because they’re not concerned about their customer’s well-being! True story!

We thought we would take my mom out for one of her favorite dinners, and this restaurant’s specialties(supposedly), but it turned out to be terrible! Aside from the fruit flies and some kind of moths flying around, the food was extremely disappointing! The waitress asked if we wanted drinks and when a few of us asked for a «diet» soda, she said they don’t have diet(???) We ordered only one AYCE crab for my mom because the price was $ 40.00…which was a little high but we agreed since Mom was looking forward to it. When it finally got there it was bland tasting, my mom asked me to try a piece so I did… the waitress came to the table and told me I cannot«share» which I understand, but she was RUDE about it even after I explained I was just tasting it. She continued to insist I cannot«share»…rude! About 10 min later the waitress came back to the table with another bucket of crab legs and took the half full bucket away… which was ok I guess but Mom was still eating and they were still warm. Mom didn’t care for the taste of the crab, said they tasted«funny» and didn’t want to keep eating. I believe she actually ate just 3 crab legs and her salad. When we got the bill it was $ 90…for nachos, a chicken burrito, grilled chicken sandwich(which was supposed to come with rice and beans but came with french fries we didn’t order) when we told the person at the register, she said«Oh well, you pay» She said they would not take any $$ off the bill. So we paid, did not leave a tip for the rude service, fruit flies/moths, and our $ 7.00 sodas($ 21 for 3 sodas???) Expensive lesson, but we will NEVER be back and word of mouth isn’t always the best advertising in this case.

Went there for dinner tonight, my man had the chicken flautas and he loved them, very tasty. I had chicken tamales; they were delicious, well seasoned, a nice balance between chicken filling and the corn masa. I had the house margarita and it was quite tasty. Our service was excellent; friendly and responsive. The chips and salsa were fresh and yummy.

The salsa was watery and bland which is what I look forward to most when going to a Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is not pretty except for the floors – the rest could be easily fixed with repainting and redecorating, but no one has fixed it up in awhile. The meals(tamales and huevos rancheros) were decent, no better than average. The waitstaff was friendly. Would not return.

Bad food that might be Mexican… Service: I’ve been here three times. The last being July and the service seems to be bad even when there are only 4 people in the restaurant or really good if you sit by the bar. If you come here sit in the room where the bar is located. We sat there and got drink, salsa and chips refills compared to siting in the dining area where you will never see the waitress after you get your food. Food: standard ships and salsa nothing special. I’ve eaten enchiladas and skirt steak and it is ok. The food is not seasoned well. The beans and rice don’t taste fresh. Seems like they make a huge batch of them to last the week. The last time Me and the wife ordered the combo fajitas. HUGEMISTAKE! I wanted to get the crab bucket and regret not getting it. This was the first time I ever got fajitas that were sweet and had what tasted like teriyaki sauce on them. I couldn’t eat them! I picked out the shrimp and the rest I left. It was soaking in the sweet sauce and I couldn’t eat it. We told our waiter and were told it was how they were made. I understand a Mexican restaurant wanting to cater to the gringos but come on this is not Mexican what so ever. I did notice the people who ordered the crab leg bucket seemed to be satisfied. Drinks: We ordered margaritas and they were not good. Just premixed and very weak. I recommend getting the corona bucket as the margaritas are not fresh. Atmosphere: sitting in the dinning area and sitting in the bar area is like night and day. The dinning area has tacky décor. I wouldn’t consider it Mexican. It is also dingy. The bar area is very nice and well cleaned. There is live music by the bar which is a plus. I would not come here to eat anything but the crab legs and have a couple beers while listening to live music. I’ll post another review when I come here and let you know how the crab legs are!

Wish I would’ve done my research before eating here. My steak tacos were dry and lacked flavor. My mom chicken enchiladas were very bland. Wait staff was barely at out table to check on food, drinks, ect. Ask to turn air down because it was being blasted right above out table and our request for that but a new table was denied. Overall the place looks cool food is sub par so far. I’m not sure if I’m willing to pay$ 36 to try their all you can eat crab legs. They will get another shot solely for the crab legs.

I used to eat at this place after bar-close pretty often, around 2005 or so. Back then, I used to get the crab meat enchiladas and a Miller High Life bottle. I loved this place so much back then, but now… I can’t decide if I liked that place so much because of the fact that they were open late and always served alcohol, or of their huge portions of food made two meals easily — even though the quality was poor. Then, sometime around 2008, they had new management. I hadn’t been there in a while but happened to be nearby, so it was the first place I wanted to eat. It turns out that the place had basically reduced the quality of their food/drinks and reduced portion sizes, and just changed the name. I went there again in 2010, and same results… food was average, service was poor, and margaritas were crap. I used to recommend this place, but not anymore.

One of my fav Mexican restaurants since I’ve moved back to Milwaukee. It’s not a franchise type restaurant, no high-end interior decorating, not that it’s shabby, just that it reminds me of an affordable décor. .. turning a corner urban building into a Mexican restaurant. An interesting neon abstract running across the ceiling that I like. Salsa was good. Normally in Mex restaurants in Milwaukee I have to ask for something more spicy(hot). Could be hotter but this was fine for me. Margaritas were good. I had enchilada dinner, my gal had the chili rellenos. Both were excellent. Chicken in my enchilada was tender and tasty, the cheese so stringy(love that) I constantly had to pinch it off to get it in my mouth. Beans and rice good. Tasting my partners pork was just ok for me. I think I just like chicken better. Price, I don’t know. 3 margaritas, rellenos & enchiladas $ 37.16. Guess the ‘rita’s came in around $ 17.00. Oh well, I enjoyed the meal.

All I can say is WOW! I was shocked when I received the bill for the all you can eat crab legs! $ 39.95 per person and they were NOT worth it. At first, I thought the waiter had overcharged us. Amazing how the price for the crab legs are not on the menu and are not listed anywhere in the restaurant. I now understand why the place was a ghost town when we were there. Not like the old days when Mr. Miyagi owned it. Very disappointed!!!

The service here is great. They are always attentive, and will seat you as soon as they something opens up. The Mexican food is good, it’s The usual fare you’d expect to find. The all you can eat crab legs are great, although at $ 52.00, it’s kind of expensive.

I recently purchased Snow Crab legs at a local grocery store for $ 12.99 per pound. Three medium sized clusters was roughly $ 27. I had to steam them, chop garlic for butter to dip them into, eat them and then CLEANUP, plus take down the garbage so the house didn’t smell like a crab cannery. Las Palmas offers SIX crab clusters, one side and dipping butter for around $ 30. Although an initial reaction may be «whoa, that’s expensive» it’s really not when you figure the cost of preparing at home and NO clean up. My girlfriend and I shared the $ 30 crab meal and were sufficiently full. Chips and(onion heavy) salsa were served before the meal. (Note: The All-U-Can-Eat Crab meal is now around $ 37 and can NOT be shared with anyone or you’ll be charged two meals.) SYSCO: There’s nothing wrong with Sysco products but when I payed I saw a flyer on the counter from Sysco stating that«Crab prices will be increasing». One can assume Las Palmas uses Sysco as their crab legs supplier. ENDHITS: Bright and colorful décor. Fast and friendly service. Beef tongue and beef head tacos are on the menu. MYSPACE: has a «Visit us on Myspace» link. This dates the website to about 2005. — Tom
