I was looking forward to a wonderful massage and was left a bit disappointed. I asked for additional pressure within the 1st few minutes, which was adapted for about 1 min then back to light pressure. Stone massage was different than ones I’ve had in the past. Masseuse spent more time with the rocks in the Nesco then on my back. Transitions with rocks were very loud and disruptive to the serene environment. I get massages fairly regularly– This is the 1st time I’ve ever walked out of a massage wondering if it had any effect on my mind or body.

If you have sensitive skin, and are into natural skin care products, I strongly recommend their facial by Erin! I was in need of a facial before my vacation but all the places In downtown were fully booked for appointments after 5pm. To be honest, Knick salon was my last choice because there were a lot of 4.5 star places that I could walk to from the hotel I was staying at. Also the photos of this place uploaded on Unilocal didn’t give an impression that this place would be somewhere I would feel pampered. I was wrong. And the photos on Unilocal are not really a good representation of this place. I think the use of flash makes their photos look old. This place was much cuter than I thought with a separate facial room which is very relaxing with dark lights. I’m giving this place 5 stars because Erin gave the best facial I’ve ever had. I have oily, acne prone and sensitive skin which is very tricky when it comes to skin care. Her facial was very gentle yet effective and wasn’t invasive like other facials I’ve had in the past that somewhat left my skin feel a little more sensitive than before. She taught me so much about my skin, as well as sensitive skin care in general. She told me she has sensitive skin herself and I really felt like she was treating my skin as if it was hers. She also performed the least painful extractions I’ve ever had! Really wish I could go back to Milwaukee and get Erin’s facial now. The front desk lady here was also very friendly yet professional. Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I were celebrating our 2nd anniversary, made a couples massage appt here. Services were great, great atmosphere, he had never had a massage and loved it. Massage was amazing, relaxing and peaceful. Felt rejuvenated and relaxed when we left, we will definitely be back!!! HIGHLY recommend the Knick!

The Knick is a solid place for a cut, shampoo, and genuine«pampering» — even for the dudes. I stopped in on a whim after receiving a special coupon for a reduced price shampoo and style and left impressed. In fact, I waited several months to write the review because I returned twice more for a cut! Staff is welcoming and friendly. The shampooing portion made my visit — perhaps because I scheduled cuts during the most busy and stressful time of my work year! All-organic hair products and again, great service. Ask for Deanna; she is friendly, talkative, and takes care to be sure she is meeting your grooming needs. Full disclosure: admittedly I have returned to my previous barber because my wallet was feeling the hit($ 36 after tip compared to my usual $ 18 cut) after several appointments. That said, I would DEFINITELY return to Knick if my budget opens up a bit. Deanna and the rest of the staff are fantastic, provide great grooming services and an overall stellar experience.

I treat myself to a day spa for my birthday every year so came across this location and decided to give it a try. Had an hour massage, a facial and a manicure scheduled for the day. The massage lady gave me too much pressure, even told her she could lighten it up but my opinion didn’t seem to matter. The facial lady was great and good personality! The lady doing my manicure was«different». Sure, nice lady but she then tells me the salon is haunted and people have experienced weird things in the back room and that the hotel is a very old place… O_O alrighty then!

I was introduced to this salon 3 yrs ago, by a friend who knew I was looking for a great colorist. I wanted something a bit unique & funky: plum color w/a purple strip. She was right, as Theresa M. is THE Colorist Queen. Not only was she great @ her art, but she was personable & easy going. I HIGHLY recommend Theresa M. I cannot praise her enough! Now, as most gals know, it’s VERY hard to find a great hair stylist. Just to get a hair cut, we are in the salon for at the very least, an hr. I have long hair & have been donning long hair since I was 16. I’m in my mid-40’s & have been getting my hair done since my first babysitting gig when I could pay for it myself. I know other gals can relate to this. Going to the salon is a ritual & to finally find the right colorist is like the Heaven’s opened up & the Hallelujah choir is playing! Being in my mid-40’s, I have been to salons from LA to NYC. I even did a stint of modeling in the 80’s so I KNOW attitudes. With that all being said… if you want to go to a salon that charges $ 200 + tip for a hair cut & color by a great colorist BUT the owner doesn’t know what she’s doing & some stylists have rotten attitudes, then this is the place for you! Every single time I’ve been there, I have had to contend w/ill manners, lack of common courtesy & zero C.S. skills. I have actually brought 2 friends there, on 2 occasions to treat them for a hair cut and/or color. So The Knick Salon has been given a plethora of opportunities & cash flow from me. With having an unique color done, I figured a call to my colorist ahead of time is quite appropriate as she has to get that color in, in order to do my hair. On several occasions, I have tried that by requesting to either speak w/her or have her call me back & every single time it was like dealing w/the Spanish Inquisition & the Mexican Firing Squad. One time, Kira Kleynerman(OWNER) actually told me she does NOT encourage her gals to have a rapport w/their clients. I’m not kidding! I was outraged. I asked her, «WHY would you do such a thing?! Having a great rapport w/our hair stylists is THE biggest reason why we CHOOSE them as doing hair is a very intimate experience! You need to rethink this as part of your business platform!» Yet, I gave them several more chances after that. With the horrible winter we just had, I let my hair go. For 7 mos. I know. A hair dresser’s worst nightmare! I couldn’t take it anymore so I called to get in. I was told Theresa was out on maternity leave. I asked, «Who has been assigned to cover her clients?» They said, «Oh anyone here can do hair.» I should have known w/an answer like that. When you go to an upscale salon & your colorist is out on leave & they haven’t assigned their clients to specific stylists, RUN. That is a big red flag that the salon doesn’t know what they are doing. But apparently, I am a glutton for punishment. I asked the receptionist«Will they be able to access Theresa’s notes on my hair color so they can do it correctly?» I was assured that they would. On 3÷11÷14, I went there to have Deanna L. do my hair. Everything went great until I sat down in the chair. She asked, «What do you want done today?» My reply, «I need a hair cut & color per the notes Theresa has on my hair.» She looked @ me w/a blank stare. Now, mind you, every single time I’ve gone here there has been SOMETHING w/this place so I was @ a breaking point. I got snippy & told her, «I was assured that you could handle this & would access Theresa’s notes on how to mix the hair color. Can you do it or not?» She got an attitude, stomped her foot & huffed off to the front desk. I counted to 10 to calm down because I was thinking to myself, «I am going to be here, in this chair, with this gal for 3 hrs do I want to spend that kind of time w/her? Is she going to do my hair correctly? Do I even want to come back here any more? WHY don’t they handle a leave better than this?!? Wait a second here this is an upscale salon! I’m about to drop $ 200 plus tip — Cost Cutters are nicer to their clients than this place! 3 yrs Oh no. I’ve had enough.» I got up, went to the front desk & asked the owner, «Why does that gal have an attitude? Aren’t they accessing Theresa’s notes to take care of her clients?» Needless to say, I got my hair done that day. The purple strip in my hair was started by my ear(where the new hair growth ended) &NOT the top of my hairline. When I asked her how come she didn’t bleach it before coloring(it had 7 mos of new growth) she told me it didn’t need it. I waited until Theresa was back from leave & called today. The receptionist refused my polite, «Please have her call me.» & fired off an attitude. Seriously? Can’t a client call & congratulate her on her new baby? $ 200 wasted. 4 hrs reading Unilocal reviews for a new salon. My call not returned. 3 yrs of patronage never appreciated. I only stayed for Theresa the Colorist Queen. GOSOMEWHEREELSE.

I am a low-maintenance gal who prefers to use natural products and has budget limitations(I don’t skimp on tips, so the service cost has to be at a moderate price point). It’s truly hard to find a place that not only hits all the points on my wish list, but also is a short walk from my apartment. This afternoon, after reviewing the quality Unilocal the Knick Salon & Spa has received, I thought it would be worth checking out for a brow-wax. The Knick was able to accommodate my need for a same-day appointment and the desk staff was welcoming. Rhiannon was very friendly, knowledgeable, and did a five-star job taming my wayward eyebrows. I’m sure I’ll be seeing her again in the future.

Angela was great, almost like family. I went in with a picture of what I was thinking. I left with some better and my modern than the picture I walked in with. It was a drastic change and I received many compliments! Going back soon to get my roots touched up, glad I found my new salon!

Went here for an hour couples massage, that was not inexpensive — $ 150 + tip for two people. The atmosphere was nice enough, the massage was relaxing, but not really«deep tissue» which I thought we specifically asked for, and why we were expected to pay more than the traditional massage. My husband had a towel placed over his eyes at one point, when we were facing up, and I would have liked to have that as well, but was not offered that. Additionally, my massage therapist, while very nice, forgot to massage my entire right arm. I would consider getting a massage there again, but would maybe try to be more vocal during the experience. They do offer water, tea, coffee and wine before and after your massage, and possibly for other services.

NOT the Keratin treatment I was promised! I had Keratin treatment for $ 250. Pricey, right? But the stylist guaranteed, over and over, that it will last at least 4 months. She told me this is not the usual Keratin — it’s something alternative and all natural, AFTER treatment was completed. I thought, hey, since my regular Keratin treatments were $ 250 — this must be the same. Big mistake. Two months have not gone by — and my hair was back to its normal, as if I had no treatment done at all. For $ 250 it should’ve lasted at least 12 weeks — my regular Keratin treatments lasted 5 months at least. I should’ve asked what kind of treatment this is, with ingredients, and did research before plopping $ 250 for nothing.

As the others said: The staff is VERY nice and friendly. Services: Spa Mani /Pedi: They were both nice, but not exceptional, and not worth the extra money over the«asian» nail places. Service was equal to them, but still good, just not worth the extra. Highlights, haircut, shampoo, etc…: Cut was good. Shampoo/Condition used a hot towel treatment at end — but left me too long that my hot towel got cold and I got really cold because of it. The highlights are a complete disaster. I look ridiculous. This is not my first set of highlights, I regularly get highlights. My old stylist moved so I am in the market trying to find new one. This will not be the place. I went in with dark blond hair with some old highlights & came out with … when my hair’s down the front & sides look completely white blond(not highlighted) & the back has NO highlights at all; totally 2 toned hair from white blond to dark blond in back. When I put my hair up, I have a white blond«skunk» mark down the top of my head and the dark blond on the sides. I look aweful. I literally got laughed at because of how aweful this looks. Now I need to go figure out a way to un-do this, and pay more money to fix this — somewhere else.

Sorry Knick my services were great(message/manicure) but the customer service SUCKED! First off I have to say my partner had a completely different experience then me… a great one, as she said. However this is my review ;) Let me explain, if I’m shelling out for a day of pampering on myself and my partner I expect to be pampered through the whole experience, not just what I paid for! So with that said we were greeted when we first got there which was nice but my partner was offered water/coffee/tea while I was offered none, ok I can let it slide, I wasn’t even thirsty. Secondly when trying to pay for the day the gentlemen helping me decided to stop processing my bill to chat up potential customers who had walked in after he was ringing me up! That is completely unacceptable in my book, I threw up my hands and commented«I guess I’ll pay some other time,» and walked off and low and behold while I was getting my message, my partner got a complimentary glass of wine! ugh! Never will I be returning!

So totally NOT the best pedicure I’ve gotten. I came with a bridal shower last weekend. I was not in the wedding, but I was a friend of the bride and she invited me to come with them and get my nails done! It was nice as for a spa day with the bridal party went. When it was all over the one woman taking care of the bride was totally helpful telling the bride she would clean uP and not to worry about anything! As for the actual nail part, eh. First my friend who was in the wedding was getting a pedicure and she was not haPpy at all with her nail. She felt skimped for how much it cost. So I was hanging out with the girls and I’m appoint was at 3:30 but no one came and got me. I was patient thinking they r running behind with all these bridesmaids. 4:30 rolls around and I go tO the front to tell them il Prepay so I can just leave afterwards. She was like who are you and she couldn’t find me in the system. I guess I was booked under my name but not under the bridal party. The bride called and made the appointment for me and told me she told them to put me with the party. So finally I was taken care of, I wasn’t too happy with the overall job done on my nails for what I paid. I’ve gotten better jobs done at those nail salons where I pay 2530 bucks! Overall not worth it for me, but very nice staff.

Nice experience, especially for the money. Got an hour and a half session to work out the kinks of being on a plane for 12 hours the previous day and came away feeling so much better and more relaxed – just the way I wanted to start my vacation. Heather started off with just about the right amount of pressure and dialed it right in based on my feedback. Would definitely come back if I lived in the area(and will likely come back next time I’m in town).

I had a lovely and relaxing morning at The Knick — massage and a facial. I had a 45 minute massage first, which was so amazingly soothing. I had been having some neck and shoulder problems over the past few days, and the masseuse really helped work that out. She had very strong hands, which was great(I hate a weak massage), but gave me regular check-ins to make sure the pressure was OK. It was! Oh, but the best is yet to come — during my massage she wrapped my feet up in hot towels. Dear god, is this what heaven is like? I might have to start going to church again. After my massage, she gave me a robe to put on and some water to drink to help flush out my toxins. Then, on to the facial. I was so relaxed I could barely walk to the next room. But I made it, and got just the 30-minute express. This included several exfoliation steps, steaming with hot towels, antioxidant toner, a mask, and a final moisturizing step. She(different woman than the masseuse) also gave me an arm/shoulder/neck massage while the mask was setting. I just wanted to curl up there for a nap. I felt so wonderful. And all for under $ 100 before tip! I wish I could find a place like this in Vegas where I live! It’s hard to find that level of service for that low of a price.
