Howard Johnson Inn & Suites

We booked this with an online vendor other than the Howard Johnson called Easy To Book which was where the problem started.
Easy to Book confirmed our reservation 3 days before our stay but when we arrived at the hotel at Midnight we were told that our reservation never came through and were sent away because the hotel was full (the State Fair was going on and every hotel in the area was full). The employee who «helped» us showed no responsibility, remorse or empathy as we were stranded with no hotel late at night. He shrugged and said that «sometimes they have problems with that website.» In my experience if they are affiliated with the website they need to correct the process or offer some type of compensation. I realize if they have no empty rooms they can’t offer that but they could have taken the opportunity to call another local hotel for us because of the trouble. Because of the poor customer service I will never return to this hotel and not recommend that anyone else stay there.
