Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum

Maybe it is me, but checking into a cemetery seems a bit creepy. I usually would not call a cemetery beautiful, however, Holy Cross Cemetery definitely is, because this cemetery is very well maintained, speaking of which, during my visit there were guys outside cutting the grass and trimming around the tombstones. My uncle and his wife, who are both catholic are buried here and I visit them once a year and every year that I visit this place is always kept in immaculate shape.
My father who changed religions in order to marry my mother, could not be buried here, so he is across the street and I can assure you that Lincoln Memorial Cemetery is just an awful place to be buried, I really wish he would have been put to rest here at Holy Cross. Visiting a cemetery is bad enough, so it is nice to know that your loved ones are at a place that is well managed and that the owners have respect for those who are buried there, as well as their loved ones.

I visited Holy Cross back in March of 2010 and somehow neglected to write a review. Regardless, the cemetery has a profusion of beautiful statuary and I spent quite awhile there. It was very peaceful & pretty, and I had it almost all to myself on a weekday afternoon.

Interesting place–
Just make sure you don’t leave valuables in your car– they have had issues with break ins… I hope they will be looking into camera’s or security guards.
