Gene’s Lanes & Lounge

I recently visited this place for a friend of mines party & I parked in their small but busy parking lot. Since I am in a chair I tried to park in their 2 handicap spots available but they were both taken but was able to find another a few spots down. I wheeled my chair to the front door but there was a curb to get up & another step to get into the building so I wasn’t sure how i was going to get in. Fortunately, for me there were two gentleman outside who were more than happy to give me a lift up the curb & the step to get into the building. I thanked them & once I was in the building I heard the sounds of a soulful R & B mix that was being played over the speakers. Toward the front was a very nice large size bar. In the back behind the bar I found my friends that were in the lounge area that use to be bowling lanes. This area contained a lot of tables & chairs another small bar in in the lounge area along with a VJ that was playing songs from days gone by & showing videos on the many TV’s they have hanging on the walls. Everyone there was dressed to impressed & found it to be a very nice mature crowd not to mention it was quite busy even though it was early in the night & continued to get busy as the night went on. In the lounge area also there was a dance floor that I noticed some of the patrons were taking advantage of. Overall I found this place to be quite clean & classy. While I was there we did order a round of drinks which took a bit to receive & were served in small glasses but when we did get them I found them to be quite generous with the pouring. When we left the gentleman working the door shook my hand & thanked me for coming. Overall I found this place to be quite nice & classy the only thing I found bad was the slow service & that there wasn’t an easier way to get in. BTW You’re probably wondering where the lanes are in Gene’s LANES & Lounge well the next day I called my friend & asked him that very question & he told me that there was another private room that I missed that housed the lanes in Gene’s Lanes & Lounge. He also told me they had a downstairs that could be used for private parties. So if your in the neighborhood check out Gene’s.
