Great little hidden away gem of a townie bar near the airport. I’ve driven past this place countless times and have never given it a thought. Last week I was out on a bike ride and the organizer picked this place as one of the«rest stops». It was described to us as a dive bar, but nothing could be further from the truth. Dive bars don’t have four types of German beers on tap. Dive bars aren’t this clean. Dive bars don’t have three generations of neighborhood residents engaged in friendly conversation about our bike ride. This is a townie bar. There is no parking lot here for a good reason, most of their patrons live within walking distance. Although many dive bars have a Denice working their, they don’t have this Denice. She was super friendly and made us want to come back. Although we didn’t get to meet Dennis the owner, I here he is the foremost authority on Milwaukee High Schools and a great conversationalist. Dive bars have motorcyclists, Gators has bike racks.

I used to live by Gators. Dennis runs a decent bar. It kind of reminds me of a south-side Wolski’s. Very neighborhood bar feeling, unique to MILW. Good juke box. Fair Pricing, especially on draft beer. Someone usually buys a round when I am in the bar. If I return the favor, the cost is minimal. Street parking only. Right on the corner of Bolivar and Quincy. Nice bartenders. Good Patrons. I have not seen much for chics in there, but I am not a regular.
