It’s been awhile since I’ve been here but have gone 7 or 8 times. Great Puerto Rician food… love the pulled pork and rice and beans. Cool setting as it is part of a corner grocery store. Neighborhood isn’t the greatest but I never worry.

Great, authentic Puerto Rican home cooking. Best mofongo! Simple restaurant. Nice but bit slow service. I love it.

Buisness is closed for construction at this time. Stopped by earlier this week and saw a sign on the door with a note. I hope they come back.

Hands down — the most authentic Puerto Rican experience around. I thought I could only get food like this at family gatherings. We dined with my in-laws last weekend, and the food, the service, the atmosphere — everything was outstanding. We ordered a wide variety of food — my husband and I split the combo platter, which came loaded with goodies — chicarrones(fried pork), plantains, marinated pork, and some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. My sister-in-law ordered the pasteles — which is basically a Puerto Rican take on ravioli — a plantain-based dough stuffed with meat and potatoes. The star of the experience, however, was the sandwich that my father-in-law ordered. It was made with the marinated pork, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mayo — but instead of bread — it came served on flattened, fried, slices of plantain. Oh. My. Goodness. So good. Don’t waste your time with the white rice — the arroz con gandules is definitely the way to go. The sofrito seasoning, gandules, and pork are spot on — definitely homemade. The server was super attentive and helpful, and the food came out hot and fresh — even though a party of twenty was sat immediately before us. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming — tucked in a residential part of the Walker’s Point neighborhood area. SIDENOTE — there is a soda there called«Good-O» — it’s basically champagne flavored soda. It’s ridiculous. Order it.

Excellent, authentic Puerto Rican food. Cash only, but you don’t need much, it’s pretty affordable. Casual, laid back, Puerto Rican style service, most of the customers are Spanish speaking, but the waitstaff is all bilingual. It’s not a fancy place, but there’s always street parking outside, and the food is quite tasty. I’ve had better Puerto Rican food, but that was in Puerto Rico. For Milwaukee, this is as good as Puerto Rican restaurants get. Try the fried pork or chicken chunks with rice and beans. Also, not a bad place to get quick take out, that’s on the other side, they have a pretty good selection of grab and go stuff they’ve made earlier in the day.
