No its not Jakes, but the corned beef Ruben sandwiches are absolutely delicious. The Philly sandwiches are also amazing. I have been ordering the chicken Philly and it never disappoints. There is no seating(except for that picnic table outside in the summer) but it’s worth it!

Very good corned beef sandwich. Tender and very lean even though I did not get the«extra lean». Basic sandwich with just brown mustard on rye bread and a pickle spear but a very satisfying take out lunch. Service is through a window in a tiny little room but I had no problems. Courteous and friendly gentleman working the counter. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items on their menu.

We went here today for the first time after Carol Deptolla of the Journal Sentinel mentioned it in a piece about Sandwiches in Milwaukee My wife had the Ruben which which was very good but don’t make the mistake of ordering the pastrami. Especially when your this close to a GREAT Pastrami experience(Jakes) The Ruben is thick cut fresh and tasty but a few blocks away Jakes blows this place out of the water. I asked if the Pastrami was fresh prepared like the corned beef and was told it was but what I was given had to have been pre-sliced and tasted about the same as what I would have bought at the grocery store. Both Sandwiches were grilled nicely and were served with a nice pickle wedge. the paper said this was Carry out only but they do have an outside table and a ledge you could eat at if you wanted to have it right away.
