Cell-Vision, Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer

THIS IS NOT A REAL VERIZON WIRELESS STORE!!! WAS UNKNOWINGLY SOLD USED EQUIPMENT!!!
I was excited to see there was a Verizon Store in such a convenient location, and did not realize that this was NOT a Verizon Corporate location, but instead, a third party authorized dealer. I wanted to add a new line of service to my existing account, and was looking for a NEW IPhone 5s. They told me that opening the line was no problem, but I would have to wait for them to ship it to the store. For some reason, and it’s my own fault, I thought, «ok, no one wants the 5s anymore so availability of NEW phones was limited among stores. So I agreed to wait to pick up the phone. I asked about the price and they said $ 160.00. I said no way. They then brought the price down to &120.00 with protective glass and case included. I said OK. They assured me it would arrive by noon, and they would call me upon arrival.
Day one… no call. I called at 2… no phone. Day two… no call. I called at 4… phone had arrived, but I had dinner plans, so I agreed to pick the phone up on day three.
When I arrived they had the phone out of the packaging with protective glass and a new case on the phone. I thought, «Well, at least that is out of the way so I can get out of here.» After activating the phone, I was off to a meeting, quickly glanced in the bag and saw the box, and resumed the rest of my work day.
Later in the evening, my spouse opened the box and saw that the accessories were clearly all used, then cracked open the case off the phone and could clearly see scuff marks on the body of the device. IT WAS A USED PHONE.
First thing in the morning we went to a Corporate Verizon store, and explained the situation, which I was told happens often. She looked up the bar code on the phone and found it was previously issued in 2013! They kindly called on our behalf to the original store and let them know I would be returning the device I bought under false pretenses.
When I arrived, I found out the person who sold me the phone was in fact, Sam the Store Manager. He attempted to tell me he could get me a new phone, but he would again have to send out for it. I told him no, I want a phone today and would purchase it at Corporate location. He was only going to refund me $ 100.00 claiming the phone was unsellable. My partner then said, «Don’t lie to us twice. This phone is from 2013 and you clearly resold it to us under the guise it was new!» Sam then quietly took my credit card and refunded the full amount back. It was a total nightmare for start to finish.
I am now aware to only deal with Corporate locations. Lesson learned.

Since Verizon Wireless existed, my family has been on a group plan and with all the deals that every other service provider offers, you would think that some customer loyalty would trickle down to the distributors and retail store. However, that is not the case and Cell-Vision’s treatment towards me is the pickle next to the shit sandwich they are serving me. So, let’s get down to it.
December ’12, I purchased a brand spanking new Samsung Nexus Galaxy. I also purchased the year long warranty plan from Protect-​Cell. This warranty plan would provide me with coverage if I threw my phone in Lake Michigan, dropped it in a toilet, or it got stolen. I left Cell-​Vision $ 700 lighter but with piece of mind because I had purchased phone insurance for $ 200.
Around May ’12, my phone started acting haywire. I brought it into Cell-​Vision so that their technical and subject matter expert could visually inspect the device for corrosion, water damage, or do some sort of software update to fix my phone. He fully inspected my device and told me that my phone should be working properly and that this would be covered free of charge through Verizon’s Warranty Plan. «So, I do not have to use my insurance?» He replied, «No, because there is no water or physical damage.» I walked out of the store, called Verizon, and went through the proper steps for this warranty transaction to be completed.
Two months later, I am enjoying my new phone until I received noticed that my phone did in fact have water damage and I would have to pay $ 300. I contacted Verizon, Cell-​Vision, and Protect-​Cell to see what needed to be done and they all agreed that Cell-​Vision needs to resolve this issue, however, Cell-​Vision is not resolving the issue and it is over six months later. I also contacted Joe, at Cellular Connection on Miller Parkway, to understand what his retail shop would do. First off, Joe said that he would rarely miss water damage and, secondly, he would pay me back.
I have worked with the Regional Representative at Cell-​Vision to remedy this issue, however, the approach that Cell-​Vision continues to take is one that does not place the responsibility on them. In order for me to use my purchased phone insurance, I need to have the damaged phone back in my hands, however, Verizon does not send these back no matter what. Cell-​Vision continues to take this approach and they are leaving their customers $ 300 lighter in their pocket and placing the pain on me, the customer, when the pain should be placed on them for providing bad service (ie: not being able to tell if a phone is damaged) and following it up with even worse issue resolution.
There are plenty of Verizon retailers in the Milwaukee area. I highly recommend that you go somewhere else where they treat their customers as they should instead of trying to make their bottom lines on your dime.
